So, I was in the crucible and this other guardian and I are trading shots, same weapon. However, three body shots on him only took him down about halfway, while three body shots on me killed me. How does this work? I thought the level and power advantages are disabled in the crucible? Shouldn't that mean that any two guardians firing the same gun should be doing the same damage? That the same number of shots should kill any guardian?

Shouldn't that mean that any two guardians firing the same gun should be doing the same damage?
yes, but what this does not account for is lag. While you see 3 hits to him and 3 hits to you, lag and lag compensation you may have hit him with 3 body and he hit you with 4. Impossible to really tell without logs. It also does not account for resilience of armor, if they are a 5 and you are a 3 you will die faster.

14 Repliesdepends on the pvp mode in ?. not all modes are are pl disabled

Either you were low resilience or rampage/kill clip was active 🤪

Well there’s resilience and perks/abilities that increase damage like rampage, kill clip, and empowering rift. Then you have healing abilities and perks. Also if you aren’t in 3rd person and you can see a player, do know they can most likely also see your head and you don’t know if someone is hitting headshots if you’re still alive unless you know very well how much health you have and how much their weapon deals. For instance in the situation you’re talking about your opponent could have something like overcharged sturm and landed a body with the overcharged shot then a a head and a body.

Your resilience is probably a bit lower and his is higher

He hit full precision shots. You did not

Edited by Willakkuma: 8/25/2018 4:57:09 PMRecord your matches. Review them carefully and with an unprejudicial eye. During suspect encounters take note of where your health and that of your opponent are when the exchange begins. Make sure neither of you are taking a 2nd source of damage. Pay careful attention to whether or not it's head/body shots being landed on either side. Has it been a relatively "normal" lag free match? Post - match, check the other player's stats if available.....vs where you stand. If you have markedly better numbers and all other factors here ^ have been checked, your opponent was probably a damage referee beneficiary. I've recorded literally 100s and 100s of matches for 4+ years. At first, it was just for improving and teaching myself how to play. Later, it evolved into a search for rng bullets, bloom bullets, hit registration issues, and damage referee instances. Yes, you'll find these mechanics at work if you search for them. Fact. You can view what you discover vs. plenty of other videos on the subject available out there. NONE of this is anything new at all. Been in the game for years. The only folks in denial and won't acknowledge are the ones that want help as well as a fraudulent existence. Also fact. For what it's worth - I run zero (0) recovery on my main and have no problem seeing instances, same now as it was in D1. After recording enough matches you'll get to a point where you can tell the difference in-game at least part of the time. In the D2 era, your 1v1 encounters with a damage referee beneficiary are much more easy to decipher. Sometimes it's outright BLATANT. Example - closed hallway, point blank shotgun to the chest = zero damage. Happy hunting.

Edited by GrundleBeans: 8/25/2018 6:06:25 PMWithout video evidence from both sides it's impossible to tell who shot who where or if there was a 3rd party involved, differences in perks and resilience levels, or if there was any lag involved. If your opponent had the right gun and had just recently made a kill, he could have had Rampage, which causes extra damage. You could rule that out if you know what gun he used, but you can't rule out he could have had a buff to his damage resistance by his own perks or the perk of a teammate transferred to him.

You have no resilience. Lower than 4 resilience allows for one less shot to kill you.
-
How do you know he was hitting you with body shots and not head shots?

8 RepliesLag. Weapon buff effects. Maybe you got shot in the face and you're denying/unaware.
