How to instantly tell when someone doesn't have Gally:
"Gjallarhorn isn't that great. I'd rather use another exotic."
EDIT 1: Stop saying it's situational. What gun isn't? I never said I use mine for everything. This post was for the kids who knock it before trying it.
EDIT 2: I never said Gally was required for Crota either. If you use a legendary, congratulations. You can successfully aim a rocket launcher and pull the trigger. I personally despise the people who "require" Gjallarhorn for Crota.
EDIT 3: 800+ Replies! Keep 'em coming. Feel free to tell me my OPINION is wrong as well. I've grown accustomed to it due to these forums.

Gjallarhorn is a boss-killer. I wouldn't see a big point in using it for much else.

Gally is great and all but I do prefer ice breaker or last word when I'm not doing bosses. I role play space cowboy. Giddy-up you hive skum.

I only use it for Crota or the NF bullet sponge bosses Still amazing though, I just like using a variety it exotics to mix it up

I love when I'm running through the lamps and have a shit machine gun equipped. "Hey herb, I uhh hope you have a better heavy for when we get to crota." "Well, I'll probably be running the sword, so don't worry about it. Not to mention, why would I equip my gjallarhorn when running through the lamps? I'd much rather use my ice breaker, with +2 agility, and get 10+ kills with one shot." Situational gun, no one seems to understand that it's not necessary ALL the time

Would take a strong exotic primary like hawkmoon, mida or red death than all ways having ghorn. I even like to run thunderlord alot of the time over gally... Main reason gally annoys me is its "secret perk" which is proximity detonating (I always seem to die when a thrall is to my left or right and not even near the rocket...

another way you can tell is they can form complete sentences w/o mentioning ghallarhorn and can have a conversation with someone without mentioning ghallarhorn.

I say that phrase quite often, yet my Warlock (not sure if equiped) has the ghorn i got long ago from the Crucibles.

I have had 5 gally drops. Yes, I love my gally, but of course I use other exotics for certain situations. 90% of the time I run gally with ruin wings on my Titan. However, I run it far less with my warlock because heavy ammo drops are too scarce for me to really want to use an exotic slot on it. I prefer IB, Red death, juju, or patience and time depending on the situation.

Have GHorn and only use it in solar burn, prefer to keep my self alive and use RD

2 RepliesIt's true, I don't have it but even when I do get it I still won't frolic about as if it's the best thing in destiny, yes it good but as with any weapon, it's situational. Some days it's better to use a primary or special weapons exotic over the Gjallarhorn.
