How to instantly tell when someone doesn't have Gally:
"Gjallarhorn isn't that great. I'd rather use another exotic."
EDIT 1: Stop saying it's situational. What gun isn't? I never said I use mine for everything. This post was for the kids who knock it before trying it.
EDIT 2: I never said Gally was required for Crota either. If you use a legendary, congratulations. You can successfully aim a rocket launcher and pull the trigger. I personally despise the people who "require" Gjallarhorn for Crota.
EDIT 3: 800+ Replies! Keep 'em coming. Feel free to tell me my OPINION is wrong as well. I've grown accustomed to it due to these forums.

All rocket launchers are situational. Even gjallarhorn.

I love my ghorn. I've had it since week 2. That being said, I tend to only use it on Crota. MG are more fun in my opinion.

3 RepliesNah I have a friend that's had it for quite a while and he doesn't use his that much anymore. He's one of those "I like a challenge and ghorn kills that challenge" kind of people.

I have it fully upped, still would rather run a different exotic. It's great on bosses, but that's about all I use it for.

Depends on what I'm doing. For Crota I tend to use whichever I have equipped at the time (Gjallarhorn or Hunger) For everything else PvE related I'll use Hunger as I prefer using IB and not having to worry about ammo. The whole proximity thing on the Gjallarhorn is starting to annoy me a lot, particularly during Deathsinger.

Ol the great ghorn lol its great for only 1 thing when it hits it takes off the shield first then wolf pack rounds hit for 200 each or 250 somewere between the lines. Anyhow lol first rocket hits and there is what 6 wolf pack deals that hit for 1k , I bet more though the 2nd shot is devastating lol as well the toy don't make the game all everyone wants is someone with a ghorn to join in the crota fight :)

I personally don't like rocket launchers so I avoid using gally. I have two maxed out mind you. But I pretty much only use it when I'm in the raid or doing omni. Would much rather use hawkmoon

I have used mine for 1 main purpose and that is CE. Once that goes away I will have very little use for it other than nightfalls on occasion. It is [b]not[/b] worth the exotic slot.

Honestly imo gjallerhorn is the strongest exotic in the game. However this is only when you look at damage output per shot. In some instances icebreaker is much more valuable to stunn and damage bosses. I prefer using either icebreaker or thunderlord mainly because O can use them on other enemys instead of the boss. That beeing said black hammer and thunderlord/gjallerhorn is a very powerfull combo for bosses

Even though I don't have, I have a miraculous ability to blow myself up almost every time I use a rocket launcher.
