Im not here to cry OP or Nerf Plz but i just think it's kind of saddening to see nearly half of all players use these three guns (MIDA, TLW, 1KYS)
you would like to think there would be a large number of viable options that arent these 3. I understand the thousand yard is the only realistic option for rez sniping but still.
Thoughts?
EDIT:
Just went flawless and ran into 2 team of MIDA/1KDS only and 2 teams of TLW/1KYS only.
Shoutout to the team we ran into that was using fusion rifles and the guy with the First Curse.

Trails has always been about picking, also tlw is there because once you get in its game over.
-
Because they're average, easy to get, and fun to use. I still use nirwens mercy and conspiracy theory. The shotgun nerf still wasn't that bad. Sometimes I'll pull out my 1k stare if I'm constantly being sniped.
-
-
Because people can't realize that crucible is balanced, and they think they are doing better with those weapons because of the placebo effect.
-
They're good
-
Mida pairs with conspiracy theory and TLW pairs with 1k stare, it's no surprise.
-
the map design. Too much potential for Snipers to dominate. I remember the map was on the moon. A little bit more diversity in weapons.

6 RepliesWell, this meta is a tad bit better than the old meta with Thorn, TLW and Final round. It just seems that all the average players of Destiny go towards whatever makes them gud so they can get easy kills. When is the skill involved anymore? It doesnt take any skill sniping off revive. A primary is there for a reason. Secondary shouldnt always be the only go to like 1KYS. I use Glass Promontory with Boolean and Bretomarts stand. Thats a different while decent setup. Will that set up get me flawless in Trials? NO. Wanna know why? Because most of the community is sitting there with the same weapons and no variation. I havent gone flawless once in Trials due to Platinum, Diamond players always on our first match. That says something right there. YEAR ONE TRIALS WAS BETTER BUT THE SNIPER META WASNT AS HEAVY. Bring back all the older weapons so that variation will exist again. Rant done.

Same exact shit different guns. Bungie's lame ass nerfs and tossing out of beloved and hard EARNED weapons remains as pointless as it is infuriating. Why are you surprised.

23 RepliesEdited by sergeantsnipes05: 1/5/2016 1:17:42 AMthousand yard stare gets that many kills because its one of 3 legendary snipers that can res snipe. One of which is restricted to the hunter class, and the other is locked behind the gunsmith. Everyone gets a well rolled Thousand yard stare from a quest. Thousand yard stare is no different than LDR, her benevolence, Longbow, efrideets, or shadow of veils. It is really the only reasonable sniper rifle that can be expected to be used for the casual player outside of hunters. People on this forum equate overuse to overpowered. MIDA is currently being over used and it will normalize in a few weeks and go back to pulse rifles being the most common weapon type as they are meant to be the jack of all trades master of none class. The last word really is the only competitive hand cannon due to the hawkmoon nerf, thorn would be back to dominating if it was year two (shudder). Thousand yard stare will probably be over used until they add a new sniper of that archetype in the next expansion. The first time Trials launched there were a handful of snipers that could res snipe. We only have 2 right now. The thing that bothers me the most of the Thousand yard stare kills is that 41% of them are headshots. The only thing i think they should do to snipers is make high impact take 3 body shots to kill and low impact take 4. Would actually force players to go for headshots

1 ReplyThis is why I don't play trials anymore.

1 ReplyHow about this radical idea.... You use the guns you wanna use and I'll do the same.... Crazy idea, huh?
-
Sadly, this is the closest to balanced we've been to
-
If they released a video showing the effectiveness of other guns in a time to kill fashion then I bet people would expand their use. But once you get steam rolled with something then you wanna use it and then balls rolling etc etc.
-
I use hard light and a shotgun, don't like sniper rifles in pvp. I like to see my reflection in the other players helmet.
-
Year 1 was thorn , the last word and felwinters....there will always be a meta and people will always cry nerf!
-
3 RepliesEveryone just uses 1000-Yard as a primary, I hope they nerf special ammo in the crucible again.
-
So does that mean 3 other guns make up the other 54%? Not like the others
-
Because, the maps are designed around Sniping dude. Use shores of time as an example. Try standing on Zone B
-
I used hand cannons, bc who doesnt like the feeling that your old ole western outlaw every now and then, but i also used burden of proof (shotgun) bc i play up close and personal
-
RIP snipers, scouts, and Last Word (again)
-
5 RepliesIt's because people are sheep and follow the current trend (meta) instead of learning how to out play them.
-
4 RepliesIt all depends on the play style. I use TLW because my secondary is my sniper. I have my loadouts complement each other. So If I am using a medium to long range primary I would have a shotgun or sidearm as my secondary to take care of anyone who wants to rush. TLW is mostly to counter the shotgunners or when I get up close and personal with some other guardian. Now as I see it there are 2 types of players Passive and Aggressive. The passive players are the ones you will see who always have their snipers out and their primary will mostly be TLW...why? because it is good at close range. The aggressive players are the ones who have a little varied loadout. Majority of them I feel will be running blink shotgun with the primary being a medium to long range weapon(eg Pulse, Scout). These players would mostly prefer to use their shotgun. The other kind of aggressive players are the ones who will have primary and secondary which are extremely good at close range(These are the players that rush no matter what). Now that will cause people to have the same load out because they feel those weapons are more reliable than the others weapons which might have similar stat but don't perform similarly or better than their preferred weapons.
-
Because the destiny community with out a doubt cant adapt using weapons that arent top tier so they go on what and this is my honest opinion on what youtubers pick and there loadouts they honestly kill everything if there wasnt any videos explaining stats and what not i can bet these kids would never be able to figure it out.

Bungie is the definition of unbalanced

Meta right now it's not hard to understand
