I am a day one player and find myself enjoying warframe much more than destiny. It is warframe who has killed destiny. DE is a great company who listens to the fans and doesn't nerf everything in sight. It's about buff this and buff that. Great game which is only getting better.

6 RepliesCan't say I agree too much with you.
You can still like the game, but here's the Warframe I saw
-Strange gameplay: it tries to act like a stealth based ninja game in space, but quickly devolves into a horrible slaughterhouse where you mash one button and everything around you explodes. -Customizability is phenomenal, the modding system allows every weapon to perform differently for different players and the same can be said about modding frames. -Level design is meh to say the least, it looks like the maps try to look a randomly generated seed, but after a few hours of play, you notice there are like 4 seeds to each environment. -Game modes are god awful, it's either kill this guy, run to point A to point B, sometimes you have to carry something or escort someone from A to B, which all ends with that shuttle boarding scene which is cool one time. -Story, it exists, nothing much to say about it. -The devs are alright, they listen enough. -The game is pay to win. Before you criticize this, ask yourself this, "Why is there a payment option for every aspect of the game?" You can literally buy every weapon, every frame, all the prime gear if you have enough plat to trade, all your crafting components, access the certain storylines and even mods to mod your gear with. You may say this only happens when you abuse the system, to that I say, it's the devs who put it there for a reason. This games a solid 6.5 for me, it's good and it's fun for maybe a week or two, but I wouldn't call it THE game to play.

16 RepliesEdited by Xerxes: 1/30/2016 7:54:28 PMSo I was into warframe back before destiny came out, but I didn't like it too much simply because of the: -impossibility of getting anywhere close to the cool stuff like "volt prime" (which costed like 200 dollars...) -lack of engaging modes (go here, save guy, leave. Go to the same place, kill guys, leave. Go here, use loud ass guns to "sneak" by people, then leave, etc.) -lack of a PvP mode. -complicated and slow process of "modding" -glitchy controls and graphics -only having access to one friggin map based on the same procedural design. -feeling underpowered as heck because I wanted to play the game and move on to the next level and not have to farm for 1000 materials and wait 72 hours. -the inability to sell stuff I bought for platinum that I no longer want. Does the game still have these issues? If not, please tell me. The concept was fun, but I just deleted it and waited for Destiny because honestly, Destiny only had 1 of those problems.

2 Repliescoughs Got into Warframe today. Holy hell is it fun, especially with friends who are good.
buy seriously, 12 hours to join a freaking clan?
1 ReplyWarframe is terrible. ESO is where it's at.

1 ReplyWhat dumbass ninja moved this to gaming There's clearly Destiny related things here
-
3 RepliesToo bad the general chat is about as cancerous as a 9gag forum on fiven nights at Freddie's call of duty came. And the mods just sit around singing Rick Ashley Other than that it's nice.

7 RepliesWhat is the easiest way to get forma? Please help.

1 ReplyA bonus is that the only "pay to win" part of the game is the fashion show *takes notes*

2 RepliesEdited by albinomachina: 1/31/2016 12:42:58 AMI've downloaded it, and played it a couple times but couldn't really get into it. Vor's chicken legs really, really bother me. He just looks so indescribably stupid, its hard to take him seriously as a villain. edit - I haven't played Destiny in six months, and decided I wanted to get back into it so I bought a copy of the Taken King off of eBay for $35 a couple of days ago. I can't wait for it to get here. I'm pretty excited to get to do all the new stuff I missed out on last year. edit 2 - this is the third copy of Destiny I've bought by the way, its officially become the most expensive game I've played to date.

And it has free dlcs. The second dream wasn't out yet when I first started. Now I've done the quest and it's awesome!

