Losers who want the Thorn altered need to understand one thing
No matter what, most PvP players will be better than you, they will most likely always use the strongest and best weapons available, and you will always cry and complain because you will always lose.
Don't bring a knife to a gunfight , & , GIT GUD SCRUB X-))

people are complaining about guns like TLW/thorn/whatever because the TTK's are too low across the board. people realize they're getting killed so fast they don't have time to react and assume it's the gun when really it's the broken kill meta where there are a handful of guns with sub 0.5 second TTK's that let you kill off-guard people before they can react. bungie thinks they can fix this by repeatedly tweaking one class up and down when all they're really doing is just fixing one class and breaking another each time they do it. if they did a general increase in TTK across the board people would complain a lot less about specific guns since it'd be less about who sees who first and more about skill and map placement and there'd be actual crucible gunfights again. IMO rockets should probably be the only 1 shot kill guns in pvp, with shotguns taking 2 shots to the body and 1 headshot. crucible would take more teamwork and be less gimmicky and less prone to bungies rubber-band whiplash approach to balancing their guns. bungie could easily test this by introducing a playlist where guardians all have 2x health/shields and no other changes and seeing if people like it.

1 ReplyIt was op, yet of course will be replaced in time. That being said I wanted a nerf ( I have two thorns) not because it was op, but because a majority of games had people using them. Bare with me It had its fun, and now its time for a meta change, and yes another weapon will be op, and again people will complain. However it is better to adjust the meta every few months to keep pvp fresh and ever changing, or to say change what may be op from time to time because it alters pvp respectively. While I do think exotic handcannons were op I never had a issue with it, that is being killed with it. But I did have a issue that everyone used it for this many months straight and firmly believe that pvp should always have meta changes every few months. This would give us a reason to collect other guns while also forcing us to adapt to another class every now and then. Now do I see thorn as a crutch? Yes and no. Yes because it is the dominate weapon in the game, as is last word, and they so kill with body shots faster then most guns do with headshots. This is a crutch... But no because it is a competitive game type, so why wouldn't many use the more powerful gun? Or to say that it is a smart choice and isn't always held by a newb/noob and instead used by great players to gain more efficiency. This does not make the player a scrub, only smart. Before others think I use thorn...well I do in trails, but in all other pvp gametypes I use Nlb because I enjoy the gun and it rewards the player for good aim ( giving it a faster ttk then thorn). In a good players hand it can also be op, and potentially a crutch because it kills so fast ( two body or one head. Regardless two bullets max are fatal.) and would indeed give the opposing player no chance to react. Anyway, yes I support a nerf, but only for a meta change, not for the sake of it actually being op.

No. I'm not mad at people using the best they can but using thorn or last word is a bitch move. They are just best, they're the only option for most. I refuse to use an exotic hand cannon and still put up some good stats, once these are needed I will do even better

In a prefect world every gun would have a counter. But in reality yes, there will always be top tier weapons that the best players use. Unless they go halo on us and give everyone the same gun thats how it will always be.

I dont care what a person uses the key is to be a smart player and have multiple load out combos to counter whatever situation u get in. I might have good games and i might have bad games (i am human lol and ok in pvp) but just because i have bad days doesnt mean i rant on forums for a nerf! Nerfing is ruining this game, especially the pve side because bungie seems to always focus more on pvp because the complaining is coming from the instant reward minded pvp players! I have 3 thorns and use them once in awhile but its not my favorite but i know what to do with heavy thorn users. After this stupid nerf coming up i guarantee it will switch and be another gun type in nerf cross hairs.... I agree with this post but whats the point anymore because the smart day 1 players that know the ins and outs of destiny seem to be the ones overlooked to aim on the new players and making them happy..... Money talks i guess.....

Well i guess you're a scrub - 2 kill headshots? Hmm if someone already has you on the red why stand there and still try to outshoot? Dont really mind the thorn nerf coz i dont use it often, what i find really annoying is when people call players who use it a scrub where they dont even know how to deal with it. Not saying im a good pvp player but if you are one of those people who call thorn users scrubs or call thorn a crutch well shouldnt the players who complain about thorn be more of a scrub coz they cant deal with it or dont know how to play against it? Nerfs ruined the game during auto rifles and now more nerfs are coming and there would be lesser guns that would be interesting to use.
