Spent 90 minutes solo exploring the Dreadnaught. Got to the Tormentor and had the UNFUN experience of: having only primary ammo most of the time and no way to get any or heal, because adds won't spawn; the BLARRING and endless alarm sound of critical health; the boss gaining health by the second while I am one-shot with 1 revive, waiting pointlessly for ANYTHING that may help me; failing to a revive shortage after 90 minutes feels really bad...
-
The same happened me! 90 minutes running around hoping the activity would het better. got to the Tormentor with 12 revives and it one shot me dead within 5 minutes and the activity ended. The tormentor kept healing itself while my guardian had no heavy ammo and no healing....poorly designed activity. Did it on legend difficulty today an got no adept weapon drops...not even double perk weapons dropped. big waste of time!!

I am shocked. Shocked! Well, not that shocked.

9 RepliesSeems like a terrible seasonal activity

9 RepliesIt's not hard, let's get that straight. You can just go far away from everything and use a scout rifle with kinetic tremors. It's just extremely boring. Hiding behind a pillar pot shoting a tormentor with a huge health pool is not hard, it's boring. Enemies healing him, again, not hard, boring. Dreadnaught is boring in its current state. Sure the mysteries are kinda fun to figure out, but when the reward is some shards and low stat armor, no thanks.

the best part about match making is that you have shared lives so if you're trio'd with one or two people who are not ready for the difficulty associated with this game mode they're just going to die all the time and its not even worth your time staying. it just promotes toxicity. if lives weren't shared that would mean i would have an easier time carrying newer players while they learn the new game mode and how to pve well.

Edited by TeKnoVKNG23: 2/5/2025 7:48:29 PMMy guess is the Tormentor boss will get a balance pass at some point. The ogre was fine, had no issues with that, but the Tormentor is just a health sponge and a completely unenjoyable encounter right now.

3 RepliesEdited by distractedFreek: 2/6/2025 3:41:58 PMThe health bug kind of makes me think about how they playtest their game. There is zero chance they would miss the bug if they playtested. They would have noticed that certain abilities weren't giving enough health back if they playtested on every class. I can only assume that they either: 1. Didn't playtest the activity (or their playtesting only extended to seeing if it launched). 2. Playtested it with admin "cheats" so they couldn't have noticed the recovery bug because they weren't losing health. 3. They knew the bug was there and just released the episode as is only to say, "Oh, it's not working as intended. We'll fix it later." How many times are we going to get a new episode/season where a core feature of it is broken at launch before they finally playtest properly? Edit: Psa, don't grab the fragile strength boon. It isn't worth it. You get less damage increase than the enemies do. The tormentor boss at the end can two tap at max res. And most minibosses can 2-4 tap.

7 RepliesSame boat. Took 76 minutes to kill the stupid thing with no health for reasons. And why the F are there limited revives for this thing are we not supposed to be having fun??
-
It’s just terrible,it’s incredibly shitty.
-
2 RepliesWho greenlit this, it’s garbage

15 RepliesAnd of course Aztecross posted a video about how Bungie "cooked" with this Season. It's almost sad how desperate content creators are faking that the game is in a good spot now.

Edited by GreenWheelbarrel42: 2/7/2025 3:49:10 PMBro i solo'd the entire thing in like 40 mins and i suck at PvE. Just gotta pick the right buffs. Dont choose any corrupted ones

4 RepliesWas in rando 3 man team today and had same thing happen UNFUN !! we got to Tormentor boss, I saw the 3rd was not respawning and I realized we had 1 revive token left (revive tokens should NOT be a thing in seasonal matchmade activities IMO) so me and 1 other guy 2 manned it and I assume our 3rd got kicked for not moving (which sucks and is also terrible design) I realized the damn Tormentor was healing and I almost threw the controller, we only beat it after what felt like 30 minutes of hell because we could heal with Crimson (i'm sure Saltagreepo at Bungie will fix that bug, can't have anything that helps the players). Now some Bungie Dev will read this and think "see they beat it, it worked out, and I bet that was such a unique experience and memory, they overcame a challenge, blah blah" NO !!! Man it was UNFUN, I was miserable, I'm not doing that trash again, IF i wanted Dark Souls I would play Dark Souls. My god this game has ZERO Power fantasy, always making every activity and boss fight in slogs with bosses having health gates, overshields, ways to heal themselves now in the nether. F This, It was UNFUN and I won't be playing more if they keep the terrible revives and no health regen for players mechanics.

"We heard you thoroughly enjoyed getting farmed by Threshers on Neomuna, so we made an even more tedious and miserable experience, you're welcome"-Bungie
-
This, grinding a bit on expert to see how good the new rolls are for weapons and if I get tormentor I just leave. He’s got the health of a dungeon boss and ads only spawn after doing certain damage to him so you’ll run out of ammo quick, along with two grims healing him I’d have to say that no one on the bungie team play tested this

13 RepliesGod forbid there's anything challenging in this game, just optimise your build

10 RepliesIf you break the jars, picking up the ammo brick is a full refill for weapons using that ammo type. There's also boons that give significant health regen which can be focused with the ghost mods. Bosses in these maps can heal past their phase caps but can't initiate another phase. The court of oryx room boss has 3 phases and only 3. Maybe it's just the mindset you entered with? Bungie is trying for a more roguelite experience and I don't know any roguelite games that start you at lv 100 instead of lv 1? Not saying you need to rethink your approach to enjoy it, but it might help.

In solo, thunder crash + cuirass of fallen stars will 1 tap the Tormentor. Just clear the three encounters and build up your super, enter the blight bubble and boom over. It’s not the case in advance with 3 players.
-
2 RepliesOk. It's not the most fun activity, but come on people --first time in yesterday I soloed everything but last bit when I got kicked or bungied. Terminator wasn't that bad...just keep running around and using bridge for a tactical benefit. I'm more confused on how the season stuff works. Are there even any bounties for the season; if so, I haven't unlocked it or found them. Plus, I'm stuck on quest I don't know what to do...step 11 of 21. Nothing is game friendly about this season 🙄
-
How did you burn through all your revives? Were you playing in a group or something and they were feeding?
-
I remember at one point Bungie nerfed snipers because they didn't want people to engage targets from afar and wanted players to engage enemies, not sit in the back with sniper rifles and scout rifles that robbed an activity of all fun.
-
I struggled at first so I went in with a trio who were great and it builds your confidence and work on load out, then I dropped extra loot to help.
-
46 RepliesRan it solo on warlock no issues had 17 revives remaining at the end just spec into getting lots of wells to drop from enemies to get your health back quick.
-
Edited by SAINTNICK72: 2/5/2025 8:33:01 PMI used a glaive and machine gun with warlock and have killed it a few times. using strand and clearing adds for health . In a trio. I dread what advanced is like.

My only issue with the tormentor (who was like 10% health) was when he grabbed me, then proceeded to set me down - problem was, we were on a ramp and it put me under the map. Had to kill myself to spawn on top, only to find he had full health. Had to work him down again 😂

9 RepliesHow about play the game as intended with people then maybe maybe your will have better luck
