The One About The Xbox 360 Collector's Edition Standalone Content

Dear BUNGIE, As you are well aware, Xbox 360 folks (including myself) unwittingly purchased The Taken King for $40 via the Director at 2:00am Pacific US time (or maybe some of you did this at a later time...) and then went to buy the $20 collector's edition upgrade. Then we discovered today that the Xbox 360 will NOT be getting this. There are many reasons why this is frustrating and feels 1) discriminatory against the 360 players and 2) just plain old unfair, but I will not go into them here, as I am sure you have heard and read a lot about them over the past 24-48 hours. Please consider the following as a potential solution you could look at implementing to avoid a complete Xbox 360 players' union meltdown: You COULD make the $20 CE upgrade available via the director in-game. That would definitely help you, help us, and make your Xbox 360 customers VERY happy. I hope to hear something like this will be implemented. I DO want to throw money at the screen, but I'm not going to purchase Destiny and all three DLCs twice. Please make the CE upgrade available IN-GAME via the director; you could even do it for a limited time until a future hotfix or something. That would make a Warlock with a short fuse cool down immensely. I was just REALLY looking forward to purchasing the CE content. Yours truly, TheForgeborn P.S. Thank you all at BUNGIE forums for putting up with my sh!t and everyone's complaints and for the devs and staff working so hard on TTK, etc. I do appreciate that; it's just hard to think about that when I'm experiencing some real frustration about this issue.

  • 360 is old gen it's been pushed to its limits think you might need an upgrade (all content should cross over I did it)

          Listen, at this point I hate to be the one to say it but i dont think were ever going to get the Digital Upgrade Pack. Its been a week and Bungie has done a good job at ignoring our topic here... Am I upset? Yes, very. Heres the thing though. Im tired of being rude and hateful towards Bungie. Im tired of resenting my decision to not get the 60 buck pack. Im tired of sitting here and complaining. So Bungie. I have one simple request, and im going to ask in the most sincere and honest way possible. Could you please tell us why we didnt get access to the Digital Upgrade? Was it a problem within Bungie? An issue with Microsoft? No one knows because you have reamined silent about this issue for the past week. Does this reflect negatively towards your customer relations? Yes. Will i ever use Bungie Forums for help after this? Probably not. We asked a question. "Why arent we getting this?" Was it the nicest way? Sometimes no. Sometimes yes. Did you choose to ignore us? Sweep it under the rug and pretend it didnt happen? Yes. You did. Now was this your higest priority? Probably not. But regardless a portion of your fan base was unhappy with a decision, and instead of giving a concrete answer that we were looking for you ignored us and never talked to us about anything. We were one of the highest rated discussions on the help forum, often trending, and you never bothered to give a response. That hurts... Were we rude? Perhaps. We were promised content that we were all excited for, we got our wallets ready, smiles prepared and when we went into Destiny and bought The Taken King, we quickly looked to find the $20 Upgrade pack only to find... Nothing. This post has been big, decently big, large enough for current gen players to come in and post "Get rekd nerd" or "upgrade you idiot!" and yet when we look to you guys for an answer your response has simply been... Silence. Not acting is an action itself. I know you can look at this and ignore it, forget it, and continue on with your job, but I sincerely hope that you give us a response. Deep down we all love this game you have created, and i know ive had a blast playing it, i love what you all have done, but i feel hurt that my console is the only one to not get access to this standalone content. Yeah its some dance moves and some subclass stuff but its not so much the content but rather the lack of communication as to WHY we didnt get the content... To wrap up a long post im simply going to ask you, Bungie, in the nicest way possible. Can you please tell us this? Why was the Xbox 360 the only one to not get the Digital Upgrade Standalone?

            Bump because promises should matter. Because common decency dictates that you at least respond. Because your ongoing silence takes our frustration over an inconsequential in-game prop and makes it a personal affront.

              FYI for those considering returning TTK: I spent almost 2 hours on a chat with Microsoft/XboxLive trying to settle a double-billing issue with expansion packs - to no avail. I spent 5 minutes on the phone with Gamestop (in Natick, MA) where I bought TTK and they were perfectly willing to accept my return. Friendly, helpful, the opposite of MS and Bungie. Conclusion: Fantastic customer support Gamestop. You've earned a customer here!

            • I can be patient while they fix the audio issues, unannounced abnormal user account restrictions, and long downloads, but I have a real moral issue with feeding hundreds of dollars to a gaming company that refuses the common decency of responding to its paying customers.

            • Captains log, day 5: No official word yet, no explanation. Hope is beginning to run out, everyone is becoming more and more restless.                 • Honestly, I wouldn't be so mad if it wasn't available on the 360 at all but seeing people that bought the CE version with the new emotes dancing around has me wondering "Where the hell is my CE upgrade Bungie?!"
