-you can't join games in progress in halo
-Halo did a good job on balancing weapons and making large open maps to fit the play style of guns kill and player ability matters more than what you have
-halo didn't have dlc
-a single halo game has interconnected plot to your character, destiny makes you read into the past of others rather than making the player a main focus isolating your "legend" from the disgrace of a plot
-shotguns were high risk high reward in halo, as maps were larger you had to plan your engagement before rushing in.
-weapon balancing exists in halo
-while spawn killing was extremely possible in halo, it took more skill as the larger teams made it harder for a single person holding off a spawn to handle, and once you died you started on your side. Since your side was further away and took about five minutes to get their by foot, you have to work hard to get back your position. In destiny you stay in a place and if you die it takes 30 seconds to get back
-halo possesses a playlist that has variety on how you play, unlike destiny where all you need is a thorn.
-halo had ranks that showed how experienced you are unlike destiny where all you need is a thorn and shotgun so you can cover up how bad you are.
These are some of the ways bungie's real masterpiece trumps destiny, for all you people who think destiny is somehow more complex/better
Edit: by no dlc I mean entire parts of the game. In halo you could choose to not buy dlc and still be sustained for a very long time
Edit2: also halo forge mode
Edit3: halo:ce was made in 2001 and still better than 2014 made destiny

Edited by AssultKitteh: 7/10/2015 9:37:09 PMHalo 4 will put you into games that already started.
But that's Halo 4 lol
Pretty sure some of this isn't bungies fault, rather activision telling bungie how to make their game
-
1 ReplyLmao because making a game that's multiplayer couldn't work for over 3 months was a good thing

3 RepliesEdited by nbah3: 7/10/2015 11:49:09 AMThis is just a thorn and shotgun bitch post jammed up in a Halo fanboy post, Russian nesting doll style. Congratulations op, you've created the forum equivalent of a Justin Beiber song

2 RepliesPvP until lolReach.

Edited by Yo Erk: 7/10/2015 1:45:47 PMSome other things you did not mention that, I really thought would have been standard in Destiny coming from Bungie that I was really disappointed in, is: More gametypes ie; CtF, KoTH etc... (This being the most disappointing to me) Theater Mode. In game/Lobby Chat (both pre-game and post game) Custom games. But I see why there is not when all you have is Team Slayer. Other then those first three things Destiny, to me, is still a great game that plays smooth and, is very polished. Again, the biggest let down is the lack of creative Objective games. Destiny has a lot of potential to have unique game modes but comes up very short on that end. Every game type can be won by kills alone which doesn't classify it as a true objective game. Control, Salvage and soon the new game mode in TTK "Rift".

- Not joining games in progress vs being stuck in games where you end up on an undermanned team for 10 mins or more? - were Halo maps bigger or did they just have less cover? There were plenty of smaller ones from what I remember. - No DLC? What about all that player built Forge mode stuff? Can't say that a player map has been expertly balanced by professionals. - In Halo every one plays 1 dude. In Destiny every Guardian is unique - even if we all follow the same story path, it's more like we're all in different versions of the same reality than we are all the same dude. - Shotties are high risk in Destiny. There are plenty of things which can shut you down if you even slightly miss. - Weapon balancing exists in Destiny - you just don't like it and it needs more work. - Spawn killing is barely a problem in Destiny, plus you seem to be comparing non objective based game modes with objective based game mode. In most Crucible you don't have a "side" to start on. - Your opinion of Thorn is just fine, but there are plenty of us doing our thing without it. It's not a god gun unless you are trash with everything else. - ranks only drive elitism and there are plenty of ways of comparing yourself with others in Destiny if you want to "prove" your worth to yourself. The only positive about ranks would be an improvement on matchmaking, but that is a dream, there are too many other things holding back matchmaking - eg, no one wants to wait in a queue because they are either ranked too terrible or too good to match with anyone who is available. People want to play, not wait in orbit. Overall - you're wrong about the plot, you compare apples and oranges too much and we get that you dislike certain playstyles that you haven't learnt to counter - but that doesn't mean that there is no counter, just that you haven't figured it out. Destiny is certainly more complex in mechanics. Whether it is better is a matter of personal opinion. For me, it has serious potential, and I think in a couple of years time people who come new to Destiny will find a far better game than we have now - which is a shame, but I don't think they could have developed it any further without releasing it. They were at the point where it needed to be live and responding to customers, and it has improved because of this rather than despite this.

1 ReplyHalo has horrid weapon balance.

Edited by DiceLove: 7/10/2015 9:22:53 AMI agree on most of your points. Halo titles were monumental in every way, shape and form... however, I've started to look at The Crucible in Destiny more and more like advanced Halo. Don't get me wrong, I hated it at first. Seemed like chaotic garbage to me, and there are still things that make me shake my head. But once you put some serious hours into it, adapt to maps (however lacking), and perfect your style, you find a groove you may not have had in Halo. Crucible eventually becomes rewarding if you get past the initial shock and disappointment. Lotta people hated Reach. Not sure why, but I'll bet most of it involved an unwillingness to adapt. Halo will always be king in my book though. Between 2, 3, and Reach I had some of the best online experiences of my life.

9 RepliesI played halo 3 today and destiny blows it out of the water

Things destiny did wrong that halo didn't: Activi$ion
-
6 RepliesLast time I checked, they were also two different games. Yes, they have the same develooer, but they are DIFFERENT GAMES. Stop comparing them like they're equals, because we all know halo will always be king on xbox.
-
4 RepliesIn regards to weapon balance. Halo had like 3 guns. Balancing halo vs destiny is a very different thing
-
I'm going back to Reach, maybe make a few new maps.
-
I can't comment on the whole franchise, but I know for a fact that you couldn't play Halo 3 multiplayer unless you had ALL of the DLCs

3 RepliesCrucible and halo multiplayer are just different, not comparable. Now, I'm not saying one us better. In halo, everyone had the same start, same guns. Guns would spawn at certain spots and certain times. There were no stats, or rolls, or exotics. There was on sniper, one shotgun, etc. You could play however you wanted, cqc, or range. In destiny, the maps are small, you are forced to play a certain way, or be disadvantaged, and experienced players have more advantages over new ones. It's unfair, unbalanced, and just not fun. It can be fixed, but bungie has yet to even ACKNOWLEDGE it's a problem. TTK better add in changes to the screwed up, Charlie foxtrot that is crucible. Crucible has potential, here's what should be fixed Weapons should be balanced and equal More playlists, such as a no exotics Why did those big maps disappear? Bring em back MORE TTK
