I'm getting super -blam!-ing tired of getting into an argument about guns and classes when all of a sudden "you have a bad KD so your argument is irrelevant." I already knew that I sucked so quite frankly I don't give two -blam!-s. If you have a high KD, cool you probably induce rage and wreak havoc in the crucible. If you have a low KD (like my .77) cool, you're probably still smart and knowledgeable. If you have to check other people's stats to make yourself feel superior then -blam!- you and go get a -blam!-ing life. Rant over.

Edit: I'm seeing a lot of people acknowledging my low kd, I wanted to tell you all that the point of this post is that if someone has a low kd, they know how much they suck (including myself) and doesn't need other people spitting it in their face.
Edit: since someone so kindly bumped this post back to relevance, I'll have to state this for you all. The only game mode I take seriously is control, so don't bother with the other ones. I made my Titan a week ago. He's positive in control. In the last week, I have been positive in control. I made my hunter in November. 2 months ago, his l/d in control was .7. I believe I stated this earlier in the post. His k/d is now .97. Is that eveidebce enough that I don't actually suck? I may not be raking in 30 kills a game, but If I go positive than I helped my team more than I hurt them. I honestly don't care about your k/d, and I definitely don't care about mine so is you're here to brag or to make fun, then you can show yourself out.
Edit: please disregard the trials of Osiris. This post was made before trials even existed. I think a stat check when trials receuiting is absolutely warranted.

Edited by Sheeeks: 6/29/2015 12:45:57 PMMy kd got ruined months ago when i would play crucible with rare shitty weapons and a shitty void shot gun trying to do the thorn bounty for weeks, but if i could start again mine would be maybe 1.3-1.5, i might start using my warlock in pvp because it has never had a game so then i can actually see what my kd would be if it didnt gey ruined. Also your point about having a higher kd in games is true aswell, played a game a few days ago, i was top with abouy 26 kills i got a 3. Something kd, kid at the bottom of the team had a 7 kd, and 7 kills, he sat at the back of the map with a sniper all game camping and died once

3 RepliesThe only thing I check when somebody cries for a nerf is their medal score, if you only have a 25k medal score, you need to spend more time in the crucible before asking for changes.

1 ReplyK/D is a load of rubbish at times, people with high ones are generally good, but I have a far better K/D than some people in my clan, yet they're far better players than me, in some games where I'll pull 15 kills with a 3.0 K/D, they're pulling 30+ at 1.8 or something, play styles can alter it a fair bit, as does playing with a regular team.

I only check when people claim they are skilled or start mouthing off like they are a crucible god. Ego deflation is fun :)

Just to throw my tuppence into the mix, my hunter has a positive KD, around 1.5ish. but I suck at crucible. KD is much more indicative of play-style than true skill, I know i must be a tool to have on your team, I'm the dick going third into an area and mopping up what's left. I die less because I'm patient, I get more kills than most because I finish others gunfights for them. Now, when it comes to trials, I get wiped out consistently. I have a good bunch of buddies who are pve players and don't have the patience to learn how to play trials! They see me doing well in control and want to run trials, until we go 0-5. Then they want back to the prison!

1 ReplyI check K/D often, when people respond to my Trials LFG. I don't want to be stuck trying to do flawless with a .7 K/D player. I've been down that road, and it sucks.

My playstyle is a mixture of bad aim and poor decision making. I couldn't care less what people think of my k/d. Reply with a good argument or ignore them.

K/D doesn't bother me in this broken ass game, any other game and I'll try to keep it positive.

One guy said that "You cant complete a raid for your life you entered in it so many times and never completed it STFU a.sshole I'd own you d1ck" [spoiler]The reason behind my lack of completions was that I had three 31s (no gally at that time) and was completing the first half of CE on my own so I could get the mats to get my Titan to 32.[/spoiler] [i]And the worst thing was that he started insulting me for no reason, and he had his profile hidden.[/i] So basically stats in general.
