Create a Vault!

VaultTec is branching out into other parts of the Southern States of America. They give you the authority of the creating the vault, and they appoint you, Overseer. Elaborate on where your Vault would be, what number the Vault would be (Look up a Wiki or list of known Vaults), and what would be the experiment for the Vault? Ex.
Vault 119 located in Southern Texas, the experiment of the Vault was to see how humans interact when living beside carnivorous animals(Locked inside a barricaded glass chamber)
Was your Vault a success? Or did your Vault ultimately fail? What was the cause of its fail? Ex.
Vault 119 failed due to one inhabitant becoming so scared and insecure about the animals, that they became crazy, and found a way to break the electronic lock on the barricaded door, releasing the animals and unleashing a bloodbath.
The choices are yours, Wastelanders.

  • Vault 46 Original population: 252 Location: Louisiana Project: Genetic modification to humans. Tested to see if we can make the human race stronger, and more advanced. For example, we added wings, claws, better sensory organs, spine replacements, thermal vision, gills, reinforced bones, cloaking skin, list goes on. We even have fire breathing abilities from those geckos in Nevada. Failure: While the implants work with great success, one of the subjects received too many mods. He was the one who received the implants that all worked. However, power got to his head. He became psychotic, and killed everyone but 1 scientist who escaped. Subject -0 is most likely still alive. He's either still at the bottom floor, lurking around in the halls, or worse...out in the wasteland. Don't go to that vault...I barely made it out alive...

    • Vault 173 Louisville, KY Study setup: Occupants are all adults, ages 18-35, with no criminal history and no background of violent behavior. They are to be fed by an automated system that gives out just barely enough food to keep them alive, but never enough to stave off their hunger. While all of this is happening, they are shown messages from an overseer who continues to gain more and more weight over time, implying he or she is hording all the food for themselves while only giving a pittance for their general population. Vault security is to be present at the overseers office at all times, but no one is ever actually permitted to see them. Vault staff in general, as well as the population, will remain ignorant of the one true fact about the overseer. He doesn't exist. Results: Approximately 112 days after the event, tension is running high. Vault staff remains vigilant over protecting the overseer, but the general population is getting unruly and difficult to maintain. Day 234, staff gives in due to their own anger about the situation and begin to attempt to open the overseers office. Day 236, dwellers finally break the door down to reveal a concrete wall. Upon realization that there is no overseer, all order breaks down. Vault staff is murdered by the dwellers for suspicion that they knew all along. As was the intent all along, upon opening the door all food is shown to the dwellers to be destroyed, leaving them with nothing to survive on. Day 247, vault doors are open, exposing the remaining 114 dwellers to massive amounts of radiation that was contained to be forced into them in the event that they opened the doors. Most of the five hundred dwellers were killed to be eaten. Upon opening the first vault door they realize another door is actually present that they must open, but all the food is here and undamaged. Day 297, after a mass amount of suicides resulting in the realization that resorted to murder and cannibalism for no reason, 56 dwellers remain. Twenty are working on opening the second vault door, while the remaining 36 are succumbing to the effects of the radiation. Day 312, vault doors are open, but only 13 dwellers survived the effects of the radiation. Strangely, they have not become ghouls, as would be expected due to prior testing. Their mutations are minimal, glowing green eyes and pale skin. They destroy all evidence of the mass suicides and murders and begin to explore the wasteland. They seem to be using the vault as a home base. Day 647, the remaining group has come to call themselves the Collective and have begun to usurp control of the remains of the city. Day 7689, dwellers have collected all technology of the region and have taken control of Fort Knox. Day 65213, dwellers still haven't died, far surpassing any lifespan originally thought to be possible. Effects of the radiation seem to have improved every aspect of them physically and mentally. Some even appeared to have regrown limbs. It's still unknown what their overall goal is, as they've killed everything in the region, regardless of species.

