I don't want to deal with "the raids are too hard" threads more than I have to. Or ToO is unfair blah blah blah.
Matchmaking for ToO does effect me and everyone who plays. It would dilute the competition and make the whole competitiveness that myself and others find appealing nearly non existent until game 6-7.
It really isn't that hard to find a group on LFG. Overall it will be a much better experience than getting out with 6 randoms who probably won't use their mics.

There are probably just as many threads complaining about lack of match making and having to LEAVE THE GAME to find a group. Competitiveness in trials? C'mon man, you can't come up with something better than that as an argument against match making? I'm moving on to other games because of no match making and so are others. Less people playing does not make this game more competitive. Besides, many of the friends I made in this game we're through match making in strikes. You don't have 1 valid reason to be against optional match making or an in-game lfg system. Not 1.
