Nerfed Gally won't be asked for any more by lfg after a while
I continuously see people saying that lfg's will demand Gally even more than before. They might. They already demand it as much as they can. I don't have a Gally. Do I want one? Yeah. To make the game easier? Nope. I use a 365 Hunger. I have done every endgame activity without a Gally and did it well. I hope that with the nerf [spoiler]it [i]is [/i]needed, whether you like it or not [/spoiler] people will realise that you don't actually need a Gjallerhorn for anything and that people will notice that other launchers aren't actually that bad.
Thoughts and opinions are appreciated, elitism not so much.
Edit: People seem to be looking towards TTK weapons to fix this problem more than the nerf itself. Interesting to see how much people can depend on gally as well. How do you guys think TTK content will affect the gally lfg situation?
I'll reply more tomorrow, I've been doing this all day.

2 things: 1) I don't understand why ghorn is needed.. It's nice to have, but not needed. I've beaten everything PvE has to offer without ghorn. Even skolas. 2) People make a big deal about people asking for it when they can make their own post. I feel people just don't wanna make a post and wanna blame someone asking for ghorn to join them, as to why they aren't doing anything (raids, PoE, etc.) theyre the same people talking shit to anyone complaining about cheesers saying they can play the game how they choose. I don't get it.

2 RepliesPretty sure it will still be required by the elitists that require you to be 34's for the current raids or require you to be a certain class with the right setup. People will continue to be ignorant to the fact that it is not needed, so I'll continue to equip it when I join and switch over to something else after they've had time to look at my setup. But at the same time I'll use it over any other rocket launcher when I know one is needed, and so would just about anyone else (post patch included).

2 RepliesThe Hunger of Crota isn't even the best PvE Rocket Launcher. People originally overrated Cluster Bombs, when they actual suck. It just stuck. If you want a good PvE Rocket Launcher, than reroll for Tripod and Tracking.

I can do more damage in five minutes with a 365 uppercut payload tracking/threeintube + icebreaker + VoC, than gjally. I know this because it took 7 months to get my first one. I had completed everything without it, so getting it was like getting a godmode weapon. So I know what works. Its fun, but definitely nothing to persecute someone for not having. And that's 7 months of having ZERO issues finding a group on these forums. -blam!- lfg.

2 RepliesThe reason why some believe the requests will go up instead of down is because the teams total dps has been cut. To counteract this cut 1 more gally will be needed. Their are really only 2 ways to fix a gun that is the most powerful in the game, either turn it into a god tier weapon so that having more than 1 on a team os over kill or 2 nerf it to the point that it no longer out does its competition. For gally the second option was not really done, it will still shine as the number 1 option for single target dps. If bungie really wanted to fix gally then they should remove tracking while buffing wolf packs, this would bring it in-line with dB which is able to provide the same damage as ghorn but has an avoidable burn.

5 RepliesSometimes you have to take the road of the elitist and I'm guilty of it. Multiple gallys cut minutes off of the activity and most of us don't want to spend 20 minutes on Atheon, Crota, and Skolas.

Gjallarhorn is not a crutch. If a raid/poe is like a chore Then a hunger of crota would be a broom. And a Gjallarhorn would be a vacuum cleaner. But the problem isn't the guns or even lfg. It's the annoying stand still, time consuming, bullet sponge bosses that bungie created. Cough* cough* pirate servitor

Gotta say, even though i'm all but done playing destiny and won't be on for TTK i hope they learn their lesson with the nerfs this time. it needs to backfire. Well, even then they don't really learn. John Weisnewski will throw the nerf on anything. Not methodically but all at once which is just dumb from a troubleshooting perspective. Introduce 10 variables instead of one to "balance" things? yea.........that's not working out so well. Hope you get the gally, it really is fun to use. I'd donate mine to you if i could.

1 ReplyIf it TTK not everything will be a bullet sponge, then it will not be a must. More fights like tho skolas one will be great, but it needs good rewards because comparing the PoE gear to any other endgame gear is just sad

It depends on how much they nerf if they nerf it a lot so it's 120% a normal launcher it will vanish because it's not so important. However if it is nerfed so it's like 170% (was about 190%) it could be a problem but realistically it isn't used seriously in POE crota is a joke (but made easier by gally) and Atheon isn't hard at 34.

2 RepliesI catch myself sticking with my Gjallarhorn a lot just to speed up the grind, and it simultaneously annoys me, because there are other awesome exotics I enjoy using. It can definitely get stale if that's the only exotic that ever gets used though. Red Death makes fighting Hard Crota not as annoying, and my Hunger of Crota worked just fine the last time I played!

I suspect it may be even more of a neccesity unfortunately assuming it still does the most damage even after nerf.