      • Vault 213 New York City Setup: There are 41 members in the vault (20 boys and 21 girls (no particular reason)). Normal vault functions but every night they strap into a chair and sleep. Everyone's memory's are cleared so that they they think it's the first day they got their, accept for the overseer, who has to fill everyone in every day. When and if a overseer dies, a new one will be appointed at random. And to keep the overseer from just opening the door he/is because there is MASSIVE radiation outside. Day 3: The first overseer is already showing signs of stress. He has tried telling the other dwellers not to sleep, but has had little success. Day 21: The first overseer commits suicide. The new overseer is a female, has 2 young kids she brought with her. She manages to have her kids sleep in rotation (each kid sleeps every other day). The child that is awake, helps convince the others. The overseer does "favors" to get people to stay awake. She hits a total of 5 of the 41 dwellers. Day 67: All dwellers are convinced of the memory wipes. Day 77: Dwellers begin to grow crazy, due to lack of sleep. But standard functions still continue. Day 81: 7 or so dwellers decide to leave the vault. There is a small uprising, killing 2 people who stayed. The vault door is close, but a malfunction lets small amounts of radiation in. Day 93: Vault dwellers grow crazy because of lack of sleep. Some of them kill themselves. Total of 12 dwellers left. I'll add more days of anyone requests.

Vault 218... located somewhere in New Mexico Vault dwellers are selected based on a handicap, the inability to speak. The vault tech reps recruited persons with the disposition of "we can cater to the needs of these special individuals while housing them in a state of the art facility" in the event of nuclear world destruction. Families and individuals are persuaded to agree, and no one is allowed admittance unless they are both mute and able to communicate via sign language. 1 day prior to nukes dropping all 129 residents are admitted to the vault and orientated to their new lives. Daily duties are assigned and rooms occupied, the dwellers go about their new lives. Once inside they quickly realize there is no living vault tech staff. Only Mr. Handies. The position of overseer is an oddly painted purple, Mr. Handie. On the 2nd day Mr. Purple as his designation dictates, calls the entire vault into the mess hall for the weekly meeting. First on the agenda is, pipboys. "All residents of vault 218 are required to wear their pipboy at all times". "Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action". The residents begin to furiously sign to one another in confusion over this "disciplinary action". Second on the agenda all residents are to respond with their designated call sign now being uploaded to your pipboys. Failure to respond will result in disciplinary action. Again confused signing back and forth from residents. Now at this point Mr. Purple calls upon resident Dennis Haven, call sign number 1. "Number 1 report your status". Dennis approaches Mr. Purple hand signing he is present and well. Mr. Purple repeats "number 1 report your status". Dennis pauses realizing he is expected to speak. How is this expected? Vault tech knew none of the residents could speak when they were recruited. "Final warning disciplinary action eminent, number 1 report your status". Dennis standing in front of the entire population looking around for help is struck with a blue arc from Mr. Purple. He didn't even hear the crack of electricity as 50,000 volts surged through his body. Dennis layed incompacitated on the floor, alive but unconscious. The population of 128 residents are now visibly scared. A few people notice the train of Mr. Handies glide into the room. Unable to count there numbers at a glance but 128 Mr. Handies now ringed the room. One Mr. Handie for every resident. In unison the call out, "Number __ report your status!" Gliding forward with arc arms charged and crackling they advance on the jostling panicked crowd. Looking around wildly the crowed surges for an open doorway attempting the evade the Mr. Handies. The first few residents are struck with 50,000 volts and dropped limp to the floor. The rest trampled over them in a panicked rush to saftey. Hot on their heels the Mr. Handies repeat in unison "halt and report your status!" With such a narrow hallway and limited space everyone could not reach safety and was struck down. Attempting to bar doors and hallways quickly the resident attempted to organize themselves but without the ability to speak this proved difficult with mere seconds to prepare for the overwhelming assault of Mr. Handies. "Failure to report has escalated disciplinary action". Residents who managed to bar a door to the nearest room stared in horror as Mr. Handies rotated their lower mechanical servos and activated their flamethrowers engulfing residents in flame. The fighting went on for the better part of an hour with 32 residents dead and 12 badly injured. The residents who could not run to safety had turned on their attackers and picked up anything in reach mops, tools, broken chair or table legs used as weapons. Many sacrificing themselves to protect others. In the end the Mr. Handies were driven back to the mess hall and the door locked. While cleaning up and taking the dead or injured to the infirmary someone realized Dennis was locked in the mess hall