Does it really make a big difference if your weapons are 310 or 320?

A few weeks ago on Widow's Court, before the Sunbreaker patch, one of my mates got one shot out of his super by a GG. The Titan was 304, the Hunter was 315. So I think 10+ overall light levels makes a small difference.

4 RepliesKilled a few people with a Shadow Price as quick as any other low rate of fire AR currently in the game. Dropped me down to like 289 light. What I have noticed is your armor stats actually work. Was playing salvage and this guy was wrecking me in 2-3 shots with a Mida. Boosted my armor and I was trading or winning the 1v1.

Every ten light i s somewhat noticeable, somewhat.
-
No not really

2 RepliesI sniped someone I the head with praedyths revenge and it didn't kill them. So yes.
-
It depends. You do slightly less damage to people 10 light levels higher than you and even less if they're 10+. However the amount of damage difference is incredibly small.
-
No, I was using a year one multi tool at 170 attack (I was 290 light) and was still doing 51 damage to the head on enemies
-
It's not a big difference if you are only a few light away from someone. However, when it's gets to a difference of 10ish or more then it becomes more noticeable
-
It goes from 290 - 299, 300 - 309 and 310 plus 310 plus will kill 300's or less alot easier. Thats what ive been told
-
3 RepliesIt doesn't make a big difference at all what your gear is. As along as you are 280+ you're fine
-
If you're 320 you'll kill the 300 and below light opponents much easier.

You can still 1 shot people with Ice Breaker in Trials, so yeah, but not by a lot. Also Thorn is a 3-4 shot kill in Trials as well.. Just so you know.
-
3 RepliesYes, kevel advantages are enabled, which counts for light level as well
-
I'm 312 with my current pvp gear. And one game i tried to use a white (hirachon) 77 attack sniper. It downed my light lvl to 278 and did 198 to the head. So my guess is if you and all your weapons are above 290 (requirements for too) you should do the same or little less damage as someone with lets say 320 light.
-
It does matter, but anything 300 is good enough. There won't be any difference.
-
Yes, but not as much as people make it out to be. The change is pretty small, you have to be like bare minimum or like 20+ light below I believe to actually notice a difference that's drastic.
-
1 ReplyMe and mates go into there at 310 then drop our light way down to below 180. The damage decrease is barely noticeable. As long as you can make it into trials; don't worry about light. Put your best gear on. What you're comfortable with. Signed, A Hunter who goes flawless weekly (and doesn't demand nerfs)

Between 310 and 320 no. A couple of weeks ago i was using the NLB (y1 version) and i was light level 280-ish. Vs 310. I had to get 3 body shots on close range and on long range 1 headshot wasn't enough to kill
-
No diffirence i went flawless with icebreaker i was 296 light when i equipped it.

It's not ypur weapons itsself that determine your damage. It depends on your total light level, but only in steps of 10. So there is no differenxe if you're 310 or 318, but there is indeed a difference if you're 309 or 310. Hope this helps and please excuse the not so perfect english :P
-
No as long as you are 290+ you are good.
