CONFIRMED! Year One Gear Will Not Be Upgraded For TTK!!!
Bungie has become progressively worse at making weapons and armor since launch.
Bungie, fix it, now! I promise, the day you announce that you are letting us level year one gear to the new max level, I will buy TTK. If you don't, I doubt very seriously that I will buy it.
Edit: I erroneously reported that Matt Miller did not like the TTK weapons. He was referring to HoW weapons, not TTK. While it does not change my point, or my mind, I do apologize for any confusion I may have caused.

The game has to move forward, we cant expect to carry the same weapons for the lifetime of the game, its one of the things that can make the game stale. Keeping exotics is good enough, good move by Bungie imo.

Except they neglected to mention how they know this. The only source they cite is Luke Smith, and it's just a generic quote saying that there will be "new toys" and "better versions" of existing weapons. I guess you [i]could[/i] infer that year one weapons will not ascend based on Smith's ambiguous comment, but that would be pretty speculative.

The legacy raids will still be included in the new DLC so wouldn't you still want those weapons? Also if they don't bump the difficulty of those raids they become obsolete/a joke... Which means even at the level cap you could slap down Crota or 2-shot Atheon. IF they replaced the old raid weapons with new ones I'd be all for it, but the grind is real on this game!!!!

Good. I'm tired of using the same weapons for all high-level content. The discovery of new weapons for both practical and aesthetic purposes is what made Vanilla (and even the DLC) a lot of fun. I'm sure they put a lot of time into designing new weapons with new perks. Just give them a chance. Really.

Better servers, better multiplayer, better story, etc. Nothing against destiny, because it is fun to play, but man I am excited for Halo 5.

10 RepliesI know I'm in the minority here but I'm seriously having doubts on buying TTK the way Bungie is moving forward with all the PvE nerfs and the possibility of not being able to ascend your gear. We will go back to wear the same shit like before and we all will look alike...boring. I know I'm the minority but I think if this is the case I will be done with Destiny.

Never expected to bring old guns up in this dlc. I won't be surprised if there is a way to bring them up in the last dlc of the year. with the size of this dlc there was no way they'd let us find an item that allows us to just use fate bringer and vision for everything.

8 RepliesWhen The Dark Below came out all the original weapons became obsolete and nobody cried about it because there were newer better guns out there. My only request would be that they allow us to level up the damage again on the new ones like they used to so all new guns can reach max damage without having to grind for etheric light.

I wasn't expecting to be able to take everything but I hoped to be able to upgrade at least one gun. Oh well. I'm keeping a few of my main legendaries just for the hell of it (super pox, fulcrum, crpyt dweller, ill will and hunger of crota) and my ghost angel cloak but I'm prepared to scrap the rest. Anyone see any mention of increased vault space or are they just expecting us to erase everything?
