Prior to TTK, it was possible to achieve the highest character level without ever having to LFG and without ever being forced to play with anyone else at all. It was a grind that took a couple of months for each character because multiple Iron Banners were needed, but the highest level was achievable playing 100% solo. Does such a path still exist for solo players?
EDIT1: I just asked a question. The majority of people making comments have made assumptions about why I asked the question and then criticized me for what they imagined were my motivations. To all of those people; you represent what is most wrong with this community and you are too lazy to even check tracker to confirm your "imagined reality" before insulting people based on your delusions.

Edited by loonigus: 11/18/2015 11:17:55 AMHaving to use EXTERNAL sites to search for raid fireteams is absolutely ridiculous in online gamig. It blows my mind that even after a year there is no in game fireteam finder. Some sort of NPC where we could setup our rules same is on LFG, but not risking into inviting ppl that lie about their stats and light level. Do you like to have ppl only on a certain light level? No problem. Set it to any value you want and ppl can join only that meet the req. Or do you want only ppl that completed the raid? No problem... Set it so ppl only with a full completion of the raid can join your team, etc... Noone would use that? Well maybe, but having just the option is worth it. Iam not from Australia, but iam sure mainly these players would very welcome such feature. Their TZ is late for American friends and to early for European friends. I have such a friend. He can play when he comes home from work which is morning when I get to work and when I come home from work it is almost 1 AM for him.

Yes, it still exists. The big barrier is 300 light, but its possible to pass that with (a massive amount of luck) blue engrams from strikes, strike specific drops and even easier with an exotic sword. Once you get above 300, exotic engrams can drop at 310, which in turn can be equipped or infused to keep your light level ticking up. Iron banner is also dropping 300+ rewards this time around it seems. Its a long long road, but it is possible, and the route is probably more straight forward than previously, its just more RNG based than actually doing specific things. Max light is, in theory, available to everyone which is how it should be.

i would like matchmaking honestly it does throw you in with new people so there's a challenge in itself and i want a shit load more mission don't care what kind but the only team play i dont want is pvp im a pve kinda guy so you play your way ill play mine

Match making for raids in this game is a horrible idea. Now a INGAME LFG board would be great to have in the tower/reef(lets give the reef a real purpose please...) But in any MMO style game. Solo players do not always max out in gear. In fact I have never played any MMO style game where a solo player had the max gear available.

They wont respond.

Edited by Mime Time!!: 11/18/2015 7:30:29 AMYuup, tired of looking for ANNOYING, IMMATURE, BIG and little, NO SKILL A-HOLES TO DO THE RAID / ToO With... I remember back when I was one of the few that was able to SOLO Crota Hard when dark below hm came out_ Orrr able to SOLO POE 28 32 34 (Pre-Nerf Quodron , Fire Prince) and solo up to Skolas before all these Scrubs started crying saying they were wayyy OP! If there was no poison to pass, I would've beaten skolas like nothinb upon release_ LoL #BEATER Teammates slow you down like CRAZY!!!! :3

6 RepliesWhy do solo-only players buy a shared world game built around cooperative play then act shocked when they can't do everything solo?
-
I thought 30 light IB gear wasn't available till the very last vanilla IB
-
The path of the solo player is slowly becoming the same path as the raiding players. Have you seen LFG lately? It's pretty bad.
-
...................nope.
-
Yes, as always through nightfall and RNG
-
Assuming you can handle 1v3 in trials and are named Jesus, you can ask your dad to give you his blessing and hope that Osiris gives you 320 gear. Good luck eh.
-
Even with a full friends list it's nearly impossible to get to max light
-
2 RepliesAwesome tried iron banner and it's only 280 stuff, ugh so basically at 46 bungie is telling me to get more friends. Took me 6 months to gather a bunch of guys I raided with and did iron banner then motorcycle accident , rehab, tbi issues. Now I figured well at least iron banner will allow me a few pieces of 300 gear nope... Sadly guys like me are casual pvp and raiders but I guess we don't count. Sad as I really loved destiny and looked forward to playing again last week. I can't even find 300 or higher items to level my gear with cause it's all trials or raid gear. So basically live at 294 light and do dailies. Thought at least iron banner once and awhile would have decent light stuff.

7 RepliesThe path for solo players is right onto LFG. Get over your 'oooh im so cool i dont play with others' complex and play the game properly.
-
You as a solo player are a perfect candidate for fallout.

6 RepliesIt was only possible to achieve in HoW which was a mistake. Quit being anti social
-
2 RepliesNightfalls can drop high level gear. Exotic engrams have a chance of decoding at 320. Those were the only two things I could think of.
-
2 RepliesSolo Trials. Get gear that way. You want to lone wolf it; fine. I play solo most of the time myself except when it comes to Raids and Trials. This game was never intended to be a solo affair. Before you complain that soloing Trials and winning is impossible check the data. NKuch and other players have soloed matches whether they were getting DDOS'd or on purpose.
-
4 RepliesMax level in TTK isn't like max level in year 1. There is literally no point in being 320 right now. Even if you were to be a player that does the raid you can't hit 320 without doing something weird with your artifact slot. 300 plus can be reached solo if you grind for it just like previously.
-
Yes; no $hit huh? Nothing like driving me to FO4 because Raids and Nightfalls don't have matchmaking. (And no, I don't wan't to hang around LFG forums)
