I'm a little pissed about it. It's just the principle of locking out content so they could get more money through a partnership with red-bull. Another scheme to get us to spend our money and milk us dry. Still on the fence about purchasing TTK, a lot of other good games coming out. Oh well. What do others think?
p.s. checkout planet destiny for info:

Edit: Also to add I'm in the UK and it looks like this content might be region locked to the US mainly because the promo codes might not be available here. Pretty shitty of Bungie really....
Edit 2: Looks like other companies have started poking fun (props to nosworc for posting this):

Edit 3: OK so just a quick mention here - yes the quest will become available in January. But that is still a 3 month lockout period for people who don't want to buy a pack of redbull to get in-game content. I think people are missing the point around why I'm disappointed about this - it's the principle behind the fact they want to boost sales by getting us to buy a product not related in any way whatsoever to the game. Worse still the product is proven to be bad for consumers health.
I know other game companies do this, but really we are talking about halo and COD, so it's not like they need to do this to increase profits. Why not instead just have introduced a veterans collectors edition - that would have done wonders for their revenue too. No, instead they sell-out to redbull.

Durrrrr *throws money at screen*
I mean, that's how they view us,isn't it?
That xp reward is shitty. That quest line will probably be shitty as well. Those energy drinks are terrible, so I'm not mad about that.

Wahhh wahhh and -blam!-ing wahhh

Actually, I'm not going to worry about the exclusive quest. Could be nice to get a new mission once the new content becomes mundane in January
-
1 ReplyGuess I'll have to start drinking Jagermeister again to justify buying some Red Bull
-
Let me guess... It's a "US only" campaign?

I do like taste of red bull however I do feel Activision are pulling my pants down without me asking for it and then expecting 3 things A thank you to them from me My money And the Nobel prize for getting away with it.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong but don't you get the exclusive content codes from buying a Destiny branded, limited edition can of Red Bull? If the purchase of an energy drink is "milking you dry" how did you afford your Playstation/Xbox??
-
1 ReplyAwesome I can't wait to go to the gas station and take pictures of all kinds of Red Bull cans for the code
-
This is beyond pathetic , not only from bungie but others are doing it to , what has gaming come to
