A whole week spent on trying to beat Oryx on Challenge mode and I couldn't find a single group that could come through and beat him. Not one... How is LFG that big of a collection of inept players? It's beyond me. I offer to help. Teach them how to do it, be patient. And not a single group every day this week could match up. But I guess that's just part of the game. Did anyone else have serious struggles concerning their fireteams facing the challenge?
Edit: wow expected the majority to call me a whiner or suck at the game. Surprised the majority were actually mature and talked about their experiences. Some of you are still a little immature though ;) I wont hold that against you though.
Edit: welp is a slang term, I didn't misspell "well" , lol

Finally beat it this week on all three characters :) found good people with great communication and we killed it

1 ReplyLol first tried it

WHY DID U PLAY IT SO YOU CAN GET 1 MORE LIGHT OR THAT COOL SHADER TO GET LARGER PIXEL PEENIS?
-
Don't blame others for your failures. It just makes you look like a prattling, immature fool. You had SEVEN days to complete this challenge, and there are PLENTY of people who completed it on three characters in the first day! I completed it at least 6 times just helping my friends and their friends through. The challenge wasn't that difficult, it just required communication (as always) and focus. I only struggled one run; and that was mostly because of lag (teleporting ogres, shade disappearing, etc.) LFG is full of people doing only Challenge Mode Oryx. Checkpoints for days! How are you going to blame other people for your failure to complete something? If you couldn't do it, that lies squarely on your shoulders. No one else's.

took me until 3 hours before the reset to get it done once. I feel your pain brother.
-
Most of your capable teams raid on Tuesday or Wednesday. It gets harder the closer you get to reset unfortunately.

When people complain about the skill level of LFG players I immediately get suspicious. I don't have a regular raid group and I ALWAYS raid with randoms, I've been using LFG since VoG with over 200 raid completions and never had any huge issues. As long as you get good at spotting bad teams and leave them straight away there's no reason you can't beat a raid 3 times/week. I personally don't have loads of time to play Destiny and I managed to clear every hard challenge on all 3 characters every week without any huge hiccups. So, when someone complains about the skill LFG players I assume the skill deficit is most likely with themselves.

Use the destiny recruitment forum. Never had a problem there

7 RepliesI hate the word "welp".

I had some issues here and there but got my 3 complete and ran 2 extras with my Titan to help some people out. My advice is... when you run a regular HM raid and you find people who are good/cool add them as friends and run more raids with them. I have been doing that since HM came out, made it easier to build a competent fire team for challenge mode.

I find it odd how everyone says how lfg randos suck and could not get a raid task done in an entire week. I've never had a problem on lfg, at least not to the extent of not being able to accomplish something in a week. Longest I've attempted a raid before completion has been a day or less, even brand spanking new raids on their first day of release. I think some people are just magnets for attracting bad players.

If you on ps4 I will help you out psn is oslifer
-
It was absurdly easy. It was a cheese for the raid.
-
3 RepliesTeleporting Ogres, too many Acolyte Eyes and lag were the majority of the issues with my fireteam failures.

Honestly I have quit playing raids and trials of anything that requires a group. In the last 2 end game activities I have done I have had bad experiences. When hard raid first came out my group went out and tried but failed. My group got mad and everyone left. I have not tried since:( I tried trials for the first time since year one last week and again another terrible experience. I consider myself a very good pvp player. (stats don't show because no land beyond and mayhem lol!) I went in with a guy who I don't know to well and he ended up being an a-hole. He was yelling me what to do but I knew what to do and still clutched the 1v3. He constantly yelled and at that point I quit. I still have yet to beat a hard raid or even finish 2 games on a trials card:(

1 ReplyJust the way of it I guess. First run with PUG about 50 min. Second run with different PUG about 2 hrs. Third run split into two different nights with my friends about 6 hrs and still didn't kill Oryx. Just some groups mesh and some don't.
-
4 RepliesYou need to get it done early in the week. The only people still trying it later in the week are the people that haven't gotten it done...
-
Last night I ran two characters through. Had to coach the team a bit but we got there. The night before spent 3 hours with a group and couldn't do it once. It's crazy how people just make the same mistakes over and over and over
-
Yeah it can be a real struggle. Alot of people have never beaten oryx and dont say anything, which is fair enough to because some people think they are gods gift to gaming.
-
First two groups were a nightmare. Took maybe 6 hours in total before they finally got it. Third run we got it first time. Feels good when a group of strangers have such great synergy.
-
I don't know what you are going on about OP. Got 3 LFG groups, beat Oryx Challenge 3x times. Easy as pie.
-
You pretty much have to find a clan in order to be successful in these challenging group events
-
12 different groups this weekend. Hell I even went back to easy mode just to do it and the kids were worse. No good guns and just didn't get it. At least I finally did it last night before reset.
-
Some groups were terrible but managed to help a bad group get it done after my first completion. Don't stick it out too long if the players who aren't learning are still in the group. I know it's harsh but some people need more practice or to be carried and you have to stay alive for it so it's harder to do.
-
I did it first try three times lol it's so easy

Edited by XxDazzleNovakxX: 12/22/2015 8:32:47 PMBy the end of the week the only people looking for lfg are ones that don't care and only want to be carried. I too have this issue and a lot of lfg kids don't like losing more than twice to try to get a decent way if doing things. so you lose one impatient scrub and boom now you have to wait for one more... Then that one turns into another as everyone leaves because they get bored waiting
