Guys, I've been scrolling through the forums. Reading arguments to justify these micro-transactions.
Person 1:"MICRO TRANSACTIONS DO NOT BELONG IN A $60,- GAME!"
Person 2:"Ah dude, don't worry. It will get better, they will use the money we donate to them so they can get us some free dlc.""
Me: Person 2, we have to sit down and talk. We know micro transactions are a thing now, in Destiny. But where the fùck did you get the idea the consumers would get free DLC? Where did you get that from? A gamers site article? Did they really confirm we would get free DLC? No. Nobody involved with the game development and the funding of the product has told us about it. I'm telling you, the next DLC will be VEX based, and will continue to cost you twenty bucks. If not, well shame on me. Bungie/Activision might have even paid these sites to write about this free DLC speculation, you don't know for sure whether we are actually gonna get free expansions. The source is not AS reliable as you might think, dear reader.
P.S How do you change names on Bungie.net?
TL;DR
People who think we will actually get free dlc thanks to this micro-transaction implementation should be more sceptical.
Edit 1: So people are trying to tell me Bungie did tell us we will get free DLC, please citate what Bungie said. I really can't find it. However, I do think this is what people refer to: "Our plan is to use these new items to bolster the service provided by our live team for another full year, as they grow and create more robust and engaging events that we’ll announce later this year. It has been, and continues to be, our goal to deliver updates to the game. Going forward, our live team is also looking to grow beyond vital updates and improvements to focus on world events, experiences, and feature requests"
This was from the Tess Everis Trading Co introduction. Please tell me, when did Bungie say we will get free DLC?
Edit 2: Guys, you may assume there may be some small anount of content pushed out throughout the year. But that's not my point. The citation above here doesn't tell us anything about actual, free dlc. Be sceptical, not gullible.
Edit 3:
Sounds like it's going for development and support of the games live team. To streamline patches and such. The closest it comes to mentioning anything like free content (besides patches that are already free) is 'World Events', and 'Experiences' but honestly that sounds more like more Iron Banner or More grinding for random bosses in Patrol.
Thanks ShankillJack for clearing this up in the comments

2 RepliesNever a mention of 'free DLC' but rather small pieces of content. http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2015/oct/06/destiny-introduce-microtransactions-future-content-drops-free

Everyone got that from a kotaku article. It was the same article that first mentioned the micro transactions. I think people just assumed since the micro transactions were true the free dlc must be as well. This is exactly why I always say you can't believe everything you read on the Internet.

I agree. I'm very skeptical. They might implement a bogus: "Player must own 10 emotes* to qualify for "free" DLC." * The free emotes do not count towards this total. Oh and I'm thinking its cabal. The vex were the main enemy in original story line. And the mission to investigate the cabal transmission ends with Zavala saying the transmission was directed far outside the system to the cabal hierarchy. Add to that, after you kill shield brothers one of the lines Cayde can say is (paraphrase so not exact quote) "somewhere some cabal flunky is getting a message that all the cabal leaders in this system are dead" Cabal need a raid!

Interpret that as you like.

Who cares

The free dlc magazine article was from a member of activision, the publisher of Destiny. They give the green light on when to release stuff and how to release it. And even more to the point, if the dlc is not free I will still continue to buy it. Because I enjoy the game it is coming for. There is no logical reason you could present to say that I shouldn't spend my money however I want to.
-
Even BBC and Times reported it as free DLC so wait for the shitstorm when Bungie announce 40$ for next release. :)
-
Bungie has not confirmed this but, Kotaku did hint that it might happen
-
The kautao (or however tf it's spelled) article has some info, think they got an interview with bungie.
-
People who trust Kotaku are idiots.
-
I'll pay for the micro transactions and the dlc, it's worth it to me

1 ReplyDude...it says Free DLC on a random ass website so it MUST BE TRUE.
-
I thought it was in the weekly update?
bby don hurt meh
-
2 RepliesWell, it's been on a gamer site so why can't it be true? Every anti microtransaction poster obviously had secret knowledge that the games going 'pay to win'. The forums were full of the 'this is just the start' rubbish. Guess we have to wait and see.
-
Good i will pay the 20 plus the emotes i want to buy i dont really care i enjoy the game
-
2 RepliesI've been telling people this but no one believes me ;-;

When the day finally comes and they put a price on dlc... lol gg.

4 RepliesBecause bungie said so? That's where we got it from

I've been trolling through the forums as well op

Bungie announced that we will not be receiving a dlc till the fall. They said they will be releasing more content and missions between now and then, but not a free dlc. The next DLC will not be $20 as it will be Destiny 2. They are pushing only major DLC's from now on, so your $20 Vex DLC is not a thing. Don't get your information from something that was data mined over a year ago.
