When it comes to bosses. Stormcalllers contribute nothing

The stormcalller subclass provides nothing to endgame content. No buffs, no extra tankiness, no extra damage. It's borderline useless. Going back to the other two. [b][i][u]EDIT[/u][/i][/b] After some digging I found it https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/157826558/0/0 Community seems to think warlocks are the worst class for the raid. Gonna need you guys to think on this one first. Before you comment. It's not titans because the dps capabilities of sunbreakers and the defensive capabilities of defender. And it's not hunters because of their nightstalker subclass.

  • Honestly, every class has its duty in the raid. I've done raid five times(sorry if it sounds like it but i dont want to brag) and i've noticed that if your missing a class, the raid becomes offset in a way. SPOILERS INBOUND: For Warlocks 1)Voidwalker for Warpriest, use Vortex plus a teather is real good for DPS 2)Stormcaller is key to Golgoroth, once Taken spawn, 1 or 2 Stormcallers can focus on Taken as the rest DPS Golgoroth 3)For Daughters/Oryx either Stormcaller for ads helps and Sunsinger can help because that Tomb Ship, enough said Titans: 1)Warpriest Ward of Dawn with Weapons of Light really allow for massive damage 2)Another bubble with WoL next to the pools really help, especially when teamed with teather 3)Daughters/Oryx a bubble can be a saviour, especially for Oryx, if a person dies before the stun, there may not be enough DPS, however a WoL can negate this and save the entire duel Hunters: 1)Nighstalker for Warpriest as this plus WoL and Nova Bomb can and will wreck him as you can snipe as the damage over time does its job 2)Nighstalker for Golgoroth not only generates orbs for those Stormcallers and that bubble, but it does a dramatic increase to damage with the pool of reclaimed light 3) Daughters once again the bow can kill ads, spawn orbs for bubble, and expel those deatgsingers 4)Oryx a hunter in mid with quiver can help 3 people with their LE Ogres, if a hunter does have year 2 celestial nighthawk, it can almost guarantee a stun on Oryx if your team has trouble on that part That is why every class is special in its own way and ties into teamwork when it comes to bringing the King down.

  • Stormcaller was never designed to be useful against bosses. Entering close ranks with an Ultra is suicide because of Stomp and we all know that. The same truth can be said for Bladedancer, which contributes nothing to killing majors. Where Stormcaller and Bladedancer both excel is in killing adds and it is the role they should be taking.

  • I don't know...a good add clear during any of the new bosses is more clutch (IMO) than a few seconds of extra damage. Personally, I find the warlock to be just as vital to the raid as much as titans or hunters.

  • If you have to worry about making sure you have all the damage buffs on a boss to beat him, you probably should reconsider some things.

  • Arc subclasses weren't meant for endgame content. They favor solo/crucible play.

    Warlocks are by far the most unnecessary part of the group to efficiently complete the raid. They offer no perk to increase DPS on the boss like titans and hunters do. Best used to generate orbs with nova bomb for the team. The titan and hunter new subclasses both feel more well thought out. The Warlock seems kind of bland and generic. They don't really do anything a supercell can't do anyway. Also, Sunsingers don't help during the raid very often. Unless you are under very specific conditions, they don't add much like they did in the first 2 raids. Example: If you die on a platform, radiance does not provide any value.

  • Sunsinger is best for the raid. Stormcaller is good for tier 1 adds but thats it.

  • Eh, I don't mind a stormcaller on Oryx if I am running defender, but I would rather they be sunsinger majority of the time.

  • I think my game is glitched. I'm able to switch subclasses whenever I want. Even when I'm fighting a boss.

    • I can teach you a thing or 2 about Stormtrance. Its the most OP pve super, and its excellent in numerous situations during the raid. Haters gonna hate.

    • Warlocks help clear ads. Golgoroth storm breaker is useful. Useful on sisters and oryx. Just pop it clear ads and make orbs.

    • Against the boss it is trash. Against the adds the boss sends it is priceless.

    • Be nice and let the warlocks be in your group. They've cheesed you through plenty of Templar fights and saved a whole bunch of headaches in nightfalls. Warlocks can still shoot and take care of plenty of adds. It's time for the Titans and hunters to pay their debt.

    • The Stormcaller subclass is -blam!-ing amazing for clearing g hordes of adds. Super lasts longer, chain lightning further... You can burn through hordes of adds so quick. Well, as long as they're not majors hahaha. I definitely prefer Defender/Sunbreaker and Nightstalker. Those are my two preferred classes.

    • Im pretty damn happy with it myself, blinking around zapping everything to dust is by far my favorite part of the game right now. Plus, if you don't think add clearing is viable enough in and of itself and you can't do plenty of damage to a boss without your super... I don't know how to help you

      • I contribute orbs, by killing massive amounts of adds, so we have tether and bubble for whatever boss fight

      • pulsewave, love it, will never use anything else on that tree. It buffs reload speed too, not just movement. Unsure if the reload speed affects teammates too.

        • With Transcendence I can wipe out both spawns on undying mind and do a bit of damage to the boss. It depends on the particular player mostly but Stormcallers are certainly capable of wiping adds and some DPS. Plus my Alchemist Rainment give me plenty of sniper ammo to work with.
