To All of You People Who Say That SHOULDER CHARGE Is Cheap...
To everyone saying Shoulder Charge is the cheapest thing since top ramen and whoever uses it is a "scrub":
Shoulder charge isn't that great.
Arguments for why Shoulder Charge is unfair:
1) It is a one hit kill
2) ...
Arguments for why Shoulder Charge isn't cheap:
Point 1: It is countered by fusions, shotguns, and blink. Often just results in postmortems.
Point 2: You can't even turn during it
Point 3: You don't have any peripheral vision when using shoulder charge
Point 4: It must be used within 5 seconds of sprinting
Point 5: There are plenty of safer one hit kill options, and the Warlock melee is practically a one hit kill as well.
Point 6: The Striker is a melee subclass, and shoulder charge is the only thing that saves it from having the worst melee capabilities out of all subclasses.
Reasons for why I use Shoulder Charge:
1) My Titan build has low strength, so I use Shoulder Charge and Overload to have a melee ready whenever I need one.
2) Works great with Transfusion
3) Turns a Titan into a sprinter. Especially if used with Catapult.
4) Looks fancy
5) Preventing Nexus Cheese... I actually shoulder charged my teammates into the Nexus room today when they were trying to cheese. ha.
6) Most importantly, the other 2 skill choices:
A. Suck
B. Suck, and require situational conditions and player stupidity to be effective, AND make people just as angry (yes that is unstoppable)
Personally I find shoulder charge much less troublesome than Warlock melee, auto aim golden gun, or Radiance in PvP when you have killed someone and are dancing on top of them. That stuff is pretty scary.
EDIT: Not auto-aim GG, just excessively high aim-assist GG. Which doesn't matter if you're a good shot.
EDIT: Let's not forget magnetic grenades... and Fusion Gs. Not whining btw.
EDIT: I KNOW Warlock melee isn't a one hitter. But two is. And you'll never die in a CQC fight if you've got an overshield.
EDIT: The first Striker, leading its subclass in K/D, doesn't show up on the leaderboards until #33. There are 3 Defenders before him.

5 RepliesMy first Crucible match on my Titan was a no-gun run. I went 24-12, using only Shoulder Charge, Storm Fist, and Flashbang Grenade. After that match, i swore to never use Striker in PvP again. Your argument is pretty much invalid.

I went to my friends house and I used his 30 titan and all I did was shoulder charge ppl lol. Omg it's so fcking cheap to use.. It is so OP all you have to do Is run a short distance and melee and I killed a total of 7 ppl with it in 1 match ... It is OP I'm currently making a titan and in not gonna use that pussy shiiite

The only time i have had an issue with it is when some dude slammed into the other side of a wall and killed me. Seemed kinda bullshitty to me. Yea, its annoying, but its not op.

I use this general argument: In the final category, there are 3 options. The first one only helps during super use, which is about 1 or 2 seconds. The second is a melee augment that provides a powerful smash some time after sprinting. The third is a protective barrier that activates after sprinting, but is deactivated after any sort of movement other than sprinting forward, lasts only a couple of seconds, and is incredibly weak. The second is the only real strong option here.

I run a titan striker as my main in crucible.. with shoulder charge perk.. and rarely use it.. and have shotgunned plenty of opposing strikers mid charge.. it's not that op..

7 RepliesShoulder charge is fine, fusion/mag/flux grenades shouldn't be one shot kill! I can't say how many times I've been killed by those grenades while using a rocket launcher. The other guy dies but I do too...

People hate it because they remember getting killed by it and have a skewed perspective. They don't see the times where the titan is killed before they get to the target or my favourite, when the charge runs out just as you hit the trigger and do a basic melee into thin air.

I had a Titans shoulder charge track me around a corner and into the air. But that was just a one off chance.

If a titan knows how to use it they will blow out the kills in pvp my main is a titan and ill have the odd game or two where I can get alot of shoulder charge kills without dying heaps every class has something good and bad

Arc Blade also gets this massive melee assist, but that's a Super so I don't mind it as much. The thing is, all melees in the game have that same melee assist, but only two of them move you over a distance quickly, which allows for a lot of kills which practically home in on people.
