The first clear with one character with 20 shards give you double drops on oryx. For example without the 20 shards you wouldn't have gotten the weapon or the 2 shards, one or the other

You can get shards for 20 shards

There's no such thing. The shards you are getting from the chest itself. the item you are getting is for the shards. Yesterday I got hereafter at 310 and shards.

Edited by S0ulBearer: 10/15/2015 8:11:47 PMNo, it has a CHANCE for shards, along with a CHANCE for weapons, but only ONE of them. The 20 shards is an additional drop. I received a double raid hand cannon drop last week.
