Proof Destiny is marketed to kids now: A "Hotline Bling" emote? Seriously?
What's next? Someone screaming "Watch me nay nay?" Whatever the Devil that means..
Cue 200 little kids saying "Rated T for Teen." The original marketing campaign was that of an adult-friendly, dark story line starring people easily recognized by adults (Dinklage, Fillion, Torres, Lance Reddick). This was the campaign for years, from before the ESRB/PEGI rating up until the start of year 2. Now it's "Let's make a bunch of immature dick and fart jokes."
They sold the people a game that was supposed to be one way and have now made it into kid-friendly rubbish.
Bungie is probably going to have someone sneezing into their elbow and calling it a dance before there is a single foxtrot or waltz.

I'm 25 and I'm getting that hotline bling emote even though I barely play this game now and have little to no interest in it. but that ball throwing shit is hilarious and I will go on many kill streaks and just start doing that

Also, if it's that ridiculous throwing balls move he does, that's going to be absolutely fantastic. Hate the song, don't like Drake as an artist, but that one move.....comedy gold.

3 RepliesIf it was an emote from Big Boi, Andre, Lupe, Common, etc. You know, people with actual talent who have actual words, and meaning in their music. If it was that I'd be happy about it. But Drake? Just one more point subtracted from my faith in humanity. I think I can count the points I have left on one hand now.

He just needs to recognize that the younger fan base deserves their tributes as well. There are day one teen players, and beta and alpha, etc... Destiny has and will always be about bringing unlikely people together. If Destiny decides to put out emotes for those to whom they culturally relate, so be it. I'll continue to enjoy the homages Destiny has paid to me with my Jump On It dance, and I'll be happy that some kid somewhere thinks it's real neat that his video game avatar can dance like Drake. The OP doesn't need to change his style, or follow any trends. All who play Destiny should be happy to be noticed, and happy for others who are as well. That's where the problem lies. You don't need to buy the emote. You don't need to find a squeaker to do Crimson Days with. You don't need to get to 320 light and have a Touch of Malice to run raids with others. You need to do you, enjoy the game, and find others to enjoy it with. The rest of the people, let them enjoy it also. Don't like something? Give constructive feedback and reasons. Maybe you'll find others you can relate to. Don't shame a culture or demographic because it's not your culture or demographic.

They've also had: The Carlton (fresh prince of bel air - early-mid 90's tv) Sir-Mix-Alot Jump on it (1996) ...and others...thriller, backstreet boys, etc. Not sure what point you are trying to make. Unless you're just mad because it's Drake, who is god awful, and in that case I'm with you 100%.
