That's a very very low statistic. I think Bungie must be licking their wounds a little now, it's a shame that such a lot of effort and creativity is being put into endgame material that the majority of played won't experience.
I wonder what year 2 and 3 will bring.
I can see matchmaking and redesigned raids (for matchmaking) in the future.
No disrespect to the players who killed Oryx. Well done guardians. I've watched the streams and videos it looks great.

1 ReplyNo, people are just bad and or stupid. People are use to all the easy, cheesing bullshit, they have no idea about teamwork. And the amount of dumbasses who don't know what counterclockwise is, is mind blowing.
-
Disagree completely.
-
I agree
-
2 RepliesThe way they designed the raid for (so far) no cheese, no soloing, is a good thing. But I don't think bungie realizes how large the percentage of their playerbase is that will never be able to get a good group of six together who can communicate and fill their roles.
-
2 RepliesI do not think it is unpopular at all. It is just a lot different than previous raids. This raid highly focuses on overall teamwork and in most (not all) everyone has to pull their own weight. Unlike previous raids where 2 people could carry the other 4 through. A really good 2 man group can only carry (from what I've seen) up to the sisters/daughters. This is where it gets really for man guardians. From here for some reason some guardians just cannot make jumps and are poor platformers. That one guardian can screw over the rest by not being able to platform. And at oryx the biggest issue I see is people not being able to drop their ogres quick enough. Again there could be that one guardian who screws over the rest, the others get frustrated and leave. TLDR; Raid is popular, just requires everyone to pull their weight/ it's harder to carry scrubs.

1 Reply1 million attempted. Only 88k succeeded. It was still popular, it just wasnt easily overcome for most of the community.
-
People just can't beat it. If you read the weekly update from the first week it was released, at that point a million guardians tried to defeat king's fall, with only about ninety thousand succeeding (that number has undoubtedly gone up). So it's not a matter of being unpopular, moreso a matter of being a damn good and fun raid to play.
-
It's supposed to be hard. Just imagine when the release the HM. Number will probably be way lower.
-
I play with a lot of people that are older, have jobs, kids, all that jazz. I haven't been able to do it for that reason.
-
No people just can't beat it
-
It was fun. Really fun. 'Nuff said.
-
I work too much, and this game has too many things going on now with quests and secret loot from missions and new PvP and everything that I have little to no time to raid.
-
No it's just no one will play with anyone in the group who haven't done it so loads off people never had chance.
-
thats only the groups that KILLED Oryx not how many have tryed and failed there are tons of people grinding light and trying to get on raid teams but honestly its a little to much for some players then you got all the casual players that cant spend that 2+ hours to get your team right to clear the raid (i say 2+ since thats how long it took us to clear it when i ran it with a group of 5 friends who never made it pass the 2nd boss and we got all chest to) there is a lot of comunication needed to beat this and also you need to be able to deal enough damage on some points and i still think not many understand how to do this clearly at this time that number will go up shortly i know many that have cleared it with teams of players that have never and they are in turn helping others so soon more and more teams will be clearing it. also bungie has to be happy they made this one a challenge and 12K fire teams is all that managed to beat it so far but the true question is 12K fireteams = ????? many players since some of them would of cleared it with multiple fire teams
-
1 ReplyApparently people can't comprehend that it's only like the 3rd week the raid is out and it's by far the most complex so.......
-
1 ReplyI've completed the raid 6 times it really isn't that difficult you need good communication and the ability to learn the mechanics
-
Most stop at oryx
-
Id rather do a twenty minute strike....
-
4 RepliesIt's the best raid ever. Just requires a lot of team work. It's hard for shy Randoms to hook up and beat it. And lately I've been coming across Randoms with no patience who yell and intimidate new players.
-
I see it's more so people can't complete it. and from the forum I thought it was 87Kplus But I see everyone with checkpoints And people can't get through. I've beaten it on all 3 characters and twice on my Titan
-
I'm waiting for most ppl to actually know how to do it before I jump back into it. I don't have hours to waste helping others figure it out.
-
4 RepliesIts that too many people dont know how to do the raid and its hard to find a good fire team using the forums.
-
All groups i run through the raid exit fireteam as soon as they have the oryx cp I think the mechanics are too much for some people who have no patience
-
I think their number calculator is broken. I've beaten the raid 6 times now. Probably do 7 today and I'm sure there are people with a couple more. If everyone has done it that many times that's only 1,714 people total. I call BS.
-
No?? Millions attempted
-
I don't think the numbers are bad considering you beat it only once a week. I run the raid twice on tuesday and that's it.
