Due to the growing number of idiots who stand sheepishly by, I will no longer capture any zones in Control. The stats prove it. I've lost the last 5 games in a row, because I decided to only worry about my K/D and not capture zones.
This sucks... because I now realize how much harder K/D ego players make my game. Only if they played the objectives properly. I used to play offensively and take zones, well thanks to you guys, who never respected what I did anyway... it's now done and over with. Congrats for making everyone's game just a little harder. Cheers
EDIT: A lot of players seem to be in the same situation. What if zones could only be captured/neutralized with 2 or 3 players?

2 RepliesThen play clash
-
17 RepliesPlayed a game where my team held A and B the whole time. Still lost because of kills.
-
2 RepliesThey are not doing it right to begin with. It's starts out as one person capturing the zone then one other person on point to protect the exposed areas from flanking. More than one person can do this but nobody can do it right because they believe they are playing rumble rather than control. The purpose of control is to defend each other while acquiring spawn points for more strategic advantage. That's just the military man speaking though so I guess it doesn't matter at all it seems
-
1 ReplySo, you hate people who don't cap, so because you hate them because of that YOU won't cap? Oookkaayyy...
-
Zone control game mode will be your saving grace
-
Once, when I played iron banner a long while ago, my team got rekt by sweaty try-hards when we had capped all three points. Needless to say, just goes to show you how incompetent some people are. It's pretty sad.
-
I ALWAYS go for points over kills regardless of any other aspect when playing that part of crucible. Forget about what others do, as long as you follow the games guidelines.
-
4 RepliesYou get more points shooting someone in he face, especially close to a capture point, than actually capturing it. Actually, it only act as a strategic spawn in the end, and kd obsessed players ignore it altogether. Personally I think the whole point of it got lost, and they should give a bigger incentive for actually capturing the point (even making it slower for a bigger reward maybe) to give this mode some meaning.
-
Sir id like to invite you to a group i made with a friend, we feel the same as you do. The group is called: control the points idiots it'd be great to get our group going with like minded people
-
3 RepliesKD is just as important.
-
1 ReplyI cap points till were ahead by roughly 2k.. if its an easy match ill just go farm kills but at least i know how to actually play control so when we start to lose i bring it right back up... cant say the same for my teammates im ALWAYS carrying
-
Its only a problem when more than half the team is doing it, and doing it badly. If you have 3 "grinders" and 3 capturers, you're set. Cap 2 flags (a/c and b) Dont get kill thirsty and push too hard Profit
-
That's why I play Clash.
-
Those people who literally run by as you try to capture the zone
-
That's what Clash is for
-
This is why I no longer play control.
-
Play clash then
-
Clash...
-
I do the same thing. Oh wait, I play clash. Nm

2 RepliesI hardly ever take zones because as soon as I see a teammate taking one I defend the area rather than stand next to them with huge targets on our backs. Sometimes the smart play is to support rather than be like a moth to a flame because a zone is there. Clear the area then have one player take it while the rest watch the flanks. But I'll still get people like you criticise because at the end of a game I have 'selfish' stats.

9 RepliesHow about this...I kill and alot of people...and take a lot of zones...mind...blown...

The problem may lie with ppl not knowing which ones to hold it does make a difference. Points are not designed to be even sometimes point A makes it easier to assault point B than point C does. So if you start at point C, take point A while they assault B. Then you can flip the map to make it easier to assault more points thus gaining more overall scoreable points to win. I know that was confusing. If you have a direct path with no obstacles to the middle point from your spawn point you can send ppl their more easily which will give you an advantage. Sometimes you have to take a new spawn point to win.

1 ReplyOr you cap the two easiest points and defend them like a boss......
