- I kind of see where destiny's RNG loot system is going. It's a neat experiment and it works better then I would have thought if you sat down and explained it to me.
That whole..you never know what your going to get- so you gotta keep pushing hard..thing.
It does solve a lot of the issue when it comes to farming items and questing top tier equipment. Kinda makes looking for equipment .. a thing of the past.
Sure you can have your wishlist. . But now.. you have to adapt to what you are issued.
It's an interesting setup.
Other games use a level requirement on items for this effect-
But then most people just grind for the items.. then are unhappy because of having to grind so much.
Here the grind is different. ..
But are the goals the same?

4 RepliesIf the game was harder. And a lot harder then set loot could work. But as of right now it's too easy and everyone would have everything

I feel that RNG only exists when it comes to legendary and exotic items. If the system is completely random how come I don't get uncommon or rare Hunter items on my Warlock or Titan and vice versa?
-
I prefer crota's end, where there is a specific part to beat for each piece of armor, I wish the non-primaries were spread out a little more, though.
-
I prefer set rng loot like in Monster Hunter. Every monster has a set pool of stuff u can get.

Absolutely, ofcourse I stick with games like Warframe, FFXIV, etc. for the grind so it's all just coming in a full circle of enjoyment.

11 RepliesThe Problem is that there is for the most people the one thing that won't drop. After 900 hours I got my first Gjalla and I'm still searching for my Hawkmoon. It's the same like in the VoG, that one Armor that just wouldn't drop after countless try's. RNG is ok per se, but Destinys RNG is to dumb. With Crotas end they made it better. Why is it that I have almost all exotic weapons 2 or more times (No land beyond is top with 7 drops) and still miss all ps exclusives? If they would just lower the chance of double and triple drops than it would be fine. Sure I would play less if I would get my Hawkmoon but after 1000 hours and with no new content Bungie should consider this as ok. Destiny just don't has enough content to make that much of grinding up.

2 RepliesNope. Because I don't give a shit if everyone has Gjallarhorn or vex or whatever. I don't think a game is fun if you have to play for 500 hours to get some stupid gun. I think it's fun if it's fun. Like for example I want a few exotics but don't have them. Playing night falls and raids every week to try and get them isn't fun. Playing raids and nightfalls every week because they're fun is fun. VoG and CE are fun but I just want to try all the bad ass guns.

Aw hell nawwwwwww

RNG is fine if they actually allowed xur to be the buffer. when they limit what he sells it makes RNG a lot less desirable. Every single exotic should rotate through xur
-
1 ReplyI'm perfectly fine with the rng. Idk why ppl make a big deal about it and cry. There's guns I still want but I never throw a fit about it lol

1 ReplyEdited by Diamond D Nice: 3/11/2015 10:33:33 AMI prefer achievables. I prefer a system where you are rewarded based on performance rather than luck. Like there's very little benefit to trying in Crucible especially if you have no use for marks. I haven't played rng games before and can't say it's a feature I like. Most things in Themis game I've stopped doing because it's a total crap shoot. So low percentage of reward means I just don't do the activity. Plus the rng is flat broken. They can say it's random. But it's a bad rng. I don't know how or why but there a ton of legendary weapons and i consistently get duplicates one after the other. It's be one thing if I had countless engrams and rewards and most weren't the same, but I have few rewards and it's probably a dupe more than 60% of the time. Over the weekend I got two against all odds. I already had two. None purchased. And for the record I accidentally dismantled one. So five since about Xmas? Atheon gives duplicates. I got two Vocs the same strike. And I've got countless example. There's a hundred legendaries so why do my rewards come from like a pool of 7 guns? But reward wise you'd swear the only guns were against all odds and badgers. Today I got two dragon breaths. Seriously. Bad enough they won't give me Gjallahorn, but two. The good thing is at least I didn't have it already is what I said this morning. Then I get it again on my third nightfall. What's crazy is I don't own the dlc and didn't know I could get dlc exotics as rewards. I just think there is bad rng. It's supposed to be random but I think it's like a slot machine that intended to be random but has a very detectable pattern. It's just the pattern is like a constant non winner.

2 Repliesthink it works well as it is - just think there should be a hard-patrol where exotics have a RNG chance of dropping. At the moment all the RNG is based on teamwork events (crucible, Raid, Nightfall) - only ROC strikes and Rumble have a tiny chance of giving none-group workers a chance at RNG exotics.

I prefer like the rng system. It adds some excitement to all activities. Plus, it gives the majority of players (casual gamers) a chance of getting great equipment. However, the current system desperately needs tweaking. Playing games is supposed to be fun, but there are 3 issues that do the exact opposite. These issues motivate me to quit playing. * Crucible rewards should drop at a rate comparable to strike rewards * Cryptarch packages should either guarantee a legendary item or the package should be degraded. Seeing a purple package only to get blue items is a slap in the face. * Faction packages should guarantee legendary items. Shards and energies should be removed from these lists.

Rng is love rng is life

"RNG is good for me"....thumbs up

3 RepliesI don't think most people have a problem with RNG most of the time, i think its the overall reward we get often times for "hard work." For example, smoggypluto... Another example, the nightfall is SUPPOSED to be the second hardest activity in the game(triple burn is a joke, but you get what I'm saying), well let's say you and i play the nightfall. You go afk for over half of the strike, and catch up to me to shoot a few vandals and a rocket at The Archon Priest. I have 100+ kills, no deaths. You have lets say 6 kills, 0 deaths. Well i have 3 32s and get rewarded 12 ascendant shards, and you? You get ghorn, or hard light or something.

1 ReplyIt's fine the way it is, there is no perfect system but this works pretty well. Except for Crucible, that's a joke, just awful.
-
3 RepliesI like how the system is set up save for the vendor gear getting bumped up to light level 31.
-
8 RepliesI'm fine with it but i think they should a crafting system for unique gear
-
1 ReplyThe blessing of RNG is its random The curse of RNG is its random This means everyone is treated equally...good or bad. Don't need to change it.
-
1 ReplyI don't mind the RNG but would've liked a set location you could farm to get that unique item
-
2 RepliesLike world of warcraft works well keeps you coming back for more
-
5 RepliesNah i dont really care for this type of system, if you have played borderlands then thats the type of loot system i want.
