Prove to me that sunsingers aren't op

I'm not complaining or ranting, but try and prove that sunsingers are NOT op. Firebolts, which are all people use burn for a very long time, and while burned you are extremely vulnerable as it only takes one shot for you to die and the warlock can track you. The warlock can also rush at you with their ridiculous melee range and hit you. Scorch is arguably the best melee as most spec for flame shield, which almost always guarantees that you win a melee battle. The super is the only super that allows you to come back from the dead, making it extremely unique and powerful in the right hands. Most say that you can res snipe, but if used while the enemy is unaware it can be extremely effective. While active it makes your long ranged melee a one shot and it comes back fast too, along with your grenades. It basically makes what's already powerful even more powerful. And even if you don't self res out can use radiant skin and under the right circumstances (ram radiant skin and max armor while in radiance) you can tank a golden gun shot. It might not be useful but shows how much health you have. So that concludes my rant, feel free to disagree

The melee barely regenerates when radiance is active if you have low strength. Which most people don't use. People who run sunsinger run max discipline or intellect. The RAM got nerfed to +3 armor from +5. Also why wouldn't people use Radiant Skin?! Song of Flame is pathetic. Half the time I use I am the only one throwing grenades unless I tell my brother I am using it and too stay near me for his grenades to charge.

    I have an idea guys why don't we just abolish every bit of diversity in this game and just have one character with a frag grenade a knife melee attack( 2 hit) amd his super is an air strike? There are sooooo many ways to counter any "op" shit in this game, stop crying and learn from your mistakes

  • Simple..... They've even made a medal for how easy it is to kill a sunsinger (self-revive) called '...and stay down'. You're right, that if people are unaware it's extremely effective, but if you aren't aware of your surroundings (ie: you know you just a killed a warlock, and you have a pretty good idea of when supers are available in PVP) then you deserve to get wrecked. Shotgun/Melee.... what sunsinger?

  • Honestly the only complaint is burn length. Simple solution? Double the rate, same amount of "ticks" I think that works. Still not a OHK. Bungie would manage to -blam!- this up tho.

    In 3v3: max discipline and strength with douple melee cloves and a shotgun=op. I main a hunter and I'm not a big fan of warlock but damn that's op.

[/quote] Here is your problem right here... [b]Firebolt is a grenade. It doesn't burn without two perks. Touch of flame "Grenades now burn enemies" and Viking Funeral "Burn lasts longer." Firebolt is just a grenade. Then you say warlocks have long melee range. That is true. But what you fail to realize is that they are warlocks, it is a force palm attack that is a wind attack. Also, hunters have melee grenades (thrown), a broken backstab (procs from front if you aim for the head), and throwing knives (also thrown). Titans have shoulder charge, which is really over used and a lot of titans switched to Striker after sunbreaker nerf.[/b]

              Well I run 3 characters (one of each) and not only do I do better on my Titan but looking at destiny tracker it seems I have killed more warlocks than hunters even though hunters are the most popular character (again stats on destiny tracker). This says to me that, for me at least, the warlock is less op than hunters

              • I think it needs a buff. It's way too easy ATM to kill a sun singer. They need more armor and maybe extra movement speed while activated.

                • Because nerfing them will lead to more calls to nerf snipers. The burn is one of the few effective ways to harass snipers without counter sniping (and thorn won't work in competitive PvP). Hence why it's seen more popularity

                • I say the all the burn abilities are only available when radiance is up. Kinda how the melee only instantly 1 shots when the super is in use. So basically what I'm saying is that the firebolt do not gain the ability to burn unless radiance is active. This way it's not really a nerf but makes it a bit more fair.

                  • Burn damage of all kinds is greatly unbalanced and there lies the problem. The super itself is relatively weak, granted you get a second life but in crucible, more often than not, you can be put down at an instant, especially in trials. Given the opposing team has any self awareness. An alternative idea to progressive damage (burn damage) could be a burn that doesn't necessarily affect ones health but instead prevents a player from healing, as I suspect was the actual intention.
