My raid group fights every time about this.
Edit: Very good points.
Edit: I don't think I have ever read so many good arguments on a post. This is like debate club.
Edit: Summing up.
Oryx is teaching a class on a ship in a theater how to count to 4 counter clockwise while drinking a half full or empty glass of water.
Edit: This may have gotten out of control.

3 RepliesDepends. What does counter clockwise mean?
-
Another example in a classroom the door can be on the side or whereever. The front is where the teacher is
-
3 RepliesIf denote the 'FRONT' as being where Oryx is then it would have to shift. First to the far side away from the door, then to either the right or left halves as being the front. As looking at Oryx fits the 'use' definition of front (ala the teacher/classroom example). That would be too confusing. Best to use the 'viewed' definition which means the pillars near the door or front right and left. These definitions would never change and always remain objectively accurate. Therefore 'FRONT' is at the doors.
-
LOL IM DONE
-
9 RepliesOryx is not the front. The room revolves around you including oryx. As you enter the room anything closest to you is the front. Looking forward while just entering, everything farthest away is the back. The room stays labeled this way. If not, when you're fighting daughters in the same room using theater logic the front and back would be flip flopped or even considered right and left.

8 RepliesEdited by vxvxTITANxvxv: 10/22/2015 7:49:23 PMI usually walk in through the front of a door, bringing me to the front of a room because of logic. I do understand how people are seeing it the other way though.
-
6 RepliesOryx isn't even in the room, why would you base your call outs on that? The only focal point actually in the room would have to be the door. Plus, Oryx moves around. If you want to assign front and back, doesn't it make more sense to do that with the fixed objects/features? When Oryx rotates, you surely aren't changing your call outs are you?
-
4 RepliesNever knew this was an issue.... Front is at the doors
-
2 RepliesLol people are making it harder than it needs to be. For me, the first 2 near the door are front and the ones furthest from the door are the back. Calling them 1234 and ABCD? I guess
-
This is the dumbest thing I have ever seen people argue about.
-
Why do you need to call out front of back? For jumping??
-
I would say based off the doors, becuase it's easier saying it the same way as we do with daughters.
-
Oh this tangled web we weave ...
-
I'm here to watch the world burn: Both sides are wrong. Oryx falls towards Saturn when you kill him, meaning where he is is down.
-
2 RepliesThe question should be.... Where is the front of the ship? Is oryx hanging off the back of the ship or is he clinging to the front? If he is hanging off the back of the ship then his side is the back. If he is clinging to the front of the ship then he is king of the world
-
Usually just yell people's names when they have to jump.
-
6 RepliesWhenever I'm fighting Golgoroth, I refer to the two orbs closest to you when you come in as "front left" and "front right". For consistency purposes, I also label the two closest platforms to me when I walk into the Oryx room as front left and front right. If you call the Oryx side the front then you better call the orbs farthest away from you the front orbs during Golgoroth, too. Otherwise you're a hypocrite.
-
22 RepliesSo 22% of the people will go to the front rows of a cinema when they have high nunbers? And will tell the teacher in school that they are sitting in the front of the teacher whilst sitting in the last row just because the door is behind the last row?
-
With the logic of having the door be the front, there would be no backside because everything is in front at that point.
-
The orbs in the GOLOROTH fight that are closest to you are the front left and right.. The plates closest to you from the door are front left n right
-
I raided with randoms last night and they were calling where the doors are at, the front. It was really annoying.
-
Mfw people have dedicated paragraphs to this topic.

2 RepliesEdited by MOOSAPOLUZA: 10/22/2015 5:38:58 PMDoes that mean we enter the oryx fight through the back door? No wonder he is mad at us
-
3 RepliesFront is where oryx is. When you enter the room, the door will be behind you. Behind you was jumping puzzles, golgorth, warpriest, totems, relics. Do you want to go back? Didn't think so. Oryx is in front of you when you come from the doors. Therefore being the front of the room. Just like when you enter a classroom. The door is way at the top, but the teacher is way at the bottom with their giant chalk board. You're paying attention to the teacher the whole time aren't you? Making that the front of the classroom.
-
8 RepliesIt's like a movie theatre. The doors you walk in are in the back. The screen is the front.
-
2 RepliesIs the glass half full or half empty? Depends if you're filling it it's half full, emptying it half empty. So by that I'd say if you are entering a room it's the front and the exit is the back. The front of the oryx room to me is where you enter