40 RepliesEdited by OnlyAlfredo: 1/30/2016 4:11:51 AMI love all these uneducated kids on here saying "pay to win." The definition of "pay to win" is paying to earn a clear advantage over other players. Let me tell you why this doesn't apply whatsoever to Warframe. First off, of the few weapons you can buy(yes, the weapons you can buy only account for about a third of of the total weapons in the game), hardly any of them are worth using. Not only this, but the cost to build these market weapons is so low, the game is literally telling you to not spend your money. About 85% of the games best weapons can't be bought, and must be farmed/traded. Guess what? There's a trade system. Even if you don't like the "microtransactions" in a free game(speaking of which, you complain about dropping $10 on a free game while you play a game you spent $140 on AND has microtransactions...huh), you can trade for platinum(equivalent of silver) or for the weapon/Warframe itself. Everything is free in a trade system. Not only this, but an in-game economy built off the supply/demand of each item creates even further depth to the game that these ignorant people keep ignoring. Mods. Yes. They can't be bought(there are a few mod packs, but they are not only vastly overpriced, but they don't give good mods. Hint: nobody buys them). They have to be farmed/traded. Without them, all weapons will suck. You guys seem to think that Warframe is as easy as collecting weapons. No. It also consists of collecting the necessary mods and being smart enough to formulate a build sufficient for that type of weapon, along with different variations to accommodate for different missions/enemy types(hint: this furthers depth even more. Apparently it requires some sort of intelligent thought because these people can't understand this). The only "advantage" you gain by paying is getting the weapon 12 hours ahead of the person who built it(3 days for warframes...but you can play other games, or, call me crazy, play this game). But even that..."advantage"...is false. Warframe is a largely co-op game. The pvp aspect is new, and small(with completely different stats/balancing in pvp...it's been around for about 5 months and they already learned to separate pve from pvp...). So you're really saying Warframe is pay to win because some guy on your team has a weapon 12 hours ahead of you, and he carried you?(and that's assuming he maxed it, forma'd it enough, and has a sufficient build for it). The sad truth is, people who play the game, know it's not pay to win. The people who falsely believe this have no real proof of it being pay to win, nor do they have enough experience to even come to this conclusion. They just want a reason to dislike the game.
Ive never spent any money in my 1,100 hours with the game. The difference between my argument and the counterargument is that mine comes from educated experience, and there's from inexperience. Because I know somebody will call me out for having 1,000 hours because I don't pay, try this one out. Maybe I have 1,000 hours played because I like the -blam!-ing game.
But what do I know? I only play the game.

3 RepliesFunny to see this post after starting to play Warframe on Monday ;-) What I've seen so far, really impresses me: Customization and modding seems limitless, constant special events offer opportunities for good loot, scanning enemies is a nice and helpful distraction and the devs really seem to care for their game; constantly patching and fixing even the slightest issues, that would take months to be fixed in Destiny or would go totally unattended. Of course, there is even more grind and less story than in Destiny, but I feel rewarded for my time invested. Got lucky with some events and drops and will already have my second frame ready in about 10h ;-) Also, you really ARE badass with high-end gear, but even then, there will be hard challenges available. Not like in Destiny, where the difficulty was artificially raised by rendering your gear more and more worthless, just to somewhat balance crucible. I found my new favorite grind feast and also have some of my old Destiny buddies playing, so I'm out for now.

2 RepliesEdited by Thane: 1/30/2016 10:06:21 PMPlease, don't compare Warframe to Bungie's unoriginal failing rubbish ...... One is FREE, decent, unique, older/earned its place and actually "evolved" to become better over time. The other is insultingly overpriced (from vanilla to DLC's), mediocre, unoriginal, established nothing and lost a massive chunk of its player-base in ONE year. It doesn't take too much experience in the loot-based genre to know whats wrong with Destiny. Laziness/incompetence/terrible practices can only take you so far, but never enough to build a franchise (serious reputation damage).

1 ReplyIs nyx any good guys?

3 RepliesI don't like it, it's got good game play, but it's lame that people can just buy the best weapons and gear, that's why I left. IMO Destiny is much more fun.
-
40 RepliesFreemium gaming is garbage. Don't care how good it is, of its based on microtransactions I'll never play it.
-
2 RepliesWhen they listen to those who want first person options... I'll play it again.
-
The best thing about warframe .......
i can shut it down and uninstall it without feeling like i wasted money.
-
2 RepliesTried it. Didn't like it reminds me of games from late 90's. Bad graphics and generic bad guys. Plus you run the same levels over and over again just like destiny. Except it's not doing strikes over and over its patrol over and over. That's how it seemed to me.

I've been playing warframe for over a year now and it's one of the better designed games I've played. Yes there is microtransactions but never once have I felt the need to pay money to play the game. The game currency you can pay for (platinum) is very easy to get through farming up sets of an item then selling said item to other players. Hell my clan leader has made 4k over the past week without spending a dime. The gameplay is good and higher tier stuff demands teamwork and skilled players which I personally enjoy (I don't like the lone wolf shit).

Eh when it first came out I didn't find any interest in it(PC) but now replaying it on ps4 it was pretty enjoyable
