Confirmed. Crimson Doubles will...
... not have matchmaking.
Are we surprised?
In light of the past couple of weeks, this is pretty much final confirmation for me that Bungie's design team has become COMPLETELY TONE-DEAF to the a very large part of the community's feedback and repeated requests.
More PVP snipe-festing...
No matchmaking options...
No new content beyond emblems, emotes and perishable (?) candy...
What a joke.
I can already hear the good ole Deej "go out and make friends" routine kicking in.
Would actually have been a damn shame to use the Valentine day's team to favour in-game friend-making by matching you with a random you might decide to friend after a few good games...
Or to do some "blind date" type stuff like letting you go in as a fireteam of four to six, but then "shuffling" it to randomly match partners and opponents so that you can finally actually duel versus your friends in a guaranteed manner.
Or just a plain duel mode. (Final fvckingly).
Nope.
It clearly seems that buffed-up doubles / mini-cheesy-trials is the best we can expect creatively for the time being. After a month-long hiatus.

Well holy sxxt bungie, no matchmaking for this valentines event what a surprise. I for one won't take part in any meaningful way, didn't bother with the Halloween or sparrow racing much either. Love iron banner but they've fxxked that up too. Are they trying to make it hard for their player base to continue playing. Never experienced a company so intent on trying to destroy their own creation.

1 ReplyFirst off, this game type isn't going to work. Why? Because ultimately it'll be a 1 on 1 between carrying players. The lesser of the pair is gonna be dead every single time and the carry will have to win the match. Why not just add 1v1s into the game Bungie? or Dueling options, like calling out Guardians in the wild.

I'm not sure I people havn't realized this yet but Destiny is a [b]very[/b] social game. I'm always talking to my fire-team members, having a laugh, and making friends. This is the first game that I've played that really forces you to work calmly and cooperatively with one another. So even if they added in game matchmaking, I'm fairly certain it would be best by using an LFG sight. However, I understand there are those with no mics or are just looking for a quick game. That's understandable. But if I had to side one way or another, I would not have matchmaking in these types of game modes.

Well, it is an event for friends and couples like boyfriend-girlfriend or other homogeneous combinations, it is not for people that are matched with a random from some other city-state-country. That is what Valentine's day is about. And that is what they wasted their time on this time.
