Annoyed at this game
I received my very first gjally this month, about 10 days ago.
I spent 10 months grinding 3 characters just to get a gjallarhorn, and feel powerful and get invited into raid groups - now they're taking that away? -blam!- you bungie, you can't just pull the plug on your fan base like that. There's literally no reward for playing this game and grinding - what is there to set you aprt from the pack? I grinded 10 months so I can melt raid bosses like a hot knife in butter - and it's being nerfed?
Have fun bungie , you just pissed off and alienated 80% of your fan base you -blam!-ing monkeys
[b]Edit:[/b] for people saying "Gjally will still be strong, just not as strong"; that's bullshit. I grinded a long time for this carrot at the end of the stick, it's shameful that they're nerfing it and every other gun into oblivion. If it was so OP, why did it take 10 months to nerf? Somethings fishy here..
It's like working 10 months and saving up every pay cheque you get to buy that Corvette. Working 2 jobs and being very diligent in being smart with the money. You finally get it, and Chevrolet decides your car is "too fast" and you're not giving other cars on the road a chance to catch up to you.. So they're gonna swap out the engine for a Chevrolet Camaro; still fast, not as fast... Well guess what bitch? I worked my ass off for that Corvette!! Not the Camaro

1 ReplyMaybe it's too powerful for the next generation of weapons that are being brought out in TTK. so they nerf it and take the attention away and point it to the new stuff. Sucks for anyone that's had it or gets it before the nerf, but oh well. I thought about the hand cannon nerf earlier today with regards to range. My fatebringer 1 shot to the head from very far away in the nightfall strike. That shouldn't be possible. Yes it's harder to aim that far but still shouldn't be possible. Makes you need to change your strategy a bit more and change it as the level progresses.

7 RepliesI have been trying to explain why it's nerfed, but no one ever listens. The reason is simple: Gjallarhorn is made to take down big, tanky bosses. Look at Taniks. He is not a tank, not when compared to the other bosses. Even valus got a nerf. They are trending towards giving bosses less health I believe, but by having an un nerfed Gjallarhorn they are forced to make bosses have more health than they should Everyone's been complaining that the bosses are too heavy on health and not on tactics. Well, Bungie is trying to fix that, but people are now complaining about other things.

8 RepliesI feel the same way it has noting to do with how hard the game is or will be or some players having difficultly finding LFGs but its about Becoming a Legend, We spent weeks of time making our characters the most powerful they can be and Gally was the Legend maker it is the single best gun in the game, Taking anything from gally takes away from the game in a giant way and GIVES US NOTING BACK

I feel ya, I haven't been able to muster up the desire to play the last couple of days because there's no prize to chase anymore. The new perks and armor suck, matter of fact every exotic weapon created after vanilla destiny sucks. Everyone is gonna be shooting BB guns at each other trying to kill each other for 60 seconds.

Marginal differences dictate behavior. Gjallarhorn didn't rise to the prominent position that it held until the reign of the Suros Regime was broken and the rise of Delta leveling. Before, the biggest marginal difference in weapons was in favor of the Suros Regime - and that is why it was the dominant exotic being used in both PvP AND PvE. When Suros was brought more in line, the marginal difference between Gjallarhorn and the next option came to the forefront and behavior changed.

It's one gun, I've gotten along without it so far just fine and I've been playing on and off since day 1 now

When i look at the forums all i see id people who cant raid or do any end game because of no gally. They are fixing the elitists bullshit that was created by this god forsaken weapon. Why would you save and save for a corvette? There are other of cars better than a corvette. Same as gjallahorn. There are other exotics better for more situations than gjallahorn. Essentially you are wasting your time grinding for the small chance to obtain it, when you could have been actually entertaining yourself with other weapons that are more fun - for the record I have never had a problem join raids when I want to and I don't have a gjallahorn. I also wouldn't waste my time plugging away at life to buy a corvette. I prefer fast cars that can go around corners
