Edit - been having zero issues managing high impact/range shotties with range finder in I.b. been having a lot of fun!!
I primary shotties.
Those 2 perks are why people complain so much about shotties.
& partially why other shotties took a huge beating
What do you think?
Edit - I think the following should be done to make pvp perfect, obviously just my opinion
Everything is almost perfect, but
Hcs 4-5% stability/accuracy increase
Ars 1-3% damage increase
Frs 2-4% stability, range, & charge rate increase
Shotguns given back their movement & readying speed
Sidearms 5% increased reload & movement speed while wielding
Snipers 50% aim assist reduction. Get knocked out of scope when hit by x amount of bullets depending on weapon impact
Storm caller land fall damage reduced just barely enough to not insta kill an enemy in super will full health, & destroy a defender bubble, reduce range of storm trance lightning by 5-8%
Sun breaker to have same nades as sunsinger
Nightstalker to have same nades as defender .
*now make these changes = balance weapons, and reduce all weapon damage by 2% just so it's a tiny bit more challenging to get kills* ( I'm expecting hate for this comment lol )
Buff all supers and abilities in pve

That the two perks stacked extended the shotgun range from point blank to absurd distances, leading to the issue of getting shot with 1 hit weapons before you had a chance to react.

Shot package was slightly broken. I didnt have one for the longest time and when I finally got one I noticed a change in my K/D IMMEDIATELY. but I think lowering the base range for shotties by a significant amount would have fixed it.

1 ReplyI think felwinters, matador, party crasher, and conspiracy theory ruined shotguns. Shot package/rangefinder wasn't the problem: case in point a dry rot with shot package is better than one without it but it's not going to be sniping anyone anytime soon. The fact this archetype was allowed to exist in the first place baffles me. The fact that it was allowed to continue to exist astounds. The fact that they made party crasher a year 2 drop and gave everyone a god rolled conspiracy theory makes me give up on life.

Just wait, all the jackasses feeling cool about snipers and the bullet magnetism are gonna get sniper rifles ruined too.

If they nerf snipers, and this is a big if, they only need to increase the amount snipers are staggered when they are taking fire. Besides, if they buff the other secondaries, there will be no need to nerf snipers. This is coming from a guy who mains shotguns. I totally agree with your take on the buffs though, just had to say that again. Nice job J.

1 ReplyPVE - No PVP - Yes the whole problem with weapons in Destiny is that it is impossible to balance it between PVP and PVE. To be honest, PVP needs to be sepparated with pre-set loadouts. PVP nerfs caused fusion rifles and shotguns into being very weak in PVE. Then they buff the Thorn for PVE back in the day and it was awesome, but guess what? in pvp it was Overpowered. its a neverending circle..

I think that it's fine with them being gone, shotguns can still be op if you have a good roll and just like snipers. They are for a certain skill level player. Bungie just took them away hoping that the community would stop complaining but instead it turned into a bigger riot because now the community wants sniper nerfed or mida nerfed. It's a never ending one way street for bungie and as much as they try the community is going to keep complaining and making empty threats to go play cod or halo.

4 RepliesYes. Both individual perks and especially the combination ruined the image of shotguns and resulted in getting shotguns needed incorrectly. They should have simply took away shot package and rangefinder, then left shotguns alone. It would have been fine then.

15 RepliesNo, they didn't. They simply pissed people off who love to run-n-gun right past blind corners. Plus, shotguns got a horrible reputation due to their association with blink. While blink was effectively nerfed, shotguns retained the reputation as OP.
