Black ops 3 will kill destiny
Will ALOT of players already gone for halo 5, since Bungie isn't doing anything new...well they will lose even more players with black ops 3.

We see a run of these bait messages every time a new game comes out. Destiny is just different. Loved Cod back in the day but other than zombies I'm not hearing too much. And a majority can play more than one game. Batman, Madden, and Mlb take up some time for me. Just go play cod and we'll be here.

8 RepliesI don't think Black Ops 3 by itself will be enough to pull people away from the game, and I don't believe that there is any one game that can "kill" Destiny. With that said however, Destiny is heading in to uncharted territory over the next few weeks, and there may be a storm on the horizon. There is a lot to be dissatisfied with in Destiny right now, and I'm sure there is at least one thing just about everyone can complain about in Destiny right now. From Weapon Part shortages, to Microtransactions, to the grind, to terrible loot drops, and everything in between. I'm not saying there is nothing good, because I still enjoy the game, but definitely not as much as I did when TTK came out. What Destiny faces now is its most difficult task yet. People claimed Advanced Warfare would kill Destiny, and that Elder Scrolls Online would also kill it, along with the <insert new flavor> game of the month. Yet, Destiny endured. Some Guardians were lost along the way, but the game trudged on. Destiny has benefitted over the past year from no real contender, let alone two heavy hitters at the same time. Advanced Warfare was from an unproven studio that tried to do too much, pushing a lot of people away, and Elder Scrolls Online was a bust out the door because of all the controversy surrounding the console and PC launches. Witcher 3 was very nichey, as was Dragon Age. Halo 5 is a XBox One exclusive, when most of Destiny's players are on the PS4. All of the aforementioned games don't benefit from weekly content resets either, which is part of what brings people back week after week, and keeps Destiny moving forward. Now, Destiny is up against two beloved franchises in Fallout and Black Ops. Established franchises that have large followings. Alone, I think each makes a small dent in the Destiny player base, just like every other game up to this point, but together, depending on how good the games actually are, and how content filled they are, have a chance to put a significantly larger dent in the Destiny player base.

1 ReplyI got halo 5... Love the multiplayer... It's way better than destinys pvp.... But there is nothing like destinys pve and it will always bring me back... I still do my nightfalls and raids.... And after I'm done with all that then I play halo till weekly reset. This fan base is committed.. And people might take breaks to play new releases... But we all come back... Nothing will kill destiny besides destiny

People said Halo 5 will kill destiny but it didn't even leave a dent in the population. I'm pretty sure BO3 will do the same or maybe a little more, but no matter how many good games are released, people will never be able to save themselves from The Grind.

Same sort of thing was said for Elder Scrolls Online, MGS5, and many others. It will be said again and again, but there will always be people playing Destiny. Get over it, stop making posts like these. Destiny is far from dead.

Didn't Destiny actually grow? I mean, 25 million players REGISTERED (Maybe not playing, but registered) is quite a lot. I heard it went from 20 million to 25 million in a couple of months. -[i]The guy with no house.[/i]