with all the Mr. Handies. Peering through the window the residents could see Dennis lying on the floor still unconscious. The collective Mr. Handies ignoring him. By 1 am everyone was resting asleep, exhausted from the days events. Suddenly a strangled scream is heard throughout the vault. Resident awake confused. Is it a bad dream? No others could hear it. Again a ragged scream, this time a few residents could tell where it was comming from. The mess hall. Rushing to see what was happening, the motion detection light flickered on illuminating the hallway and finally the mess hall. The resident scanned the room and quickly noticed Dennis in the center of the room surrounded and restrained by Mr. Handies he was being periodically electrocuted by them. Burn marks could be seen in several places on his body. Then they noticed Mr. Purple hovering near the door. The intercom crackles on, "open the door and number 1 will be released". "Failure to comply will result in his termination". "You have 5 minutes to comply". The group looks to each other searchingly. They argued back and forth. "Leave him one woman signed" "what's one life to save the rest of us?" "Surely they will run out of power soon enough right?" Said another man. "Yes, they can only power themselves for a month or so before needing maintance!" "Let's just wait them out, Dennis would do the same to any of us I bet". Unable to communicate there decision the residents just walked away. Returning to their rooms Dennis was uncomfortably pushed to the back of their minds. The Mr. Handies waited exactly 5 minutes and then turned on Dennis. Not a sound was made. The mess hall was avoided like it housed plague. None wanted to confront the dead vault mate they had abandoned to the vengeful Mr. Handies. And within a month the floor of the mess hall was littered with mechanical corpses. The residents had been living off reserved rations and recycled water. All the food exhausted they were forced to open the door to the mess hall and face what they had done. Knowing they would have a large mess of Mr. Handies and a corpse to clean up the residents gathered in force. The remaining population in the mess hall looked around, Dennis no where to be found. The all to familure sound of a pneumatic hiss from the door as it closes grabbed everyone's attention. Looks of surprised shock and confusion flashed on the residents face as they stare looking at Dennis on the other side of the door... now locked. Dennis's pipboy heard through the intercom sounded off. "Execute order number 1". The Mr. Handies previously laying lifeless on the floor began to power up. Dennis walked away from the locked door hearing the screams of his fellow residents, who had left him for dead....

        • This is a pretty long one, so I've put the long parts in the spoilers. Sorry if some parts don't make sense, it's really late. Vault 35 Location: Bismarck, South Dakota Experiment:
500 Dwellers were pre-selected from the population of Bismarck to live in the Vault, selected because of their varying social statuses and tendencies. Although 500 Dwellers were selected, the Dwellers were told that there were only 250 people selected to live in the Vault for reasons that become apparent in the experiment. When the bombs started dropping, Vault-Tec officials each took a 250-Dweller group and took them to the Vault in separate vehicles. What the Dwellers didn't know is that Vault 35 was actually a complex composed of 2 identical Vaults, named Vault 35-A and Vault 35-B, with entrances on the opposite sides of the complex, with each entrance being out of sight of the other. For 30 years after the Vault was sealed, the two groups lived out their own routine, completely unaware of the other group living right next to them. For the purposes of the experiment, regulation was fairly lax in both Vaults, and the only regular schedule implemented was meal times and a curfew. The rest of the time was reserved for the Dwellers to do as they pleased. However, the curfew was strictly enforced, and security officials made sure no one stepped out of line. Although both Vaults lived in identical conditions, each Vault developed their own unique culture and lifestyle. For example, in Vault 35-A, a structured, punctual routine was established and enforced through peer pressure, while no such routine was established in 35-B. The experiment itself was twofold. The first experiment was a test of purely observation: the Overseer wanted to observe the establishment of differing cultures in identical environments without Vault-Tec interference to see how a isolated societies established above-ground would function and grow in the Wasteland. The second experiment was a test of social resilience: they wanted to see how the Dwellers would react when their natural order was disrupted. After 30 years were up, a Dweller was chosen from each Vault, sedated in their sleep, and moved, along with their possessions, to their corresponding living quarters in the other Vault. When they awoke, they would find themselves in what they thought was their own Vault, but with an entirely different lifestyle. The experiment was about creating the illusion that all of the Dwellers' friends had been replaced by complete strangers overnight. For the next 5 years until the Vault opened, the social order and mental state of both the moved Dwellers and the rest of the group were closely monitored.
