I’ve actually really wanted to use this exotic for so long but been put off by its sheer ugliness.

Had a couple of themes they could go with (one of my favorite exotics and have wanted an ornament for years) - Resonant Chattel - Vow of the Disciple themed. Sort of deconstruct the hive shapes a little and ornament the original bony parts with the strange cloudy glass throughout the raid. Maybe have the cracks glow orange. Metallic parts are more jagged and darkness-y. - Lucent Wyrm - Savathun themed. Replace the Boney parts with the bleached white and pale green of Savathun’s throne world. Add on some more refined parts. - Methane Bloom - Titan archology theme. Bone replaced with the high-tech panels/screens found in the archology, displays the flower-like design. Screen has glowing green cracks like the original helm. - Escalant Simulacrum - Braytech themed. Classic Mars braytech design mixed with Europa DSC. Rounded edges, smooth front, abstract colors but with a little more practical edge. Helmet front is smoothed, but still pulls up into conical points for the horns like on the original mask. Front piece is more directly attached to mask than original like it’s more cohesive. Original metallic helm-pieces replaced with DSC geometry profiles. Idk. It just needs something other than being an un-shade-able piece of hive butt on our face

Even just letting the weird boneish part be effected by shaders would make a massive difference. It really is such a powerful exotic but its just so dumb and ugly looking I can't stand to equip it for long.

Agreed. It doesn't even look like a bow. Since it's an ice bow, make an ornament that makes it look like a Viking bow, for instance. With Christmas round the corner, the Dawning would be an ideal time to throw it in.
