I'm a little pissed about it. It's just the principle of locking out content so they could get more money through a partnership with red-bull. Another scheme to get us to spend our money and milk us dry. Still on the fence about purchasing TTK, a lot of other good games coming out. Oh well. What do others think?
p.s. checkout planet destiny for info:

Edit: Also to add I'm in the UK and it looks like this content might be region locked to the US mainly because the promo codes might not be available here. Pretty shitty of Bungie really....
Edit 2: Looks like other companies have started poking fun (props to nosworc for posting this):

Edit 3: OK so just a quick mention here - yes the quest will become available in January. But that is still a 3 month lockout period for people who don't want to buy a pack of redbull to get in-game content. I think people are missing the point around why I'm disappointed about this - it's the principle behind the fact they want to boost sales by getting us to buy a product not related in any way whatsoever to the game. Worse still the product is proven to be bad for consumers health.
I know other game companies do this, but really we are talking about halo and COD, so it's not like they need to do this to increase profits. Why not instead just have introduced a veterans collectors edition - that would have done wonders for their revenue too. No, instead they sell-out to redbull.

1 ReplyNo. However, I'm sure that Bungie is probably wincing at the timing. I'm sure the promo announcement, etc., was all planned out long ago, but nobody would have anticipated it would come on the heels of a controversial interview, so their PR folks are probably thinking, "Oh god dammit."

Vozka red bull just the cream. Muahah
-
I go through two red bulls a night anyway at work so it's a win for me
-
Its the principle of marketing and making money. Relax man, itll be available in January if you really just dont want to buy a Red Bull.
-
Bungie's favorite weapon is Icebreaker, no matter how many times they shoot themselves in the foot they keep regenerating ammo.
-
1 ReplyThe nearest 7/11 to me is over an hour away....
-
It's already been said this quest is exclusive to the codes until December 31, from my understanding that means that on January 1st the quests will be available for everyone
-
2 RepliesRed bull is an Austrian brand (for people from us: Austria is a German speaking country in Central Europe ;-) so that makes me even more sad that it seems to be us exclusive... We'll see though...
-
2 RepliesIt's only in 7-11 in July. It will be everywhere in August. The new mission will be available for everyone in jan
-
1 ReplyYou really think this was bungle's fault? It's activison man. Why the f*** would bungie make promotion deals? IT'S ALL UP TO THE PUBLISHER WHEN IT COMES TO MARKETING
-
How about extending to Aussies we have red Bull here ya know!
-
Not worth it. The scent of Red Bull makes my stomach churn.
-
Lol. You're getting upset over a mission that'll be available to everyone everywhere a couple months after this promotion starts. You need a hobby
-
2 RepliesIt's store locked to 7/11 only
-
3 RepliesI drink Red Bulls everyday. The no calories or sugar ones that have different fruit flavors. I'll give out plenty of codes if they put them on those kinds of Red Bulls. Regular Red Bull tastes like ass. Wont be doing it if it's just on them.
-
1 ReplyI wouldn't mind. Except its exclusive to 7/11, which we don't have where I live.
-
It's just a tiny little snippit that isn't worth a damn. I dont' drink that crap and won't start because of this.
-
They'll become available to more retailers in August. Don't feel too bad. I live in Kansas (middle of U.S. if you didn't know) and there's no 7-11 anywhere near me.

Edited by Kage Verix: 6/24/2015 5:20:57 PMIts one mission, you probably will never play again. Oh and it will be available 1-1-2016 for everyone regardless. If you don't like red bull just play it at that time Edit: Oh and it requires The Taken King dlc to play aswell
-
Red bulls are around 5$ so I guess we getting DLC for 35$ which is amazing
-
4 RepliesI am mad because all 3,576,344 cans of red bull that I have consumed..... NEVER GAVE ME WINGS!
-
I hear each can you buy gives you another space in your vault.
-
1 ReplyBuy the package get the code toss the drinks
-
9 Replies1- you aren't locked out. It releases in January for everyone. This merely provides early access 2- this is nothing new in the gaming industry. Everyone's losing their minds as if this were a first.
-
1 ReplyDon't care in the slightest bit, I'm not 12.
