lets start with some context:
so way back when cross play was first getting started and i coincidentally first started playing the game on Steam i had set up my bungie name to be changed to the exact same text as my steam name (Filthy™) as it was recommended by the system. except after i confirmed the name change my name came out as it appears now: (Filthy™#0896). i understand the four digit identifier at the end but why was my ™ changed to ™ ?
its even more weird considering i see other guardians with symbols and special characters in their names all the time while running around in game? i even opened a support ticket about this and it was ignored, which brings me to the next issue. why in the world is the name change only available ONCE?? like, why even give us the option at that point?? every other game I've played that requires an account name has either been permanent from the get go or has unlimited changes either free or locked behind a paywall which i would be willing to pay if it existed to get rid of this issue.
it feels even worse considering there wasn't even a typo in my name! and IIRC there was nothing saying special characters couldn't be used in name creation? and if its because my name tripped the censers than shouldn't my name have been changed entirely to Guardian#XXXX ?
anyway sorry for my short rant, any help possible at this point would be greatly appreciated.
