My raid group fights every time about this.
Edit: Very good points.
Edit: I don't think I have ever read so many good arguments on a post. This is like debate club.
Edit: Summing up.
Oryx is teaching a class on a ship in a theater how to count to 4 counter clockwise while drinking a half full or empty glass of water.
Edit: This may have gotten out of control.

2 RepliesIs the glass half full or half empty? Depends if you're filling it it's half full, emptying it half empty. So by that I'd say if you are entering a room it's the front and the exit is the back. The front of the oryx room to me is where you enter

6 RepliesWould you walk in to a room through a door and look at the wall at the other side and say lets go to the front of the room?

From Oxford dictionary; the definition of "front" 1.1 [IN SINGULAR] The position directly ahead of someone or something; the most forward position or place: she quickly turned her head to face the front It's relative to a person's position. The direction you face is the front. When sitting in a class, you face the front; typically where the chalkboard is. The door to the room might be on the side of the room or in the back, but the door does not determine the orientation of the room. The door on a school bus is on the right side of the vehicle. That does not make the door the front. The door is towards the front of the bus, but it is still on the side. The front is the forward most position when sitting on the bus. In a movie theater, the door can be on the opposite side relative to the screen's position, or it can be on a wall that runs perpendicular to the layout of the screen. The door does not determine the forward most position. It's relative to the direction you are facing when seated. The front of the house is determined by by its position relative to a street. Most people will first see the house from the street, and that is the front. Once inside the house, each room orientation is determined by the way in which people interact while inside, which usually involves a television. Some people will say that the door one walks in is the front, if the tv is opposite of the door, that would be the back. However, if you're on the couch, and the kids are in front of you getting your line of sight, do you say, "down in back!" or "down in front!"? Tl;dr Oryx is in front

My group doesn't even worry about front back left or right. We assign a platform to player one to run spark and then a permanent float. where ever oryx goes we call out oryx is going to then and that the last plate is free and can work ogres.
-
My perspective is that it's not really a room. It's a big area. When you walk into an amusement park, where you enter and see all the attractions is the front. The back is what's all the way on the other side of the park. I'll probably just call the oryx side the front since 80% do, but this was just my perspective on it

Oryx is the front,
-
7 RepliesTechnically it's a ship, so the front is where oryx is and back is the door you come in. With that being said it isn't left and right, it's port and starboard. Ahoy
-
Edit: Summing up what I have read. Oryx is teaching a class room on a ship in a theater how to count to 4 counter clockwise while drinking a glass of water that might be half full or empty.

When sitting in my chair, let's say the tv is at the 10 o'clock position, you would turn to precisely 2:53...

14 RepliesWhere the doors are has no pertinence to this encounter. Where oryx is does. Makes more sense to make him the point of reference.
-
2 RepliesIf you are thinking of it as a stage then where oryx spawns is the front But I can see why people call the door the front because The front of your house is where the front door is.
-
2 RepliesDefinitely where oryx is. Think of it like a stage: stage front is where the audience is and oryx bought a ticket to ur play..... only to wickedly murder him :muah haha:
-
36 RepliesOryx does not determine the front of a room. The room determines the front of the room. It is not a theater, there is no stage. The reason we have stage left/right house left/right is because entertainment venues of that sort conflict with the normal conventions. When you walk into Golgoroths room you say the adds spawn from the back of the room not the front..
-
7 RepliesCenter of attention is the front for me. Aka where oryx spawns. Therefore that is the front and the door we entered from is the back.
-
1 ReplyEdited by ⛧Sinagos⛧: 10/22/2015 3:03:20 PMOr when people are jumping on platforms, you can just refer to it as a spiral staircase leading to the relic to avoid confusion.
-
1 ReplyThe door is not the front. The door is the entrance. The entrance can be at the front or the back of any room. The front is where the attention is given. Like a movie theater or live play. The front I where oryx spawns. How is this hard.
-
Does not matter
-
4 RepliesWell I'm facing oryx, he's in front of me. So that is where the front is.
-
2 RepliesThe front is where you focus most your attention.
-
2 RepliesIf you think of the room as a theatre, Oryx spawns on stage, which would make it the front.
-
1 ReplyThink of oryx as a stage. Where your center of attention is. Then you will find your answer. You base positioning on where the center of the attention is. Anywhere.
-
Oryx is over the front of the ship
-
6 RepliesI think the theatre would be the perfect example. Oryx is the big screen, the door you entered from is in the back.
-
5 RepliesBasically the majority of people who play this game are idiots! It would annoy me when people called the two possible teleports against Atheon as "Mars" or "Venus". FFS it's the same room from two different timelines, both of each are on Venus! The front is the entrance, where you walk in. I've played with people who use this logic when they fight the Wizards, then their re tard brains switch it against oyrx. I cri evertim

There is no spoon! Excuse me while I grab my popcorn and watch from the front.....I mean back.....I mean.... Moves to the middle row......
-
Every option is right so long as your team all agrees on what you're calling it. I personally prescribe to the logic that directions should be based on spawn directions. You spawn facing Oryx. Behind you is the door. So spawn = back and Oryx = front IMO.
