I don't mind people sniping or camping in the back of maps. What makes me angry is when I maneuver my way around the map to get a better position to challenge the sniper and I land multiple shots on him and he still manages to headshot me. Like seriously there is no way you consider yourself a serious competitive player and not have problem with this.

1 ReplyThey should just take out all weapons. Instead of helmets wear tin foil hats. And instead of chest armor they could wear a bra

Takes much more skill than shotgun runners. Shotguns are broken.
-
No.. They don't it's just too many people are using them ATM. We as a community have to choose, snipers or shotguns.... I would much rather be shot at by sniper via a shotgun.

3 RepliesEdited by Chubbums: 12/12/2015 7:52:17 AMAll the MLG pro Destiny snipers use high Aim assist rifles and actually consider themselves HIGHLY skilled. Seriously if you are so good at sniping why not use the weakest lowest impact ones. All you need is a headshot right Pros? Ah I forgot most low impact snipes have too low of an aim assist...

10 RepliesNeeds to drop them out of their scope when they're hit.

Tbh, body shots probably should be. I run a longbow and am crap at hesdshots with it. I can kill with it though. Get a headshot or 2 with a primary, then shoot in the anywhere else area. It works.

7 RepliesI hate how everyone's first instinct is to nerf things before looking at the situation. No matter what others say, shotguns are still good (albeit a bit less so) and aim assist really isn't any different on snipers than it was in Y1. The problem we're seeing is the meta itself: Long Range /\ Snipers | | | Mid Range | Fusion Rifles | | Sidearms \/ Shotguns Short Range If you don't see what I'm saying, the point I'm trying to get across is that Fusions and Sidearms are basically crammed into the mid- to close-range area. When shotguns had insane amounts of range, they were between where Sidearms and Fusions are now (or just one step up). Combine that with the fact that you could simply rush with them and get kills on mid-range targets before they could kill you, and they would basically fill that mid-range area. Now, the problem is that they've been nerfed (which isn't a bad thing) so there's now this huge void that can't be filled by Fusions and Sidearms (unless they get a range buff, which I think they need) because they simply don't have enough range. That leaves only sniper rifles. By now, everybody's realized that the only way to get those mid-long range kills they want is with a sniper. And of course, they can just step back a bit and wait for someone from far away, then snipe them. Nothing else can really compete because you have to get a few shots off to sway their scope, and that can only really be done with a primary (the scope sway you get from getting shot is actually quite substantial, so any kills while under fire that a sniper makes are pure skill). So, everybody's using a sniper now, and the more they use them, the better they become with them, just like any other gun. If you have a meta that forces people to become a good sniper to do the best, what do you think they'll do? Snipe, of course, and get as good as they can. And those are the people you're up against. Until they buff range on sidearms and fusions, snipers are the only viable option outside of the mid- to close-range space. Just my thoughts on the meta and snipers in general. Tl;dr: Snipers have filled the gap that shotguns left after they got nerfed multiple times.

2 RepliesEdited by PS_TRUDODYR: 12/12/2015 9:50:51 PMNo, they don't. Snipers function the same as day 1. Bungie needs to strengthen aggressive play options again (blink, shotguns, fusion rifles) and increase damage at range for auto rifles, pulse rifles and hand cannons. Sniping in year 1 came with great risk. Now, with shotguns trash, blink way too slow and primary weapons having ridiculous falloff sniping isn't a risk-reward anymore unless your going up against MIDA... Which is why that weapon has become so popular. In year 1, you basically had one shot and if you missed.. You probably died. Now it's not uncommon for snipers to get at least two shots off before backing off. There's too little risk in sniping now.

You can look at mine
from the end of the barrel

you might find a surprise
The only time I get annoyed is playing trials and having all three enemies sniping in the same choke point. I mean it's easier to counter because of predictability but trials is just who can out wait who. That's the only beef I have with sniping. I get headshotted I am usually amazed how they got me. I usually say wow or bravo lol

Shut the fuck up.

That's called skill, quickscoping whilst being shot is extremely difficult
-
I have no idea what you're talking about

Sniping needs to be reworked. If it's harder to use scouts at close range it should very hard for snipers

Git gud scrub

I had such a sweaty match last night I was using Last word 1000 yard stare Suros launcher Blink And went for max agility The ultimate tryhard setup 1KYS may need to be looked at

I don't consider myself a serious competitive player! So I guess I don't need to have a problem with this.

No. No they don't.

If you snipe with a final boss sniper and land headshots... Thats skill B)

You will never be happy. Snipers are fine you straight up got shitted on.
-
nah. this "aim assist" everyone keeps talking about is so over dramatic it's laughable. sniping is as difficult as it should be on console, cut the shit.

11 RepliesSnipers need sway and hardcore scope bouncing when walking. People would get so Butthurt it would be amazing lol scrubs

The only thing I have a problem with is when you run round a corner, shoot at a sniper and they have enough time to switch to their sniper, spin and snap to your head and walk away unscathed.