Results:
Partial success. The 35-A Dweller that was moved to 35-B experienced intense emotional shock initially, but slowly recovered after about 2 weeks and fell in with the rest of 35-B. Being used to the stratified social order and strict routine of 35-A, he had no trouble fitting in with the more relaxed disposition of 35-B. After about a year, he was fully assimilated into 35-B and didn't think anything of what had happened to 35-A. The 35-B Dweller was an entirely different story. He was chosen because he already suffered from low-level psychosis, but was able to control it effectively. The shock of being thrown into 35-A magnified these tendencies dramatically. Whereas the 35-B Dweller had recovered from the initial shock rather quickly, he spent weeks without leaving his living quarters. His psychosis developed into paranoia and eventually lead to severe psychotic episodes. He was convinced that everyone and everything in 35-A was a figment of his imagination. This eventually reached the point where he had convinced himself that he was sleeping in his quarters in 35-B and that he had to find a way to "wake himself up" to escape 35-A. This led to numerous incidents of self-harm and one attempted suicide, which led to his detainment by Vault security. After the suicide attempt, 35-A slowly descended into anarchy. The Dweller managed to "break free" of his security escort (they let him go intentionally) and he called a meeting. He told the other Dwellers that he believed that the Overseer had sealed the Vault indefinitely, and that the only way to escape was to make their own way. This was, in fact, a posthypnotic suggestion implanted by the Overseer before he escaped security as part of the experiment. While most dismissed it as mindless rambling, some found truth in his words and decided that they would break free of the Vault. Within a few short months, they had gathered all the supplies they needed and built a makeshift drill to punch a hole in the Vault wall and escape. During this time, a schism had formed between the Escapists, as they were called, and the other Dwellers, and animosity burned between the two groups. Eventually, a violent civil war broke out. The Escapists had already secured most of the weapons in the Vault's Weapons Depot and easily disposed of the other Dwellers. By this time, only 30 of the original 250 remained. As it turned out, they broke down the wall that divided 35-A from 35-B, and absolute anarchy ensued. When confronted with an almost identical Vault, the Escapists believed it to be some sort of mind trick triggered by the Overseer. As a result, they massacred the entire population of 35-B, including the Dweller from their Vault, thinking his appearance after all this time to be just another trick. At this point, the entire Vault was in utter chaos, and damage control was simply not possible. The Overseer decided to discontinue the experiment and open the Vault. The 30 remaining Escapists decided to go their own ways, and they are now scattered across the Wasteland. The first part of the experiment was considered a success. Despite identical conditions, unique cultures formed in each Vault. The second phase showed that assimilation was possible, but an emotional trauma on that scale serves to augment psychotic tendencies and paranoia. The 35-B Dweller who started the Escapist movement disappeared in the chaos following the breaking of the wall, and no one has seen him since. He is officially listed as killed in the massacre, but some Wanderers have told stories of seeing a deranged man roaming the Wasteland, muttering to himself about waking up.
