Countdown should simply be removed from the competitive playlist. It is simply a terribly designed search and design gamemode. Why does planting take half the time as defusing? Why does whoever attacks first get advantage, since if both teams cap both points in their attacking round since attacking is much easier, they just get a win since it’s to 4? Why does the map not reset after one team captures a point? This leads to situations where the team attempting a retake after a plant wipes out the now-defending team and goes for a defuse, but because of the insanely long defuse timer, they get wiped by the bomb exploding. Then, for whatever reason, the round doesn’t restart, leading to the attacking team just sitting at the other bomb and instantly planting, leading to an instantly disadvantaged single point retake for the defending team.
In conclusion, this mode is poorly thought out and completely disadvantages one team and should not be anywhere near a competitive playlist.

Sometimes you have to give up on defusing the first bomb, let the other team have it, and get in position for the second one. You also have to get a feel for the detonation and defuse times. If your whole team’s getting wiped on the first bomb detonation, something’s gone horribly wrong! 😄
