HoW Raid. Calm down folks.
There could be a stand-alone raid released a little later, like VoG was.

In the meantime, you are still getting TWO new modes, one of which is supposed to be unlike anything we've seen in Destiny yet, possibly even the horde mode so many people were begging for. (Trials of Osiris and The Arena).
Don't judge until you've tried them. You just might love them.
Do you want half-assed content released the moment there's just enough code to function, or do you want QUALITY CONTENT when it's FINISHED?
This community asks for an ungodly amount of changes to current content while demanding new content at the same time. They're doing what they can to give you the best of both worlds.
Calm down.
The community did nothing but complain about the raids and cheese them to death. Now it's essentially being removed for improvement like Queen's Wrath. Good job.
You guys asked for something new, and you're getting it.

7 RepliesEveryone calm down please destiny is a master piece crafted by the hands of gaming royalty. Anyone who says anything bad about any aspect of destiny is tiny brained. I love how it just seems effortless to do objectives in destiny, I have to mute my mike because I get that excited I start screaming all over the place when I pick up a fresh bounty . Sometimes I'm that carried away I just grab the one and head to orbit . Don't even ask how exited I get when I see engrams drop --- greens blues they're both so important to characters . My god if they are giving us another four missions I'm just going to freak out I'm toooooo excited . Bungie you have made the most complete game ever made by anyone. Thank you

Also bungie making it mandatory for everyone o pvp in next expansion when only a minority want pvp the primary thing to do. Even worse is the 30% minority that does not pvp at all will leave the one that just do raid and PvE content only. Now the 15% that just do PvP only are happy the ones that do not raid mainly because they can not be friendly and social which complained and wined no way for them to get raid gear because well like I said Anti-social and only want to pvp Then there the 55% that do both and a majority of those only do the pvp out of that group when all the PVE content is up for the week and are killing time till reset. So really a majority of the gamers are upset. But hey that minority that cries for nerf and balance in pvp are happy. See blizzard made the same mistake when hey had 11 million gamers then decided to make pvp the most important aspect and all of sudden they lost 6 million subscribers why most gamers use pvp as a supplement to the PvE content.

And not just playable content that you play through once and are done, but content that is[u] highly replayable[/u]. IMO, that's the true measure of whether DLC is good or not. Thus far, the Raids have been the most "replayable" content, and that's why people are worried (or screaming). But as long as Bungie delivers a new game mode that is fun, challenging, rewarding, and replayable, I'll be content. Hell, it might even be better than a Raid. I'll wait until I know more before panicking.

3 RepliesNo, there will not. Deej specifically stated that NO RAID will be released with House of Wolves. He didn't say it's delayed, he said no raid. The next raid will be on a future DLC

Finally.. I have read a voice of reason. Delaying the raid is actually a good thing if the raid is not ready, additionally, spacing this out gives less of a window between updates. Something I think Bungie needs to do more of. Pay for a season pass, or half season.. and get bi-weekly or monthly drops of new content. Strikes.. varied strikes, PVE missions, PVE Events coupled with PVP events. This two to six month window in new content is apparently not making the masses happy.

2 RepliesNo new raid is huge. Who tf wants to play a destiny wave survival mode over a raid. They should be delayed here, not a raid. Yay 2 of my buddies can waste time with me killing waves of enemies that I've already killed thousands of times, all the while earning random shit that probably sucks like Bungies choices.

Well the Prison of Elders is a prison, which would house all sorts of badass baddies and monsters so I'm assuming that well be fighting them after waves of enemies. Like 4 or 5 Strikes in 1 go, 1 after the other (with modifiers) SOUNDS COOOOL!

It's not, every single one of us was given a half-added game with NO quality content to be seen anywhere. So sure, Bungie can release what they want at this point. I'm so content starved. I don't care if what they release is half-assed and has zero quality it'll just be following in the footsteps of the game itself so I will be used to it.

1 ReplyWhile I personally love the idea of raids, vault of glass was well done- despite the rng that has been the main reason so many have hated the raid- it was fun and did well in the destiny gameplay. The dark below introduced new missions that were "challenging" and the raid itself was new. The missions were full of "challenge" while the raid now is considered a joke. I think it's best if "Prison of Elders" is more related to a "Treyarc Zombies" type of mode. While it might not be, but if its a horde mode it might be more fun that Crota. Crota was much easier than VOG. As much as I'd love a raid as new and as challenging/fun as VOG...that's content obviously Bungie wants to make-. I was expecting a new raid but if Prison of Elders can fill that content void then great.

2 RepliesThe post only says it will be released later. It makes no reference to whether or not it will be added as an addition to the HoW DLC (and thus free for all who have paid for the HoW DLC). That's why people are worked up. Bungie needs to specifically state that the raid will be considered HoW added content. That would likely calm folks down.

2 RepliesI'm actually happy with there not being a raid. Creating a raid takes alot of development time and it's content most Destiny players won't do. I'm glad that instead they finetuned other content and introduced more casual content. And indeed, I rather have them taking their time creating an awesome raid better than VoG, than release one that isn't all that. However I must admit that for an expansion the content seems low, but I can't fully judge this before I've played the content.

So, Bungie says another raid is coming in the future. Will it be free add on for those who bought The House of Wolves expansion, or will you have to pay for it in the Comet expansion?

Read the second paragraph very carefully. Now try to imagine a politician trying to put a positive spin on things while your reading it. They have clever people who write these things. They're saying: this DLC will not have a raid, it was a tough call on our part because we know how much everyone loved the raids we made. We're sorry, but the next raid will come out with plague of darkness (if that's what it will be called).

Fans were a bit mad but still they shut up and dealt with it. "No raid! But guys! THE ARENA. We're not gonna say its horde mode but it's horde mode! And all it took to make it a reality was your precious raids! What? Raid and horde mode? Well you're just gonna have to shut up and deal with it!" Fans are starting to wake up to this social experiment on how much time gamers will be taken for a ride. And I don't blame them. [spoiler]Trials of Osiris is skirmish on a map we've all played before. Why not make a new map just for this new event? Would be cool but nope. All about shortcuts![/spoiler] My point is that gamers wouldn't be mad if Destiny was well put together. If Destiny had good content and TDB had a well-put together raid, people would welcome the Arena! I know I would have but the road Destiny went down said otherwise.

Frankly I won't mind if it comes out slightly later and is "included" for free with buying the HoW. I just have this feeling that it "coming out later this year" means that they will include it with comet as the 1 raid that's supposed to be with comet (so we have 3 raids instead of the 4 we're supposed to have by that point) and they'll just be sitting there giving us the finger
