Timed exclusives are OK but not a year. They need to either shorten it or give Xbox exclusives so each console just gets something at the end of the year. But without Sony paying for it, it would probably not exist. If Activision and Bungie was smart they would offer something to Xbox so they could make more money.

 • The point of offering in-game exclusives for a cross platform title isn't for one console to have something the other doesn't. It's for one console to have everything the other does, plus an extra bonus to persuade undecided consumers to buy their product. If Sony purchased the right to offer exclusive content and bungivision then gave exclusives to Microsoft, Sony would be less than happy. Depending on the legalese, Activision/Bungie may even be in breach of contract if they give exclusives to Microsoft.

 • That's why I gave the other option of making a shorter window of exclusivity. 1 year is too long. If Activision keeps making exclusive deals like this with Sony. They are going go kill off any support they have on Xbox. I'm waiting to hear what kind of deal they struck for the new Cod. If it's like destiny's deal it's just going to further piss off Xbox players. FYI I have both a Ps4 and Xbox one. I think Activision is starting a horrible trend that will cause more publishers to adopt this kind of deal. Right now Sony has this exclusive but once Xbox gets some type of 1 year timed exclusive deal Playstation players will start complaining.

 • Even if they did offer something to Microsoft, it wouldn't guarantee that Microsoft would pay.

 • They can offer all they want, but if Microsoft declined the first time, I'm sure they'd do it again. They didn't want to spend the money then, why would they put more money into a game that's going into its second year? They're most likely already looking forward to new games, not year old ones.
