Im sorry it doesn't and for all of those who think it does, you're terribly wrong.
Does my KDR show how many wins i have
NO
Does KDR prove that i play the objective
NO, well yes kinda in the sense that I put myself in more difficult situations to control the game/win and the side-effect being I die more often than the average camper KDR extraordinaire
ALL HAIL K0Z
EDIT: I want to point out that as a roomate to 4 others, I am not the only one to play my account and as much as i hate excuses it definitely has some pull mainly because my friends suck haha
EDIT: Im not saying KD doesnt matter at all....IT DOES...what im saying is its not the sole indication of a player's skill for all those who keep throwing this in my face
EDIT: well it looks like from everyone's response...majority agreed that KDR is not the sole indication of skill.
EDIT: I feel like a lot of people are taking this post the wrong way and are now challenging me to rumble games......THATS NOT THE POINT OF THIS.....if anything add my gt: k0hzey on Xbox 1 and if you guys truly want to PVP and WIN add me to your fireteam I love playing with a team who knows what theyre doing, how to control the map, and rotate spawns.....if this looks like chinese to you then you have no reason to be on this post.
I've played competitive call of duty for about 5 years now and mostly MLG so I know how to adapt to spawn changes and properly rotating around the map.
I stress again if youre a PVP player and are always looking to team up for games msg me, add me, id love to play with an organized team
again GT: k0hzey (Thats a zero)
EDIT: Ok so im looking at my stats on DTR and my overall DTR in crucible is the top 20%
Kill, wins, and assists in he top 20% as well
AND game score is in the top 15%
From these numbers alone it should indicate that regardless of KD, my overall performance in crucible is way above average in the top 20% and thats just from one character and the limited play time I have each day....any more arguments about my skill please id love to hear em!
I Thank you
HAIL K0Z

Hey guys I agree it's not all about k.d. It's about map control, objectives and utilizing your advantages when you can (supers, heavy, choke points, grenades, etc.) I have been making videos to help other guardians improve their performance and more importantly their experience in the crucible. I break down maps, objectives and how to control them. If this is something you guys are interested in check it out and let me know what you think and if it helped.

4 RepliesI hear ya man, doesn't even reflect how many times I was able to capture A on Blind Watch unassisted.
-
12 RepliesKDR is like penis size. If yours is small you say size doesn't matter.
-
This kind of thread always comes up. But to all saying KD doesn't matter or equate skill you are flat out lying to yourself. Get a team of sub 1.0 KD and get a team of 2.0 KD. If you had to bet your life on which team would win, who would you bet on?
-
1 ReplyIt matters Get guud
-
I typically play a bit more of support class in pvp. Enabling my team to get more kills, and denying the enemy kills doesn't help my k/d, but it helps win more matches.
-
My K/D sucks cause I suck at PvP.
-
If your k/d sucks than your bad in the crucible, anyone that says its not an indication of skill probably has a negative k/d as well. If your win % is good it's because you have some good players on your team.
-
Dude if your kd is ridiculous then yeah you probably are a beast. If it sucks then you probably suck. Point blank. Tell me how you can have a bad KD and be Good when someone who wrecks with a beast kd will shit ok you in crucible every time.
-
3 RepliesI get what your saying, I play the same way, to me, it's all about winning.
-
It also doesnt take into account how many times ive helped out clanmates with thorn bounties
-
1 Replyso it proves how good you are in PVE?
-
Sorry but it kinda do. I mean sure campers are annoying but I'd rather have them on my team rather then the idiot who keep getting killed by running straight into a bunch of enemies. You don't have to go negetive to capture points. Wait for your teammates before deciding to charge on your enemies and if you're outnumbered alway bail out and leave your objective, you"ll probably end up giving free points anway if you stay unless you are confident that you can hold your own which can't be true if you go negative in a match.
-
Only shitty nerds think KD doesn't matter.
-
No it doesn't. I am rubbish so every kill against me (which requires all the skill of a domesticated rock) shouldn't really count. Take me out of the equation and everyone's KD falls by about 2.0 lol
-
Edit,Edit and .......................... Edit

I absolutely agree, I have a low k/d and I'm not a very good crucible player. Wait, scratch that, there seems to be a fairly positive correlation going on here...

3 RepliesLooking at it from the game mode "Control" it does matter. Control in not like the domination in Call of duty. Im cod you can go 60-5 and still lose the game if you didn't have control of 2 flags longer than the enemy. In 'Control' all you do is earn extra points per kill depending on how many flags you have. So from that every death you take gives the enemy closer to winning and every kill you get gets your team closer to winning. At the end of the day if you can kill your enemies more than they kill you then you're a good player and yes your KD does have an impact in this game.
-
I have a decent K/D, but lose a lot. However, I also have a lot of "On the Bright Side" medals. Playing with randoms really can suck.
-
2 RepliesAnyone can have a high K/D from 3v3 modes...
-
6 RepliesHate to pee in your cereal but the %'s you report are not indicative of skill. They simply demonstrate how much you play in relation to the rest of the community. A stat like win % is much better to look at regarding your ability to help a team win. KD can be influenced by a number of things, including preferred game type and play style, but is a good (maybe 'easy' would be better) indicator of skill.

1 Replyyou need to improve

21 RepliesEdited by xXx G3TZUM xXx: 3/28/2015 10:40:31 PMI don't understand why people struggle with such a simple concept If everyone on your team has positive kd, you almost certainly won. If everyone on your team has a negative kd, your team has definitively lost. If you have gone negative in kd, you have most likely earned more points for the opposing team than you have your own team. If you have a positive kd, you have definitively not hurt your team Sure, sometimes a person with a slightly negative kd may come out ahead for the team via some key playmaking scenarios but thats the exception, not the rule Another way to put this is, you are picking your team and you have a choice between the 1.25 or the .75 kd. Who do you pick? It is shocking how many people try to make this argument, likely to justify their poor kd. My kd is ~1.4 and I think that's poor, and am always doing what I can to improve. People need to stop making excuses and work to make your game better with a positive kd at the very least.... PS - And when the hell is the Destiny community going to realize that holding ground doesn't earn you squat unless you're maintaining a positive kd? This isn't CoD...I've been in a few games where we only owned one control point the entire game, and still won because the team didn't die
-
Having a bad kdr means you are giving the other team more points? You can play the objective and still have a good kdr. So ya it dose mean your a good player.
-
5 RepliesI agree. And i find it annoying when the top player on the team caps no zones and has 36 kills with a KD of .8 and no assists. Please just stop mr. Uber. You're not helping.

Kd Does Matter.
