My wife swears gaming in an immature thing, I have been gaming for at least 15 years.....someone shed some opinions on this
Update: I only play maybe an hour a week.
I have a 5 year old who my wife says she doesn't want him playing at all, hence why she hates me playing. This bothers me due to my background in video games. What is a possible solution?
Edit-Thanks everyone for your replies, they are very helpful in this unresolved ongoing issue.
Thanks everyone again

Edited by Humanpudding741: 11/10/2015 9:19:13 PMGive your kid a DS and he will probably never put it down, then the gamers will outnumber the non gamers in your household. Then with sheer numbers take back control of your family. Your Welcome.

Tell her not being in the kitchen is immature...
-
-blam!- her in the ass. She'll think differently after.

It's ok when you're 24. Just not like all day. I mean most of your time should be spent with your family but a few hours a day or so gaming isn't so bad.

💙💭 Because you opened this. you will get kissed on Friday by the person you love or like. Tomorrow will be the best day of your life. Do not break this chain. You have 2 minutes this is not a fake...apparently. Forward this to 15 people in the next 15 minutes and you WILL have the best day of your life tomorrow. You're number one crush will either KISS, ask you out, or call you. If you break this chain, the little girl named Kaitlyn who died 2 years ago on a car crash will be in your room TONIGHT! Good luck <<3, and your time starts, right know No Cheatin

Do you leave near a steep hill or small mountain? I can show you how to cut the brake line in your wives car. JK

1 ReplyPut your foot down, my ex used to be so against me gaming, would come in and turn off my console mid session because it was "sad" and "immature" I got sick of her doing it pretty quickly, gave her a piece of my mind and talked about how I don't call her hobbies immature ect, she still didn't get it but she didn't want another black eye so didn't bring it up again.

You're obvious not obsessed with games, it's not getting in the way of your job and raising your family. So immaturity here would be trying to rule over your spouse

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Dismantle wife, yes?
-
Tell her to -blam!- off

I say play asking as your wife isn't home. She probably thinks that you are putting gaming her. Go to a friends house every other week to play games.

1 ReplySucks for you, my girlfriend and I game together. I would tell her to shut up and continue sucking

Sock here in the jaw Kek

Divorce seems the only option, shouldn't rush in to marriage if you didn't know she hates gaming
-
Divorce is a good play in this situation

Your wife is being unfair. For example my friend's family all play video games each with their own PC and 3 monitors. They're fine.
-
Don't pay attention to it, man up and play your game. You give in now man, you're doomed. Plus it turns girls on secretly when you stand up to them every once in a while on an issue that's important to you, trust me.

Edited by cancum2011: 11/11/2015 11:04:27 PMYeah like hell it is
-
Then why is there mature ratings on some of those games?
-
1 ReplyI'm 27 and game everyday. Sure my wife says I should game less but than I say she should suck more that'll stop me from gaming as often. Just saying.

Not true

I'm 26.. My wife is fine with it provided I don't spend all my time playing. She understands it's one of my hobbies..
-
I'm 24 my ex-wife says gaming is immature Fix'd
-
Damn son, you're 24 years old you'd think that your nuts would have dropped by now.

It might be my rebellious instinct kicking in but I don't think anyone should have a right to make anyone feel bad about their hobbies and interests. Did she know you liked gaming before you were married? Yeah? Well that's her problem because she knew you liked it and married you anyway. Now I know arguing with spouses is delicate so you still might want to establish that A) she has no right criticising what you like B) its not her place to tell you what hobbies you can or can't enjoy C) it will be a cold day in hell before anyone tells you to give up a hobbies you only spend an hour a week on anyway D but out of the goodness of your heart, you're willing to make a compromise and buy a second controller for her. That's what I would do.
