Ok so I have been going backwards in the elder scrolls games starting with Skyrim and then playing oblivion. Now I’m getting Morrowind. I have never played this before so I have questions. Well actually just any advice/fun quest I should know about.
Also where are fun quest I can do while wondering the roads of Morrowind. I love side quests and wondering.

Edited by High Charity: 8/23/2019 7:50:17 PMWell, the graphics will be very, very dated, so keep that in mind for one. AI are handled differently and dont wander nearly as much like in Oblivion and Skyrim. Cliff Racers are the devil.

Edited by Steel Assassin: 8/23/2019 10:27:26 PMI have some list of tips and tricks somewhere, I'll have to find that and share. But a few things come to mind. - weapon and magic accuracy is directly linked to how proficient you are in the skill and how fatigued you are. If you don't know how to use a spear and you're tired as hell, you'll lose a fight with a mudcrab. - Taunting someone can get them to fight you. If they hit you first, it's not a crime. - There is no fast travel in the sense of clicking a location on a map and teleporting there, but there are many ways to travel quickly. Become familiar with where silt striders, boats and mages guilds are located, as you can travel between them. Liekwise, pick up the spells Almsivi Intervention, Divine Intervention and Mark & Recall, as these will also let you teleport. - Follow the roads, you'll find quests that way. You'll eventually escort a trader and find a very convenient pair of boots you shouldn't part with. Incidentally, invest in being able to resist magic. - A bit more long term, but eventually as you progress you should learn spells to cast levitate on other and other fortify speed on other. Both will help with escort missions. - If someone doesn't want to talk to you, get naked.

Its super super janky by todays standards. You will have nightmares about Cliff Racers. But... Its very cool and loved for good reason. Stick with it!

One of my favorites. Enjoy!

I assume you are going to be a mage, if you want an army of conjured allies make a bunch of the same spell and then cast them all (this of course is a late game move but it's a fun thing to see)

Save often! You can kill story-necessary NPCs and make it impossible to finish the story. I did this, and didn't realize it for quite a while. By the time I did, I had overwritten all my earlier saves that would have allowed me to undo it. Worst part was (and this may have since been patched), the person I killed had absolutely nothing to do with the story, and was an assassination target for the Morag Tong, so I was told to kill the guy. Unfortunately, since you're downloading the game, you're probably going to miss out on one of the most OP items ever. Not far from Seyda Neen, where you start the game, there is a cave under a large tree. There's several high-level enemies, and a locked chest that takes some trickery (or levitation) to get to. If you know what you're doing, you can go in there at the beginning of the game, run past the enemies, use the Icarian Flight spell to get to the chest, then save/load until you succeed at picking the lock. Inside is the Robe Of Saint Roris. In updated versions of the game (which is probably what you'll be downloading), the Robe has a spell effect you can activate that will regenerate health and stamina. But in the original, on-disc version, the Robe (which you can even wear over armor) had a constant health and stamina regeneration effect. You could get the robe almost as soon as you started the game, and it would make you nearly invincible, and you could sprint everywhere. Totally OP. Totally awesome.

I need to play these older RPGs (Morrowind/Oblivion, Fallout 3/new Vegas).

3 RepliesYESSS PREPARE TO PLAY THE BEST FCKING GAME OF ALL TIME nostalgia aside, look for secrets and hidden items!!! items inside tree stumps, keys on hearths and ledges, unique items, tucked away in rafters and hidden areas only accessable by levitation. the book variety is fantastic. there's LOADS of unique items; not all of them do special things but it's so cool to find named weapons and items (the fork or horripulation!) since the dialogue is text and not spoken, Morrowind has more lines than oblivion and Skyrim combined. the dlcs are worth every penny, though I'm sure nowadays all version are game of the year, you can literally swim to solstheim if you want (take a boat, it's just cool that the world is one big rendered area.) your first playthrough will be pretty tough, but if you e joy the game and play it a lot, you'll find ways to become godlike. leveling up in this game feels meaningful, like you've actually been progressing and learning about the world at hand. the map is huge too, with tons and tons of neat areas, and fast travel is only accessable by riding giant bugs (silt striders), by boat, or by a complex system of teleporters that you have to find activators for, all over the world. no location-to-location fast travel is good! it makes you explore the world. sorry to explode on you like this, Morrowind was my childhood and it's one of the best games I've ever played. Skyrim and oblivion pale in comparison to it in my opinion. I hope you have fun!

3 RepliesEdited by OldboyVicious: 8/23/2019 12:35:21 AM1. Do not steal from a merchant which you intend to do business with. 2. Don't random kill unless attacked until after main quest, and all faction and misc quests are finished. 3. Join all the factions you intend to join at the same time so there will be no conflict of interest and they'll let you join. 4. Do not wear the Ordinators Armor in Vivec. (This includes any Indoril armor) 5. Do quests as soon as possible before random looting so you won't misplace quest items. 6. HAVE A BACK UP SAVE. Or several, like checkpoints. You might accidentally kill someone or lose an item but not realize it until much later. Having checkpoint saves can prevent you from having to start a whole new game in order to progress. 7. Keep your nose clean and it will help your fame stats. 8. Save before entering a cave, tomb, shrine, or testing out a theory. 9. When doing a bunch of different quests at the same time keep a journal of on-going quest and mark them off when finished to save all that flipping through and hunting in your journal. 10. If you want to be mean, be devious. Use a fenzy spell to get the human to attack you and then you can kill em and take the items they have. 11. Do not kill anyone in Tel Fyr until after the main quest is completed. 12. Under NO circumstances equip the Sword of Fury!!!!!! 13. Do NOT kill Trebonius of the Mages Guild before you are a Master Wizard or you cannot become the ArchMage. 13. Rubber bands train your character while you sleep.

Pay attention to what the NPCs say and use your journal often. There are no quest markers, so yeah...
