Why are people still playing Vault of Glass, Crota's End, and Prison of Elders?
I want to level up my Year 1 gear and collect them all too, but is there any point? The only reason I still use Year 1 gear is if they have abilities that the Year 2 gear doesn't.
EDIT: I'd love to play the raids and PoE with maxed-out Year 1 gear but I'd have to require that on the fireteam, and I'm not sure how many people would be up for that. I would love to destroy the bosses with maxed-out Year 2 gear though.

Vog and crota give materials Materials=motes of light= faction reputation= more legendaries=better chances to get better weapons

1 ReplyPoe is a good way to farm coins and motes but other than that most of the year one content is irrelevant now i hope they add a new difficultie with new rewards eventually.

I want to try Y2 weapons in Y1 raids, I saw a video the other day of a team taking down crota in 2 kneels with nothing but swords, looks like fun!

I play the raids for materials so I can turn them in for glimmer/motes to rank up my guns and factions, Prison elders? Ran it about 4 times and never went near it again.

I recently did crota again because a couple of my friends remarked that oryx can't be mad at them because they had never killed him in the raid. Decided to go through normal with them and pretty much carried them through till crota showing them all the mechanics and different tactics, and now they want to try hard mode and VoG and Skolas.

I always wanted a horde mode and was hoping that PoE would be that but I never really liked it at all. I love the old raids though.

The materials, great source of motes of light and glimmer. And the experience, why limit yourself? Poor new players, probably won't do the old raids and PoE
