Bungie has become progressively worse at making weapons and armor since launch.
Bungie, fix it, now! I promise, the day you announce that you are letting us level year one gear to the new max level, I will buy TTK. If you don't, I doubt very seriously that I will buy it.
Edit: I erroneously reported that Matt Miller did not like the TTK weapons. He was referring to HoW weapons, not TTK. While it does not change my point, or my mind, I do apologize for any confusion I may have caused.
Edit 2: Cosmo says don't destroy your year one gear. Here's a link.

Not a upgrading things gives you a reason to play the game

Edited by Robby216Wu: 8/4/2015 5:56:32 PMPerhaps its time to move on

Not bothered at all I have no problem moving on.

6 RepliesEdited by Dsylexic1025: 8/4/2015 5:52:09 PMDestiny is a FPS/MMO hybrid... On any MMO have u ever used tier 0 gear all the way through tier 3? Besides very specific (maybe 3) weapons, no gear is carried over. New content, new gear, new stuff, new grinds. Emphasis on new levels, and new stuff. New weapons and gear, to clear new content. Notice I said new? Get with the program, every Halfway successful MMO has had the same type of progression since mmo's started with Ultima, EQ, etc. Destiny IS a MMO on a FPS platform. Done. Shut your pie holes, buy the pre-order like you already did and look forward to new, fun stuff.

1 ReplyMakes sense. Though raid weapons and gear I always felt should be their own category. I feel like they show a major accomplishment
-
1 ReplyHmmmm. This puts me back at the position I find myself in. For me to play this game which I can find entertaining and satisfactory, Bungie reels the audacity to -blam!- my wallet and time... again :(
-
Good, ready to say goodbye to the old junk
-
3 RepliesInteresting because I find the armor has gotten more and more interesting since the release....also the different weapon abilities are getting better for the most part.

3 RepliesEdited by Hagalaz-27: 8/4/2015 5:23:20 PMI just hope that the "new and interesting perks" for TTK weapons are actually NEW AND INTERESTING. I sharded most of the HoW weapons I received because at least a third to a half of the new perks sucked ass, to put it frankly, and the remaining new perks that didn't suck as badly didn't make up for it, and weren't worth sacrificing Glimmer, weapons parts, and a live chicken to RNGesus in the hope of getting something useful. Graverobber? Replenish? Hot Swap? Triple Tap? The list goes on...

2 RepliesWhat about exotics?
-
And this is why I'm contemplating on buying it , I shouldn't have to adapt to having to grind for gear and guns all over again if I'm still playing the same damn game . I can understand leaving out gear behind in destiny 2 , but seriously ? That just decreases the overall value of the whole game if the gear we are grieving for is just going to render being obsolete , again a year from now
-
12 RepliesThis is the right move.

14 RepliesDude it's -blam!-in garbage year one guns. There are going to be much better guns with much better perks. How the -blam!- do you have this much nostalgia over a -blam!-ing piece of gear? Your guns aren't the -blam!-in memories of your deceased family members, let it -blam!-in go.
-
Why force change and not just make it player choice? They should be appealing to me, not flat out making my old weapons obsolete. For the record I collect all Iron Banner weapons. Esthetically I like the look of the IB weapons as a pose to most of the other weapons. They all have a color scheme or something just looks off about them. Ex: a big blue rocket launcher looks kinda dumb.
-
I don't think I'm gonna get TTK now.
-
Bye Fatebringer, and almost every weapon in my vault.
-
Huh..... Interesting

Goodbye Shadow Price and Light Beware

8 RepliesSo what if its not upgradable, COD doesn't offer a transfer or ascension of weapons. Can you name what games have? I have no idea on what games so please inform me.
-
12 RepliesHave any of you ever played an RPG or MMO? Whenever higher level gear and higher difficulty content is released, your old gear becomes less useful. It's not completely useless at first, but as you use it to earn better gear, it obviously becomes irrelevant. The time used to get and level up that gear isn't wasted, it's used to earn the next tier of gear. It's so incredibly common I don't see what the huge uproar is about...
-
Yes finally a reason to stop playing this game until ttk comes out. I don't have to level anything anymore because it will be all junk.
-
2 RepliesI figure they would be. Bungie is trying to avoid increasing vault space so they are making older weapons obsolete so the players will dismantle them.
-
6 RepliesEdited by Kill Shot641: 8/4/2015 5:37:40 PMThis is bs. I wanna be able to use my fricken shadow price. I want to keep the FATEBRINGER I grinded endlessly for. If my Found Verdict is getting destroyed, I might have to forget this expansion and move on to another game. Screw u bungie
-
I hope we dont get our old guns upgraded. Thats stupid. Move on. Let go of the gun.
-
Gear becoming obsolete is inevitable, they're scrapping the light system so there is no need to use them to level, you could basically be a level 40 with all white gear but low defence.