Vault 100. St.Louis, Missouri Infants ranging from 8 months old to 15 months old are to be abducted or "donated" by parents across the state. 100 infants total. Sealed in a self-supporting vault with no workers/Secruity besides 20 Mr and Mrs. Handy robots. Vault will store enough supplies and food to successfully operate for 25 years. Robots will care for the inhabitants for the entire duration of the experiment. Robots will begin testing SPECIAL at 10 years old to determine future roles of inhabitants. Robots will then began teaching inhabitants respective trades(to include but not limited to, maintenance, doctors, overseer, cooks, secruity) based on SPECIAL testing, and also basic survival and self-defense classes. Pip boys will be issued at age 15. At this point Robots will take a back seat to the children and let the children decide how to operate the vault, simply providing guidance as needed. During the the experiment, the inhabitants are to be led to believe that this is the way the world is, with zero understanding of what happen outside or that there even is an outside. They are not allowed to know there even is a vault door leading to what's left of America. They will effectively believe their vault is the world, and there's nothing else. History of the vault will be made up, along with vault heros and tales. On the first of the 25th year, robots are to be deactivated and the vault will open.

            • Vault 88, located in Fort Worth - Texas The vaults construction was finalised on May 21, 2072. For the next 5 years, the US government and Vault Tech worked together to select 500 inhabitants based off a specific criteria. .The individual is between the ages of 18-45 .The individual has lived a life prior, free of crime and violence .The individual is an animal lover, they own or have owned pets in the past .The individual is part of one of the many animal protection agencies, situated within the state of Texas .The individual is against the consumption of animals and is either, "Vegetarian" "Vegan" or "Macrobiotic" After the selection process was finalised, representatives of Vault Tech were sent to the residence of each individual. There, they were interviewed and asked to complete an application form. Not knowing, they had already been pre selected. So not to raise suspicion those with families were given group interviews, but were told the selection process was a lottery and entry for all could not be guaranteed. Before parting ways, residents were told waiting time between applications would take roughly 3-4 months and any decision made would be mailed to them thereafter. 16 weeks later, Vault Tech released letters to the chosen 500. They read; ------------------------------------------------ "Dear Sir/Madam We are glad to inform you that your application to become a resident of Vault 88 has been a success. You are now officially 1 of the 500 lucky citizens to be chosen. Below, we have compiled a list of items you may want to bring for the duration of your time in Vault 88. .Photographs of loved ones .personal belongings with sentimental value .Personal entertainment systems .Your favourite music .priceless possessions .Items of worth after the fallout The items listed are not necessary, but may make life inside the vault easier and more homely. Please be aware that supplies such as: food, water, clothing, medication and personal hygiene equipment will all be provided by Vault Tech and will be readily available after the induction process into the vault. Therefore, we must ask you not to bring any of the items listed in this paragraph, into the vault. It should also be noted that due to limited space inside the vault, you are asked to bring no more than 30KG of personal belongings. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Thank you and from all of us here at Vault Tech, welcome to Vault 88. Yours sincerely, V.T ------------------------------------------------ For the next 5 years the 500 went about their normal everyday lives, until October 23, 2077. Vault Tech must have been informed by the US government that the bombs were about to launch, within hours the 500 had been rounded up and were already beginning the induction process. Before entering the inner sanctum of the vault, behind the giant 3 tonne cog door. Individuals were stripped of their clothing and issued Vault Tech overalls that read "88" on the back, symbolising the Vault they're committed to. They were then sent through a decontamination process to cleanse them of contaminants such as micro-organisms, hazardous materials, chemicals, radioactive substances, and infectious diseases brought in from the outside. Shortly after, the 500 were greeted with a pleasant surprise. Each individual was given a puppy to raise as their own, a companion during these harsh times. Something they could fall in love with. Due to genetic engineering and a marvel of science, the residents were ensured that they would never have to worry about their dogs passing. "Your puppy will grow to a full size adult, but it will stop there. He or she will never age beyond that point, you have a companion for life" This was brilliant news for the 500, during such catastrophic times.. They needed a little something to keep their spirits up. And so life in the vault began. Years passed in the vault. The pups were fully grown and well into adulthood, they and their owners had developed an unbreakable