How would you feel if destiny 2 wiped your characters
I honestly would be devastated I have never invested as much effort into any video game character as much as I have my Hunter. There would need to be a very good reason to make us start over. However if they don't delete them how can they change enough to not feel exactly the same. Are they going to add more elements and subclasses to go with them? Obviously only time will tell but it's something I often think about while I am grinding on my characters to achieve small rewards just to make my character look a little different.

As i have told many people. I was informed i would be able to keep my characters and weapons and armor throughout the destiny experience. since bungie flat out lied if my characters are wiped I'm done.

I kind of have an idea they will allow them to be playable after you unlock a certain level. Kind-of like how you can use your old pokemon in a new game after you get past a certain gym

To be honest I couldnt care anymore, New game and hopefully alot learned from this mix and patch shit. So if improvements made I wouldn't mind.

Ehh. Bungo have said that they will carry over. Personally, I don't really care. I feel that if they carry over our characters with the same subclasses, strengths, weaknesses, etc. Destiny 2 will get boring really quick. I'd like to see three entirely new classes, not subclasses.

It depends if the game would be an improvement over the first one. If it is then maybe a clean slate would be a good start?

I wonder what content will carry over.. My experience with Bungie tells me that Guns or Armor will NOT carry over at all. (All because it will be PS4/Xbox 1 only) To make up for this outrageous situation they will transfer your reputation level and give you the care packages for all of those levels. So I'd get like 75 crypt-ark packages, 25 new monarchy, 25 dead orbit, 17 crucible, 22 vanguard, etc... Per character. I also think they would transfer over your exotic list so you could rebuy a few from the kiosk. And probably a players Grimoire score. And I would guess people could only go forward to Destiny 2 and not backwards to destiny 1

It would suck since it's an MMO and when new expansions come out in MMO's your character normally carries over but....if the content ends up being completely different like 3 new and different subclasses and an entirely different interesting story I wouldn't mind. Maybe even different classes entirely like some MMO's introduce.

1 ReplyI kinda feel the same way as you. I've put in over 300 hours on my characters and most of that is on my warlock. That being said I would have no problem at all with a clean slate if it means an entirely new game. I'm kinda leaning towards hoping for a wipe. If they start completely over they can get rid of all the things that people complain about and have a fresh go at it. Of course there would just be other things people complained about but at least we wouldn't have to hear about nerfing the warlock, last word, or mida! Lol

With how much I invested into my 320 Titan and getting so much good gear I would stop playing without a doubt.

Many articles (that may not be true.) Say that your characters that you have now will stay with you until the end of the destiny franchise.

I honestly think that there it that diversity. Between the characters. What ever different character I use I have to use a different playstyle.
