6 Repliessunbreaker class is still op. need to nerf the overpowered overshield, the 5 nova bombs and the health regen. It should have 3 hammer throws and last 10 seconds tops.

This is actually a good update! Bungie didn't make anything game breaking or unbalanced! Strikers can do some major damage now and I feel like that's a huge step-up because FoH wasn't exactly that good. Defenders also get a little extra too which makes WoD very good as well! Bungie actually listened for once and buffed the other two supers and nerfed Sunbreakers. They also didn't completely cripple HoS! They lowered the health regeneration and armor resistance and hammer explosion sizes and overall I think they balanced it pretty well! Good job Bungie.... you actually did pretty good for once!

1 ReplyEveryone thinking sunbreaker is ruined, you're overreacting. Like always.

I don't play a lot of Titan, but I find the changes to be interesting none the less. More so the concept of Class Balancing. Makes me wonder if they will get to the Warlock's Sunsinger. Biggest gripe I have with the Sunsinger is the Phoenix Down build (but not like you think). Also keep in mind that I am primarily looking at this through a PvE lens, but trying to keep PvP in mind as best I can. I think having Phoenix Down as a Super is unique, but there is nothing in the tree that really synergizes with that build. You are essentially down a Super as you hold onto it until critical moments, therefore you are not generating orbs for your fireteam. This is a huge detriment to a "Support Class". There needs to be a passive ability that turns on when the Sunsinger's Super is fully charged. This passive needs to either be an AoE buff to allies or an orb generation passive. If you ask me both these options should be available as an either/or perk on the tree. In a previous thread, geared more towards Sunsingers, I offered a much more unique perspective on how to assist and improve them in Destiny's current meta-game for both PvE and PvP focusing exclusively on the Sunsinger's Super perk tree. I'll give a quick recap of what I said then: Song of Flame (total rework) - restricts Sunsingers from using their Super at all while they are alive. When the Super is charged a passive ability is triggered giving nearby allies and yourself reduced cooldowns on grenades and melees. Sunsingers with this passive on generate orbs of light if they get kills with Grenades and Scorch. Sunsingers can activate their super upon death, which will self-revive that Guardian. Fireborn (total rework) - allows Sunsingers to summon a Fireborn Knight AI, Fireborn Minotaur AI, and Fireborn Captain AI upon Super cast. All AI remain on the field for a set time limit or until their HP drops to 0. These monsters would not have regenerating shields, like their normal NPC counterparts. Fireborn Monsters attack with super heated bullets that would cause a small amount of DoT to enemies struck. Radiant Light (new ability) - allows Sunsingers to erect a pillar of light upon Super cast. The pillar provides cover and a boon to all allies in proximity as well as a debuff to all enemies who are near.

The juggernaut perk looks like it will be really good now!

5 RepliesLet me put it this way... players who choose to play as a solar titan in a small portion of thr game get a higher k/d than users of the other less effective subclasses for the titan, so you nerf it to make those players suck as bad as the others? How about you do some real research? HoS is effective and a favorite because it is a mid to long range super and wkrks up close too. Striker is a melee super that leaves you very vulnerable and defender is a great pve subclass. But you morons forget that what is changed for pvp changes pve too. And all you dirtbags that cry about stuff like this need to stop suckling your moms teet and git gud scrubs. This is exactly why I just simply don't care about destiny anymore.
-
I'm glad Strikers and Defenders got the better end of this deal. Still not happy with the sunbreaker nerf but we will see how these changes come into play on PvE. Bungie needs to consider PvE gamers. They've always reacted to PvP whiners. Pathetic!

2 RepliesIs the patch live? Or are they waiting to release it?

Edited by mortem711: 12/5/2015 5:27:12 AMOne thing I don't like is that the strikers are getting increased mobility with striker. It just doesn't seem to fit their base class. I do like the increased armour though as that does suit the Titan class
-
31 RepliesLess tracking to hammers that barley track. And making slow hammers going slow and a damage resistance by basically 10%. GG hunters, your crying did good. But now Titans have melee range plus Strikers are now going to destroy even more. Can't wait to panic super all the pussies.
-
6 RepliesHow did they nerf sunbreaker super? How much slower will the hammers be?
-
Yes striker master race getting some serious love!!!

Hoped for more for defenders as its essentially the only class I use. Not butthurt though I was doing alright before I'll just do a tiny bit better now

17 RepliesEdited by Specterz: 12/5/2015 6:03:03 AMHere's my thoughts: Sunbreaker: Hammer of Sol- I agree it needed a nerf, but I fear they went too far. IMO they should have reduced hammer range, velocity, and duration, but left damage reduction alone. Titans are supposed to be tanks so just reduce their lethality. Neutral Game- Great job on finally increasing range of melee. I don't think it was enough though. Make it match the standard warlock melee. Striker: They're off to a good start but Strikers could still use a little more. Fist of Havok- It's just too hard to reliably get more than one kill with this super. I feel that they should have increased blast radius or maybe even allowed a second FoH to be used within a very short time frame of using the first. Neutral Game- Bungie's said themselves that strikers are supposed to be the most melee oriented of the Titans. Therefore make their melee match the longest melee of the other classes. I also suggest removing the timer on shoulder charge but leave the wind up time. Defender: They didn't do anything to make Defenders more useable. Ward of Dawn- Let's be honest, this is the worst super in the game. They need some kind of offensive ability. It just sucks to see your oppenwnt a avoid you like the plague when you use this. I suggest allowing the caster to shoot through this and possibly reducing its effectiveness to only block 75% of the damage. Another option would be to allow both Blessing of Light and Weapons of Light simultaneously when passing through and make them last the duration of the super so you can leave your bubble and have some kind of meaningful advantage over opponents. Neutral Game- Allow over shields on hit rather than kill. I haven't crunched any numbers on these, and they aren't some end all solution. Just some ideas I had for genuine balance. Let me know what your thoughts are. Maybe we can get Bungie's attention if we come up with something good lol :).

8 RepliesThe rise of the striker...

7 RepliesI wish bungie would grow a backbone and quit changing things that don't need to be changed because popular youtubers and "leaders" of the community complain and whine about it. Stick to what you designed in the first place.

Dude, Strikers are gonna be sweet. But Defender is love because Void is life

I killed a Sunbreaker earlier today with No Land Beyond. He was an idiot for rushing me.

2 RepliesThey said Solar Titans had a 1.06 k/d and later in the article that other classes had .91 to 1.06 k/d. Why did they nerf Titans when other classes apparently have the same k/d and the other 2 Titan subclasses are both at the bottom of the k/d range based on the graph provided. I hope those buffs substantially increase the Arc subclass' k/d. Sounds like Titans were sh*t in PvP before and with TTK got a subclass that put them at the top of the k/d range. So, now let's look at making some changes to them.