bond, inseparable in their daily routines. However, this was just the beginning of a sadistic and disturbing experiment specifically tailored to the dwellers of Vault 88. It was on December 12, 2082. The overseer issued an announcement "would all members of Vault 88, excluding their companions please attend the conference hall immediately". The 500 shuffled in to the hall to hear what the overseer had to say, it must have been important as meetings of this scale never happen. The overseer, standing atop an overlooking balcony, high above the residents pulls out a sheet of paper. He lowers his glasses to the end of his nose and proceeds to read "It is with great difficulty, that I bring you here today. To reveal to you, some disturbing information. It would appear, we did not foresee the extensive amount of time, required to cleanse the earth of radiation. We unfortunately have come unprepared for such a duration, and as a result, our supplies are all but depleted" Screaming and shouting erupts in the hall as the 500 panic, the thought of starvation swamps their minds. "Please, calm yourselves!" The stern voice of the overseer. "I have but one solution, I cannot say it's pleasant.. But it could be the only way of surviving" he took a deep breath before continuing. "Your companions.. Your companions could be the solution to your problem. There are 500 dogs in this facility, capable of sustaining life for the remainder of your duration" for a moment the room was filled with silence, not a whisper could be heard from anyone. "So you expect us to eat the closest thing to family we've got?" Came a voice from the back of the room. The overseer failed to hold back a sinister smirk, "That is exactly, what I want you to do" with that he turned on his heel and walked back into his office. The plan all along, was to take 500 animal loving individuals and see if hunger could drive them to becoming carnivorous, meat eating savages. Days went by, the 500 refusing to eat their best friends, their family. But with each passing day the hunger grew stronger, the dogs themselves became hungry and began to snap at their owners. One dog in particular however was loyal to his core, he and his owner seemed to have something far stronger than the rest. They comforted each other and fed off what little scraps remained. Not even half way into week 3 and it was all too much for the residents of Vault 88. The hunger was too strong, they had succumb to their animal instincts and began preying on their poor companions, however this was not completely one sided. Vault Tech did not anticipate for the dogs to turn on their owners, before long dogs and humans were tearing at each other, ripping shreds of meat from the bone. If you weren't involved in the chaos, you were hiding, fearing for your life. And that's exactly what the man mentioned earlier did. Starving, and weak, but he refused to become what he had witnessed. He hid, stuck behind a desk in one of the social rooms. He lay quietly, dog beside him. "It's ok buddy, it's gonna be ok. Don't you worry, I won't let anything happen to you" his dog looked at him, a face of understanding... The smash of glass pierced the silence, a flurry of bodies running past the doorway. The man jumped to his feet, headed to the door and peeped out. Blood filled the corridors, the walls painted in it. He followed the footsteps of the others, they led to the hall. A makeshift ladder lay against the balcony to the overseers room. They'd broken in, murdered the overseer and feasted on his corpse. The people of vault 88 were no longer sane human beings, they'd formed a kind of group, not only eating their pets, but each other too. They were nothing more than cannibals. The man took his dog, and returned to hiding.. If the radiation was still out there, he stood a better chance than in here. He waited until dark, the voices of the others echoed down the halls, far away from the main Hallroom. This was his chance. He grabbed his dog and made a run for the makeshift ladder, tripping on the first step and making a loud bang. It alerted the others and he could hear their footsteps closing in on him. He propped the ladder back up, picked up his dog and climbed as fast as he could. He threw the dog through the broken glass first, "go on boy, run" the dog waited, he would not leave. The man climbed through with the others hot in his heels. Running towards the giant cog door, in the heat of the moment he'd forgotten to activate the terminal. Ordering the dog to stay by the door until he returned he ran back to the terminal. The door began to slide open, he knew they would follow him out if he didn't close it.. Thinking only of his dog, when he passed the opening the man immediately re activated the door. The dog turned as it began to close, running towards the man "I love you boy" he shouted as the door closed shut. The man smashed the terminal and accepted his fate, the cannibalistic residents of vault 88 swarmed him and began ripping him apart. On the outside of the vault the dog scratched at the door and whimpered, he remained there for several days before accepting that he would never see his master again. Only one survivor made it out of Vault 88 that day. Some say he's still wandering the wasteland now, in search of a new master. Someone who is as devoted and loyal as he is. Still, this is just an old urban legend... I mean who names a dog "Dogmeat" anyway?

