(Posted this in another thread, but figured I'd make it it's own topic)
The problem with Sunbreakers and why they appear to be so overpowered is everyone running from them.
Of course it's OP when your back is to it.
Here's how to beat Sunbreaker when playing with a team (easier with fireteam, but totally doable with randoms, if they don't get scared and run)
1. Hear Sunbreaker
2. DON'T RUN
3. Space yourselves out a bit (you should be doing this anyway)
4. FOCUS FIRE (sniper rifles are great for this, but primaries work too)
5. Win
Pay close attention to #2 and #4, they are in caps because they are the most important!
Also, for those who will no doubt say I don't have the experience, this is my new alt character, I've been here since the alpha.

2 RepliesI think Stormtrance bothers me more than Sunbreakers. The range of Stormtrance doesn't make sense to me.
-
It's not running... It's tactical avoiding. In all honesty, staying in the air as much as possible is your best bet. The problem with that is you lose all of your accuracy in the air so you can't kill them. It's a give and take.
-
Or shoot him in the head two times with the Chaperone and melee him. That's how I do it, I'm just a slippery hunter xD
-
1 ReplyThis is like saying "see a cliff, go on and jump off"
-
Running from sunbreakers gets me to the lighthouse every week. Only when I'm near structures and buildings though. When in the open just do your best at jumping and shooting
-
Its like the part during oryx where you have to run around.
-
Personally, I've learned to just go back to playing my warlock, as a void Walker. Blink + Novabomb with my skull of Ahmkara or my Voidfang vestments.
-
Or stormtrance. Works for me
-
If you can save your life, save it. If not... then sell it dearly. >:-D

1 ReplyOr... Bungie could fix HoS. Not much is necessary, but it is still necessary. It is much more powerful than Arc Blade in Y1.
-
I use a similar tactic. I hear the HoS ring than distance myself safely where I can pop a sniper shot or 2. If the titan is distracted by my teammates I can usually finish him before too much damage is done. However if he's extremely close I get out quickly.
-
Headshot the Titan with Chaperone and he nearly died! That was like having $0.99 and the goods cost $1.00. Just not enough to do the job...
-
1 firebolt and 1 shot puts invalidity to everything you just said.
-
1 ReplyI DON'T RUN!!!......I infiltrate the other direction.
-
Yea, I can't do anything since I tend to stay in small enclosed spaces.
-
As a Sunbreaker, I love it when people run. You can pick them off piecemeal. When they space out and focus fire on you, you die pretty quickly.
-
So many variables come into play what do you do if it's close lol? Most sunbreaker wait to activate supers when they are near by which would make these tips useless
-
So just stand there and take a hammer to the face? No thanks
-
7 RepliesKjhovey said the best strategy is to run so...
-
if you're gonna run, just don't run toward your team. that just feeds them easy kills as they chase your red spot on the tracker and wind up facing three of your buddies down a hallway. if you're lucky (and they're dumb) you can lead them on long enough to let their super run out anyway.
-
Lmao, I'm not an idiot, why would I defiantly stand up to something I have no chance of beating, when I could avoid being killed and not concede points. If we as a group then I'd probably give it a go, Otherwise I'm outa there!
-
I agree if the team is on board. But that rarely happens. 0.0
-
Lol, you have no idea what you're talking about.
-
About 99/100 people run away because they are craven. Just look at this Iron Banner. The MLG tactic is "sit at the spawn with your whole team and camp" ...
-
2 RepliesI've killed multiple sun breakers by my self and I still don't agree with you
-
Well focus firing is kind of hard when the titan keeps regenerating health.
