I honestly would be devastated I have never invested as much effort into any video game character as much as I have my Hunter. There would need to be a very good reason to make us start over. However if they don't delete them how can they change enough to not feel exactly the same. Are they going to add more elements and subclasses to go with them? Obviously only time will tell but it's something I often think about while I am grinding on my characters to achieve small rewards just to make my character look a little different.

I honestly think that there it that diversity. Between the characters. What ever different character I use I have to use a different playstyle.

A guardian from a different Galaxy; or a different timeline?

Edited by chrisEm: 2/2/2016 12:40:18 PMThis is difficult to handle for Bungie. Most people coming from destiny 1 to destiny 2 have probably leveled all 3 sub classes. A simple bump to light level or XP level would not be enough for the veterans. I could see them adding another character class or two, possibly even 3, and a fourth sub class for Hunter warlock and Titan (something green for like poison or something). To answer the question, if myY1/2 progress did not carry over I would probably quit

3 RepliesI'm surprised that a lot of responses say they would want a new start. I'm surprised because we all know if it did happen the amount of tears and anger that rains down on here would be unheard of. Having said that I would be bummed. This was suppose to have that 10 year plan. When I heard about it I was under the impression that our character would grow with the content. There are ways to do it that use the same guardian but have new grinds and abilities. Ppl act like a hunter can't be different in destiny 2. Just saying. OP: you should have made the post a question so we could see the population in votes. Good topic tho.

A new overall class with 4 subclasses and 1 extra for current is fine.... i hope they do not delete. But oh well if they do - as long as it gets worth it... and we still keep all our stuff - aka materials, coins etc. If that does not carry over, destiny 2 MUST be the best game ever with material worth playing for at least 1000 hours without getting boring and repetitive. Talking several raids, strikes, more patrol options/areas, twice as much equipment ( wep and armor etc )

Fine.

Edited by Bungo: 2/2/2016 1:22:02 PMIf it was to wipe them, the story better be dope and mention the amazing feats that your destiny 1 guardian accomplished: breaking the black garden's heart, stopping crota from resurrecting into the real world. Stopping skolas. Killing skolas after that. Killing crota for good. Killing atheon, time's fricking conflux Taking down the house of devil's prime servitor. Theres so much your guardian does that's just... Paved over because theres so much that they did. Also oryx, do not forget about ol' Tar Heart. My guardian better be praised by an old and frail Rahool, dammit.
-
Each new expansion/DLC essentially is a character wipe other than Rep ranks and currency. You're abandoning the old and marching to the new. You only skipped character creation.
-
This is a key factor to me, I know that weapons etc.. but the character should move forward with all of there Emblems/materials & Grim. At least letting people transition materials would reward time invested as long as they keep a good portion of the economy the same, without breaking the next release.

I think it's easy solved. Bungle just need to make the newer gear so much better than what you have then you would actually WANT to shed your older items ! If the new gear is lack lustre then I'd want to hold onto what I have, but if the new armour makes me as hard as Iron balls McGinty then I'll break the delete button !
-
They basically did it with TTK so wouldn't care.
-
I would love it! The story wouldn't be rushed as we would be low levels. Also, I hope there are new classes that are unique.
-
I would be annoyed, then start all over...then get annoyed that I have to do the time sensitive quests for black spindle, etc. Probably would help some new people along the way though
-
I already sent my guardian through a vex gate to go back in time to punch Luke Smith in the dick for coming up with such a stupid idea. Don't worry, it's taken care of.
-
Blow them up if it means we have dedicated servers for pvp and some brand new things to do pve...and better mechanics for sparrow!
-
That's all I have to say about that.
-
Wouldn't care
-
I only use 1 most of the time anyway. My other characters are just vault space.
-
1 ReplyI couldn't give two shitts id rather them make a better game than implement this games guns and armour. They could do something like the exotic blueprints that list all destiny 1 weapons and armour and give you something "close" or similar. I want destiny 2 not destiny 1.5
-
If it allowed for them to start from scratch and make better mechanics then I'm all for it.
-
Edited by MORR1S: 2/2/2016 2:24:27 PMThat would be it for me. They already took away the ability to make my character look unique. I feel like I've stayed for longer than I should have.
-
I would quit
-
I wouldn't care . That would only push me to move on to another game . :) which at the moment I'm trying to let go of this addiction of playing video game and focus on something more productive ...