Vault 313 Location: Detroit, MI Experiment Details: Following the aftermath of a nuclear fallout, 200 individuals; male or female will have been chosen. Said individuals will have had to meet specific requirements. They are as followed; a criminal background of any sort, age does not matter, and health does not matter. Currently incarcerated individuals DO NOT qualify. Our main goal is to see how individuals with a history of 'violence' respond to nuclear fallout and when pressed with hardship how they react to certain situations. October 23rd, 2077: The US government had given V.T. a heads up one day prior to the nuclear fallout. All 200 had been gathered and safely taken to Vault 313. (The Directors logs: viewed through cameras within the vault) October 24th, 2077: With only the Overseer and the ten staff stationed, the two hundred were all situated into their rooms within a day. This, and other things, had come as a surprise to me. No injuries reported, everything moved rather smooth. Past experiences with incarceration may play a vital role in how successful Vault 313 will be... Or its failure.

                        • Vault 224 Located in Atlanta, Georgia. This Vault was made to house a very small number of people, about 150 to be precise, and a large number of scientists and security, around 75. The claimed purpose of this Vault as said to the Vault Dwellers was to experiment on their mental conditions after this dramatic experience, but the secret purpose of this Vault was to genetically mutate humans with a specific kind of abomination found out in the Wastelands. This was part of a family of Vaults all doing the same experiment, but with different abominations. Vault 225 was to use the Mirelurk, Vault 226 was to use the Radscorpian, and Vault 227 was to use the Radroach, but for Vault 224? Well.. It was to use the Deathclaw. Weeks after the closing the Vault, Dwellers started to become a little curious as to why there was so many scientists just for a simple mental exam. What really was happening was beyond their expectation. During the night, when all Dwellers were asleep, specially armed teams would hunt down and secure a few juvenile Deathclaws for the experiment. 3 months after the closing, the experiment was ready to start. The first day of October, the first Dweller was chosen to be mutated. Scientists sneaked into their room and carried them to an elevator that would take them down to the lab. The experiment was harsh and very inhumane, but it was successful. Kevin McCarol, is the world's first half-human half-Deathclaw, on October 7th. More and more experiments took place until about 23 of the Dwellers became complete monsters of horror. That's when the the remaining Dwellers noticed the shortage of people and started to question security. Eventually they outraged and attempted to take over the Vault by force, but the scientists decided it was time to test how their creations lived in a diverse society. The aftermath was bloodshed. Bodies everywhere, scientists too getting caught in between the fight between man versus creation. On the day, the few remaining scientists contacted the other family Vaults to see how their experiment was holding up, but only two Vaults answered back. Vault 225 was experiencing heavy protest and had to stop their experiment after only successfully mutating 7 Dwellers. Vault 227 was experiencing very successful results as they managed to mutate 80 of their Dwellers. They sent their remaining security to go examine what remained of Vault 226. They never returned. As for the scientists, they eventually became very delirious and crazy, and either starved to death or committed suicide. A total of 21 of their creations still live in the Vault, feasting on the remains of the fallen ones or any of the Dwellers.
