Behemoth killed my hype for BL
Titans never get anything different or special when new supers come around. Even Forsaken was disappointing.
Warlocks had tracking ball of destruction, now they got a teleporting explosive demon. They had electrocution, now they get a beam. They had a flaming sword archangel, now they get a defensive sanctuary of soothing sunlight.
Titans in a nutshell: Hammer? Give them a bigger hammer! They slam? Give them s bigger slam! They block? Give them a bigger block!
Now BL
Bungie: Okay guys we need ideas for new supers
Employee: Easy! Give Titans a fist, we're done for Titans. Give Warlocks a spear/staff that casts cryomancy. Give Hunters scythes of death, because death is the coldest ice.

Honestly I understand the frustration in the first place, but now where we saw actual ingame gameplay of the super it looks like it'll be pretty fun to use.

To be fair, Behemoth is actually looking like the most fun to play so far imo. The movement-based design philosophy is top-notch.

What Titans lack in ‘awe’ they make up in crutches. They literally can fly across a map, lock on shoulder charge you, suppress you with a nade that’s better than an actual super. Titans have been given the keys to the castle for a while now and have run amok.

4 RepliesYes because blade barrage and nova warp 2.0 - icy versions are so much more unique? To be fair there’s really only a handful of ability classes you can make that don’t break the game. Destruction, suppression, support And you can really only manifest these with melee based, projectile based, or area-of-effect based abilities And if you think about superhero comics, that’s the typical way powers are designed...more exotic powers like super speed, necromancy, transformation, and such wouldn’t fit well into this current game. I mean icaruslocks essentially have super speed and they’re annoying as -blam!- and super broken on PC. I hear a lot of complaining about the supers, but I haven’t seen one person give any unique ideas that wouldn’t be alterations to what currently exists. At least with stasis, bungie is leaning into combos of slow, freeze, and shatter which is a new concept in destiny

1 ReplyThe super has to fit the style of the character. Hunters are agile assassins, Warlocks are gliding space magic wizards, and Titans are tough punchy boys. Would you really be happier if Titans got a super where they danced around the map like an Arcstrider?

I get what you are saying and I agree for the most part. I see the comments "Titans are all about Slam! And punching people in the face"... sure yeah that's the literal titan meme and I get it.... (still waiting on my crayon dinner emote) But what I think you are really looking to say here, and I agree completely is there is no lore around gardians using these abilities. They are new to the game and therefore bungie had an opportunity to provide real new personality and play style to all of the subclasses... and it sorta fell short.... I get it, but bungie and well everyone whom play the game are limited by their imaginations. I can't imagine the time, effort, or ambition that went into this project for bungie so I hope it's what they want, but I also feel that specifically with behemoth and looking at the concept they focused to much on bringing the same personality which will inevitably make the neich of the "new" feel old much quicker. Of course we will have to wait and see, but first impressions so far it seem like 2 weeks of subclass hype before everyone goes back to their comfortable original subclasses. And obviously we haven't gotten the Hunter breakdown yet, but it kinda feels like this will be common across the bored and come late December we will see 1000 YouTube videos with the title "Bungie missed the mark on new Subclasses" Just my opinion and nothing more

10 RepliesPunching and slamming is what we do best. We are the most powerful class in terms of brute strength. We built walls that took a whole army to get past, even then, those walls still stand. We are titans. Punch first, ask questions later.

So the majority of complaints about the super are about the way it looms instead of how it works... inb4 they make subclass weapon ornaments.

1 ReplyOne thing I haven't seen mentioned yet is that the slam attack for the super created some sizeable stasis crystals, which look like they can be used for partial cover. We won't know how much that will impact gameplay yet, but subtleties like that and the increased mobility makes me wonder if this will be more usefull than we realize at this point. I could be wrong, but I'm reseving judgment until I've gotten my hands on it

The new Hunter super almost has the exact same animation as blade barrage and pretty much does the same thing, but freezes things and then kills them instead of outright killing them. Warlocks are getting Nova Warp with extra steps. Warlocks are a bit more unique but not by much. Just saying that all the new supers are pretty much more of the same. It’s not just Titans.
